Space Marine Adventures
Space Marine Adventures lets you and your friends guide a band of Adeptus Astartes through a twisting maze of tile-based corridors as they take on a xenos threat.
It’s a tried-and-true formula that, while streamlined for speed and ease of play, harkens back to classics like Warhammer Quest (including Blackstone Fortress) and Space Hulk. Now we’re releasing two new expansions!
These two boxes each offer a new mission to play, plus three models previously only available in Space Marine Heroes: Series 1 – including a rare captain with a power sword and plasma pistol!

Blitzbowl

Blitz Bowl is a sleek and fast-paced game of fantasy football in the Blood Bowl universe. The non-stop action makes it a blast to play, and we’re adding four new teams – bringing the total available to six!
Blitz Bowl is an ideal game to crack out at family game night, a school club, or a buddy’s house.

Looks to me that via SMA, we can now get the majority, if not all, of Series 1 of Space Marines Heroes without going to blind boxes.

Thanks for the update. I saw the base games at the store early this summer but I didn't know these were coming out as well. I might pick up the marine set with the hidden chase captain.

I know a lot of people seem to like Blitzbowl, so it looks like it's good news for them.

Maybe. Having worked in big bookstores, they're going to hate these sets.
So many are going to be stolen.

Had an old manager that would describe the amount of 'shrinkage' in terms of the number of Porsches he could buy.

Oh, agreed. I too worked in a B&N a long time ago - soooo much stolen stuff.

Combat Arena is also unofficially compatible with GoreChosen.

It totally works and quite a few characters play differently from both games.

Khorne Champions versus Imperial Agents makes a lot more sense theme wise as well.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Already have both(and the Xmas '18 White Dwarf cards), so I'm definitely looking forward to these. A little biffed though that two of the teams should've been Nurgle or Wood Elf(Saurian is still new, so).

If this goes well, we might be able to see Shadespire bands for Deadfane, or the original BSF characters for Combat Arena.

Voss, Elbow- You guys must be unlucky. I live near two locations; neither have any thefts...but then again, city police usually hang out there.

They wouldn't tell you if there were thefts. Having worked in a bookstore in an upscale area...so much theft. Theft and floor-pooping, the constant companions of retail.

Our store was famous for old guys jerking it in the bathroom to the adult magazines. And this was in a well-to-do area in Pennsylvania...lol.

They waited to get into the bathrooms at your store? We had...cafe issues along those lines...involving eye contact.

Glad our store wasn't the only one...people love their B&N smut I s'pose.

Seriously... what's wrong with you people and your book stores in the US?!

I picked up the Undead team and just finished assembling it today, would have picked up the Halflings too but they were out of stock. Blitz Bowl is an excellently designed game and a ton of fun, it's really nice to see some support, though I wish GW would put out some sort of league rules in a WD or something.

Bookstores in the US appeal to the literate upper crust of retail customers. You want to see the real horrors, go to Walmart.

Just don’t expect to find any GW miniatures there. The Ferrari of miniatures have standards for their venues.

What I don't get is that the Space Marine sets were already available through Barnes and Noble a good month ago. At least through their website. Why announce it now?

This this this, a hundred times this. I work at a grocery store and there are plenty of...as you put it interesting...people who show up. Usually its just petty theft type stuff, or someone drunkenly dancing through the aisles, but sometimes its as fun as people deciding to drive their car into the store instead of getting a cart.

Can we just get back to the expansions?

Getting back on track, to those that managed to get the Space Marine sets; what do you recommend when they get put back up?

Are they out? Of the new three, I could only find the paint set online but not the two minis packs. They just weren't listed at all and not just out of stock (unless that changed). I'm actually at my local B&N right now and they're not here either but that availability is obviously not applicable everywhere.

yeah a local bookshop that sells D&D stuff ended up years ago putting all their gaming books behind the counter to combat theft.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Columbus, Oh

What I am struggling to understand about the Blitz Bowl teams are the Chaos team (which I got) that came with the stat cards for the team, but those are already in the Blitz Bowl core set.

I get that someone might buy the team without having that core set, but I have no idea what I will do with a second set of Chaos team cards..

“We’ve partnered with Barnes & Noble in North America”

Umm, B&N is only in the US. Why pretend it’s retailing to a whole continent when it’s not.

Barnes and Noble ships to all of North America, stop being petty about their wording.

It’s really cool that they’re doing successor chapters in the expansions for LofTN, never would I have expected to see official representation for the Celestial Lions unless they decided to revisit Third War for Armageddon.

B&N also ships worldwide if you use paypal to pay - there are verified people on BGG who have done so - although the usual caveats about shipping and import duties and such apply.

That said, I agree it is a bit surprising that Chaos and Skaven got packs. I'm also mildly miffed, in that Halflings are one of the team boxes where you don't need a second to max out your positionals, so I really don't want to get 6 more just for the cards. But on the other hand they are delightful models, so there's that.
