Well, I guess reaching into the Obscure as Feth files work for the later version of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

So are these going to be live action or animated?

Ms Marvel has already been in some animated things (with Squirrel Girl and assorted others) on their youtube channel/TV channels, so I'm not clear which way they're going to go with that, either.

All live action AFAICS. Moon Knight was originally slated to be introduced into the Netflix world in a similar way to the Punisher apparently, and the article suggests that enough work was done to warrant carrying it on into its own thing on D+.

I like Kamala, but her power set seems like it would be expensive to do for a tv series, so I worry they’ll half arse it. Putting her into the MCU at this juncture also seems early as i would think it’s hard to be inspired by someone the world barely knows exists.

Besides, just watch the trailer for The Mandalorian and tell me that that show's production values don't look top notch.

Yeah but that was the TV division under Perlmutter, Incarnate of Spiteful Pennypinching. The Disney+ stuff is all "proper" MCU under the remit of the movie team and Feige. That's not to say they won't bungle it, but they're starting from a better position with a bigger budget, so the odds are certainly better than if it was going to end up on ABC or wherever.

Marvel Mega Boss Kevin Feige took to the stage to give us an idea of what kind of show WandaVision will be. They haven’t started shooting yet but they did give us a small reel that’ll give us an idea of what to expect. That reel included a lot of footage of Wanda and Vision from their various appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe spliced together with black and white footage from the Dick Van Dyke Show. This is pretty much the closest to confirmation we’ve gotten that the show will have a 1950’s feel to it as previously rumored.

We also found out about some more casting announcements. Feige announced that two previous Marvel characters will be making an appearance on top of Teyonah Parris joining the cast as adult Monica Rambeau. Kat Denning will be returning to her role as Darcy Lewis after being absent since Thor: The Dark World and Randall Park will also be reprising his role as Agent Jimmy Woo from Ant-Man and the Wasp. Feige also announced that Katherine Hahn has joined the cast of WandaVision as a “nosey neighbor” but didn’t provide any other details about her role.

The word “weird” has been used to describe this show several times and we also got the additional description of “part sitcom, part epic MCU adventure”. WandaVision is set to film soon and will debut in 2020 on Disney+

Apparently(I'm not really a comics person) there was a run of Vision that this vaguely resembles. In that, Vision builds himself a family and they all go off and attempt to "be normal"(the memory wipe that led to all this has reset Vision to his comics-default so more like Data pre-emotion chip), and it gets extremely dark and fethed up.

Or can’t stand, in my case. I won’t boycott an ensemble movie that she’s in, but I sure as hell won’t give a dime to a solo movie for her. I’ve read up on her origin, I’ve seen her in all the recent video games, and the character just annoys me. It has always felt like a replacement to the original Ms. Marvel (now that she firmly goes by Captain Marvel).

Moon Knight is awesome though. He and She Hulk could definitely have definitely tied in with the Defenders and Punisher and could be a lot of fun. Plus we get “crazy Egyptian Batman”!

Inhumans was made by Marvel Television. This group has nothing to do with The Mandalorian, or any of these MCU shows.

Kamala has never been in the same power scale, fought in the same arenas, or existed when carol danvers was not active. In no way was she ever marketed or acted as a replacment. Shes just a nerdy kid who grew up around super heroes and has a favorite she is taking inspiration from.

I think the marketing early on is mainly what gave people the "replacing carol danvers" idea. I'm excited about this series though. Ms. Marvel is for sure my favorite of the "Teen" hero marvel comics right now.

MK needs to be functionally crazy or the audience will not sympathize with him. And given the current drive to de-stigmatize mental illness, it would be a bad take for Marvel to go full crazy with MK.

Early Moon Knight is probably the easiest sell. He's adopted various identities, but this allows a larger, sympathetic cast of support characters and we can be left to wonder if MK is actually crazy or just crazy like a fox, and is Khonshu real or not?

Given the Marvel universe already has magic in it, the idea of Khonshu existing (and flat-out resurrecting Marc Spector) can't be easily dismissed, but it's easy to leave nebulous.

