Well, if you have other dungeoncrawlers like Descent, HeroQuest, Advanced HeroQuest, you'll find them useful. (:

You should probably note that it's a bogus campaign before someone takes it seriously

I'm pretty sure you do - Heroquest uses a surprisingly large number of doors!

They had to do more doors for more money so they could do the variety of colors on the bases I guess. I like the concept, but not sure about the doors. I'll have to check my terrain supplies once I receive Conan and Dungeon Saga, but this might be a great post KS pick up.

I dunno, by the time this KS delivers I will have a lot of doors!

I have the contents of two Advanced Heroquest sets, numerous resin scenic doors from various manufacturers, a couple of metal Rackham doors, plus a load of doors from the Twisting Catacombs KS which hopefully will be arriving soon.

Plus I've just reminded myself that I need to buy some dungeon doors from Mr Dandy at some point.

Do I really need another 27?

Maybe.

Can we can agree that the typical board game enthusiast may not have an advanced terrain collection at their disposal and that 27 doors for $18 is pretty reasonable ?

Yeah, the price per door is very reasonable.

Was able to skim through the rules last night.

We all know about the extra wound, and larger inventory
They toned down full auto (iron rain) and barbarian to just zombies in a zone.
The armor rules and extra wound made me suspicious about it being more dangerous, but I couldn't find anything really that different in the rules.
Then I noticed the floor tiles.

The new tiles are all pretty much brocken up into 9 3" cubes per tile, but the layout of the walls is different from the standard zombicide tiles.
There are more rooms, and less street in general, and the layout reduces outdoor line of sight more often.

The result will be more zombies in your face.
Less line of sight diminishes range weapons greatest asset, you know, shooting things before they are on top of you.

Add in the new fact that Abomination types all being significantly more dangerous than their predecessors, and I see the need for armor and the extra wound.

The extra inventory slots will be great, expesically now that some of the vault/magical weapons can't be used early on. You won't have to make the tough decision between the weapon you want, and the one you can acutally use now.

Spellbook is essentially webbing for spell cards

Iron Hide is 5+ armor without an armor card, or taking up a slot, and the box set dwarf starts with it.

Amor saves work like Warhammer saves where you roll the armor value of higher to ignore a wound

Samson, the dwarf, in general is just brutal. Iron Hide (free amor) +slot for shield, +1 to roll melee, and Barbarian on the first go around makes you a zombie mincing machine. Pick up an aditional die to combat and +1 damage Melee on the second go round with an axe and you can murder zones full of fatties and abominations like they were walkers.
Spoiler:

Silas, the elf, is ying to Samson's yang, or Legolas to his Gimli, bieng the ranged weapon specialist.
+1 to roll ranged, point blank, and Iron Rain on the first go round and you can shoot every zombie you can see, and not murder your friends in the process.
On the second go around, rack up another 2 combat actions (1 has to be ranged, but really why are you going to use a melee weapon at all once you have iron rain?)
Spoiler:

Also, noteworthy are the new extra activation and double spawn cards.
The new Extra Activation Cards are color coded like regular spawn cards, and at the one previewd, doesn't trigger extra activations while the heroes are still in blue.
The Double Spawn cards are new. The location you draw them for spawns nothing, but the next location you spawn spawns two cards worth of zombies.

If we reach $2,350k all backers will get Ostokar the Pale, another Naïade Special Guest Survivor, including his miniature and ID card. However, given his very dark nature, we decided to give you the option of using him as a special Necromancer as well! So he will come with the necessary cards to alternatively spawn him as a Necromancer

The Necromancer Cabal optional rules allow you to add special Necromancers to your game, and even have several Necromancers trying to escape the map at the same time!

During Setup, you take the 6 standard Necromancer cards from the Zombie deck, and replace as many of them as you want with cards of other Necromancers, adjusting the odds and quantities in which each of them may spawn.

When a Necromancer card is drawn, place the indicated Necromancer figure on the board (if available), along with its Necromancer Spawn token. Any Necromancers already on the board get an extra activation at this moment. The Necromancers behave normally, each making its way to the nearest Spawn Zone that doesn't contain the Necromancer Spawn token they created.

