How do?

So had a mate over for Awful Horror Films last night, and we got chin wagging about Star Trek Discovery, and how much we enjoyed the extended stay in the Mirror Universe.

And as a result, based on what we know of it’s origin in Enterprise, we wondered if the Mirror Universe is actually the true one?

See, the first split there was when Cochrane achieved Warp Speed, and the Vulcans rocked up to say hello. And we’re then promptly murdered to death, eventually leading to the Terran Empire.

Given how mankind acts in this day and age (and always has, really), we considered that a more natural response than ‘oh hai Spehss Elves, have a drink’.

This is thrown into stark relief when it turns out The Federation is ultimately a Grandfather Paradox, thanks to The Borg and First Contact. We’re thinking it was the crew of the Enterprise showing that Paradise Would Be Built that stayed hands?

I hope this makes sense, and I’m interested to hear other points of view.

It kinda makes sense but the Prime ST universe i guess has to be the good one as thats the point of the show?

I do love the Mirror Universe..........The STD one was not bad, but Enterprise did it better.

Neither is the real universe. Khan Noonien Singh exists in both those timelines, and not in the real timeline we live in, so all Star Trek universes are parallel universes no-doubt created by later time travel shenanigans.

Essentially, every Star Trek timeline is a series of nested causality loops that intersect each other.

Damn Straight !

Mirror Hoshi would not scrape him off the sole of her stilletos.

I wonder why they did not do a Mirror epsiode until the joy of the DS9 ones.

any 'verse without Q isn't really worth worrying about, although maybe in the meaner mirrors they don't regard humanity as the next big thing and just ignore them rather than the usual sci-fi higher power prodding

Wouldn't Q be the same in all universes, given their omnipotent nature and being more or less above normal universal existence? Admittedly, I have not seen any of the recent mirror universe episodes, so I don't know if Q have ever been addressed in them.

I don't recall Q being mentioned in them..... Maybe they created it for a laugh as something fun to watch when the Prime got too preachy and dull.

Or, with mankind not really denying but more embracing its past, we just weren’t as much fun to toy with?

After all, Q is not The Q. Just an individual amongst the Continuum.