I kinda hope they do the 2016 moon knight run. It was an interesting set up of "Moon knight in a mental institution slowly remembering his past and piecing his origins back together one last time." It lets them go balls to the wall his multiple personalities as well.

I have a horrifying feeling that something subtle like that might end up like the first season of Iron Fist, where everyone just laughed at the idea that Danny was the immortal Iron Fist. Their doubt and his unreliability didn't really add anything to the story.

I'd rather see him having loud arguments and discussions over a cell phone with Khonshu in the presence of others. Either way, this show is going to spawn so many memes.

If there’s hope, it’s that the second season of Ironfist, whilst still not brilliant in the way of say, S1 Daredevil and Punished, was still a massive improvement over its first season.

Disney is giving me a She Hulk series? Really? Now I'm super conflicted. One the one hand; I'm getting a She Hulk series. On the other hand; nobody from the TV side of Marvel has shown up in the movies (apart from a guy from Agents of SHIELD) and I want a big-screen She Hulk more than anything. Maybe she'll move from TV to the movies; maybe she won't. I'm excited and saddened at the same time.

But hey--- thrilled to see we're getting White Jewish Batman too! I hope they don't skimp on the crazy with that production. Both Moon Knight and several of his followers/sidekicks are pants-on-head crazy. Done right, the show should be a glorious train wreck of spiraling WTF. I may actually spring for the Disney streaming service when these land.

It's important to understand that Marvel Television has/had no ties to the MCU and associated personnel.

This is why there were so few crossovers beyond the occasional reference and fringe character.

The Disney+ series, including She Hulk, are officially part of the MCU from the get go, and in fact it has been strongly suggested that WandaVision will filter directly into Dr Strange 2.

So it is entirely possible that you'll see her in future movies, although it may mean she's unlikely ever to see her own movie now.

Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige turned up to D23 again today, wearing a Black Widow hat. There were things to announce. As revealed in Bleeding Cool’s liveblog from the event, after burning through Star Wars footage (Rey with the double-edged lightsaber was probably the big shot) we got down to the Marvelness of it all.

First up – the announcement of the expected Black Panther II directed by Ryan Coogler (above) starring Chadwick Boseman, with a release date of May 6th, 2022.

More to come, I’m sure but that will do for now… they have a lot of Eternals to talk about first.

Involving the Eternals movie. “This story expands thousands of years, pulled back the cosmic curtain.”

And specifically that Dane Whitman was to be played by Game Of Thrones’ Kit Harington. Dale Whitman is, as any fule kno, the Black Knight, medieval superhero character dragged to the present day, and originally created for Marvel’s Avengers title in the 60s by Roy Thomas, George Tuska and John Verpoorten.

Very happy with that casting.

I believe however that's a error there -- Dane Whitman -- in comic continuity anyway -- is not from the past but is the descendant of a knight from Arthurian times.

be intrigued to see if they go with the Ebon Blade or his neural sword -- hoping for the former but time will tell.

During Marvel’s presentation at the D23 Expo, Kevin Feige announced that Game of Thrones‘ Kit Harington was cast in the series in the role of a non-Eternal member of the cast. It was also announced that Gemma Chan is playing Sersi and Barry Keoghan is playing Druig.

They join the previously cast Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, with Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, Salma Hayek as Ajak, Lia McHugh as Sprite, and Don Lee as Gilgamesh.

You can see some concept art from the film that was shared on Twitter showing off the character designs for these characters.

This movie follows a race of immortal aliens known at Eternals, who were sent to Earth years ago by the Celestials to protect humankind from the Deviants. When talking about the upcoming film at Comic-Con, director Chloé Zhao, explained, “It’s about this group of incredible immortals, but through their journey, we really get to explore what it means to be human and humanity on our time on this planet.”

Eternals will hit theaters on November 6th, 2020.

So intersting thing with Eternals. On the marvel unlimited app they tend to promote either the new hotness, or upcoming movies. For Eternals, they specifically decided to promote the Neil Gaiman mini-series from post civil war. I kinda hope that's the version this movie adapts and they didn't just pick it because it was "more recent".