Beware the dark ritual! When Necromancers activate within 0-1 range of each other, they both escape the board as if they'd reached their escape Zone. Their Necromancer Spawn tokens are flipped to their standard side and the game just got a lot harder!

Special Necromancers each have a special rule. Ostokar the Pale is a great commander of Zombies. Whenever he gets an Extra Activation, all Zombies in his Zone get an Extra Activation as well!

If we unlock this Stretch Goal, backers will get the 4 Naïade characters in its own special box:

If we reach $2,400k all Knight-level backers will get the Kickstarter Exclusive Necromancer known as Grin, including his miniature and Necromancer cards. Grin is only a Necromancer, without a Survivor ID card, and will only be available for Knight-level backers.

See what happens when you talk about stuff . We asked why buy the knight level kickstarter, so now they are making the exclusives all knight level .

Yeah, I never understood why backers say they want more add-ons or to make the higher pledge level more attractive. It sounds a bit too much like "Okay, we'll just make you pay for the stuff we were going to give for free," although, yeah, this isn't always the case.

*Anyway* only 6% of backers are at the $100 level, so these Knight Exclusives aren't all *that* exclusive, after all!

I think it is somewhat...misguided...to think that more 'exclusives' at the "Knight" level weren't coming anyway?

In general, it's better for CMoN to make just one "Kickstarter bonuses" pack than two - it simplifies packing the core pledge, which reduces labor and cost. The extra pennies worth of models in a minimum pledge get eaten up in complexity.

Is it? I'd like to know. Did they do KS exclusives for higher level pledges in past zombicide campaigns?

If not, the change would seem to be the result of poor planning. The Wolfsburg expansion as it stood was pretty lame, and the decision to include the Wolf abomination and three wolvz in the $100 level pledge - which really should have been exclusive to Wolfsburg - was dumbfounding.

They did. Rue Morgue had an exclusive survivor.

I think you vastly overestimate the "additional complexity." Most likely, anything exclusive to the $150 level will be individually packaged and simply added to the box.

Why?

It's an incentive for people that purchased at the $100 level to pick up the expansion later, even if not at the KS.

The inclusion of the Woflbomination and extra Wolvz is actually marketing.

If you are already getting some Wolf stuff, then it makes sense to pay a bit more to get the full use of them.

Same with giving a handful Toxic Zombies in S2, for which you really want the expansion.

CMoN knows all about the completist bug that gamers have...

Zombicide Season 1 the lower pledge level ,Fatty $75), got much less than than Abomination ($100), soo much so that there was a meme about on the CMON boards, about the poor 107 "that must have been batty to only pledge fatty"

The last lot of pictures are all taken from an odd angle. For some reason they are all taken looking up on the miniatures, instead of looking down on them. It makes all of them look like they are oddly arching backwards. I'm sure Guiton isn't an idiot and didn't actually sculpt them that way.

I actually do, too. I just didn't want to be the first person to say so. I think I'm a fan of the Guiton, Howe, and Paolo boxes so far.

I probably won't buy any, though, because I'll be able to get them later.

I wonder if the news of the new Warhammer box is eating into this KS at all as people are waiting to get a proper idea of what that looks like?

Still it looks like it is closing in on 2.5mil now and I'm sure will go past that in the closing days.

Were the character cards from the last update copied into the thread?

I don't think AoS has that much to do with it, I think they've beaten the number of backers of the last zombicide set and have plenty of new people like myself onboard. I think it has more to do with the add ons just not doing it for most people. We've seen the comments about picking them up later, or varying styles, I think the whole "guest artist" boxes are over done. To me the last few stretch goals with the four figs from niaide??? Really gave me time to consider just doing 2 of the $100 pledges so I get an extra tile set, dice, and more zombies and sell off some of the stretch goals. Not to mention having a second Abominotaur and Ablobmination.

I think the Gowan figure is nice, but not enough to up the pledge $50 to get it and Wolfsburg when I can get Wolfsburg later at a discount. I think that they blew their wad early with giving out the Abominotaur too soon and should have kept it for later (like now). Unless they have something Special still in the que that blows the Minotaur away I think we will see the usual big hike at the end, but nothing to take down Conan in totals.
