I absolutely would NOT want Nic Cage back as Ghost rider, although Johnny Blaze is my preferred Ghost Rider. Robbie Raze is my #2 choice.

As a side note, saying Marvel's "most absurd" character was joining the Avengers was misleading. I initially thought they were talking about Doop from the Ecstatix.

If they do introduce Ghost Rider into the films it will not be Nic Cage.

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

While Johnny is the Ghost Rider everyone knows, all his best most iconic tricks and looks are Danny Ketches. I would like them to do Danny Ketch and have Johnny Blaze be a supporting character in the background. A kind of Hank Pym, Scott Lang type situation except Johnny doesn't need to be old.

It would be great to have Danny dealing with all this crap while Johnny is around to give us context and explain how fethed he is now that hes cursed with the Ghost Rider.

These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

This could be cool. Wait was spawn part of marvel and if so could that count. I guess there are a few rays of sunshine before mcu craps out but it's trying to hold it all together. Mostly interested in blade, ant-man, and as-guardians of the galaxy. Sadly most other characters are just gone for now or get made really diverse whatever that really is.

Wasn't Ghost Rider already in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Would it be the same character or someone else taking up the "mantle" of Ghost Rider?

Yes, Robbie was, which makes him most likely given that Agents operates as part of the same canon as the films.
It doesn't preclude other Riders (especially given the way they tossed around the possession like a football for plot shenanigans), but he is most likely, if this happens.

I also like Danny Ketch but truthfully any good depiction of Ghost Rider would be great. No idea how they manage to keep utterly screwing up such an awesome character.

I don't know anything about Robbie Reyes, though - Have not watched Agents of Shield.

I don’t know enough about Ghost Rider to care about which character they use, with the sole exception that I Really hope they do like Agents and don’t use Robbie’s stupid racing helmet skull.

I’d accept Nic Cage’s take, as I did enjoy those films for just being pants-on-head crazy, and not giving a damn.

I know that the Punisher isn't even close to being a team player, but I'd still like to see a decent version of him. And yes, I know that the Netflicks version of him is technically in the MCU, and is actually pretty good.

By the way, was anyone else a bit disappointed that they didn't allow the guys from Agents of Shield, Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist to at least make a cameo in Averngers Endgame?

To spell it "Averngers" once may be regarded as a misfortune; to do so twice looks like carelessness.

I don't know why the MCU ran from some of the depictions on Netflix. Yes, Iron Fist was terrible, but everything else was pretty solid I think - probably the best Punisher you're likely to get after like 4 failed bites at that particular cinematic apple. However, once Kevin Feige decides he hates something, that's that apparently.

Nope. Endgame was overpacked as it was. There were several characters that matter going forward that would have been better served with more screen time and a couple others would have served the movie better by having less. I didn't mind wrapping up some stories, but for example Mark Ruffalo hamming it up in a diner for a good 10 minutes or so didn't matter to anything, beyond an extended awkward acknowledgement that significant character development wasn't for the audience. Which was something of a missed opportunity since Thor 3 and Infinity War made it seem way more important than it turned out. [And a perfectly blended Hulk with no downsides is a really boring character]

So, no. Tossing in the rejects and a few cameos (of the few decent characters) would have done nothing but eat screen time for no point or purpose.

I think it was probably a little more hard-headed of a decision than "Feige hates it". It's Perlmutter who's the monumentally petty one by all accounts.

The Netflix shows are dead by Netflix's own hand, but they retain some level of control over those iterations of the characters for several years yet. Why would Disney want to feature them in the MCU proper? It's not a cross-promotion of any kind(Peggy Carter is at least an established character in the films, and will be appearing in the upcoming What If series). There's no realistic possibility that Marvel will be able to use the Netflix iterations of the characters on-screen again since by the time Netflix's rights expire most of the casts will have moved on to other things. If Marvel fancy the idea of using those characters again in the medium term, either in the cinema or for streaming shows of their own, they won't want to "canonise" the Netflix iterations any more than they would want to the Fox X-Men.

Not like he's the only OP marvel character compared to most of the cast. That said there are differing power levels. I think tony stark, thor and scarlet witch are the strongest any mcu hero should be. Sometimes less power can be good too. I mean batman is a fan favorite in DC and he has no super powers at all and at best expensive gadgets. Sometimes figuring out how to deal with a situation rather than using brawn to chew through it and while remaining fairly mortal and an underdog can make for good story.

Spawn is not part of Marvel, although the character of Angela was jointly created by Todd MacFarlane and somebody at Marvel. So marvel bought the rights to her and made her Thor’s sister (won’t happen in MCU, since Hela got that role instead of Loki’s daughter).

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Ghost Rider is possibly my favorite character...

I guess I'm in the minority in that I love all the movies... especially the excavator scene:

That made me laugh! I don't think Ghost Rider's even in the top 50% of daftest Marvel characters.

Marvel has a lot of terrible, throwaway characters. Rocket Racer and the Big Wheel don't even rate on the scale.

Even if you don't include the NFL superhero tie ins.

See, the Whizzer, Asbestos Lady, Paste-Pot Pete and the Walrus.

Let's not forget Combos Man, the guy that becomes a gestalt version of the Avengers once he eats a Combos brand bag of chips. ( yes, this was a sell-out marketing campaign by Combos, but this is technically cannon).
