I haven't worked with black yet, so it'll prove to be an interesting and challenging project (and good practice for one of the "big" projects I hope to get to later this year).

whoa. Whats this "big project" for later this year? Is this a tease or did I miss something.

You didn't miss anything, it's something I've had in mind and had the parts for, for a very long time now, just don't want to tip my hand before I'm ready. Will get to it some time later this year.

Congrats.

Amazing amount of work you have acomplished since you started your early vision of the Mantis Warriors. I believe I might have some early pictures somewhere of our early years of 40k games ( models and terrain ) . If I can find them I'll bring them up next time I come down there.

Nice to see how much your skills have improved - Impressive indeed!

Be fun to post those, bet folks would really get a laugh out of them. They'll also be able to see how far ahead your painting was back then when compared to the rest of us. You had the best looking army, hands down!

Grats indeed. It's wonderful to see such a coherent vision. Inspiring - and indeed legendary - work.

Ironically I won the only painting contest I've ever entered, so technically I'm 100% ( 20 years ago ). Boy how the level of skill and competition has grown. I was so thrilled just to win that I never cashed in my prize for winning ( gift cert ).

Now it's my turn to keep up with you. Again congrats.

PS.. if you need parts or such for this " big project " let me know. I seem to be buying stuff at about 10X the speed I paint.

I am completely covered I think SL, thank you. Have a special drawer in my bitz box for it and I think all the various parts from all over the world have arrived and are safely stowed within.

Funny how things are. My entries into painting competitions have been epic failures. Good thing I have all you guys to keep my ego properly inflated!

Very nice summery of your army!

Well, I guess paint is not the most important aspect of a miniature,
it is their soul that makes people mesmerized. ; )

@proto: Well, that's kind of the point in mentioning a "big project"... have to build anticipation and buzz.

@Matt: Your half right, it's my family's job to TEAR DOWN my ego... and they're quite good at it.

Well, got a proper new tripod for my camera. Perhaps tomorrow I'll have something for you.

This big project, is it your chapter master?

I'm guessing it's a titan. Doubtful, I know, but it would be Fething awesome!

You guys are way off. I only WISH I had a titan to paint. No, my project is much more humble... though I think ambitious in it's own way and should look pretty unique if I pull it off successfully.

I am very anxious to start it, but I have a fairly long list of things that must be done first.

- 10 assault marines & a apoth for Adepticon
- at least one GMS marine, probably two
- finish my LS Storms
- finish my MoTF (which is still at the 3/4 done stage)

Sorry guys, it's gonna be a while. I promise I will do it as soon as my que clears a bit, but I imagine it'll be several months down the line.

OK, one clue a week until I get to work on them (or until I run out of clues).

Your clue for this week was... "the color black figures prominently".

Hmm i think i may be able to guess but i dunno if i want to spoil it? Have you mentioned "them" in passing before Gits?

Btw, if this is annoying, say the word and we'll switch back to current projects.

Nah, fun from my end to see if you guess. But just guessing what it is does not necessarily mean you'll get all the details right... and the devil is in the details after all. I believe my interpretation will be fairly unique.

Edit: Vit guessed it by PM on the first shot. Guess it wasn't much of a mystery.

Have you decided whether you're going to build the other 5 AMs, or are you gonna paint the built ones first?
