There's no grays, only white that's got grubby. I'm surprised you don't know that. And sin, young man, is when you treat people as things. That's what sin is.

We judge ourselves by what we feel we are capable of doing, while others judge us by what we have already done.
Change will never come about if you don't make it happen.
If strength is justice, is powerlessness a crime?
Everyone knows how to use lies. In front of family. In front of friends. In front of society. We all wear different masks. Is that a sin?
When will the war end? When someone wins.
Things that don't change go extinct.
For an anime series with a very juvenile sense of things at time, it can drop some one liners that both feel like stating the obvious but are also things I didn't really think much about before I saw it. There's probably much more profound media out there, but for me Code Geass was a piece of Media that had a profound effect on the kinds of questions I started asking myself when I was getting to old to still be young. I'd also have to give points to Mobile Suit Gundam OO and Lockon Stratos;
The only thing you can change about the past is how you feel about it in the present.

Out of the main trinity of Sir Terry self inserts Granny is head and pointy hat above Vimes and Death although my sig is a good one

Only issue with your sig, Death doesn't have quotation marks in his dialog. Neither does the Death of Rats. SQUEAK
These are my opinions. This is how I feel. Others may feel differently. This needs to be stated for some reason.

Yes, sometimes you can be a dead white knight who does no good or a somewhat dirty good guy who does some good. As long as you're less evil then what you're fighting you're doing some good instead of none.

If you've ever actually done boxing, you'll know your first 'lessons' are usually your coach beating the crap out of you to teach you how to drop your fear of being hit.
Life is bigger, meaner, and scarier than you'll ever be. See, the thing about it is? Life can hit you like a truck once, maybe twice. But just like boxing, you start to see the 'tells' for a certain punch, and you know what's coming and how to mitigate it. It might connect. If it does, it'll still hurt. But it's nothing new, you know what to do next, so you can keep going.
Few things in life are as disturbing as seeing someone smile while they've got a mouthpiece, because they know they can take what's being dished out to them.
Another of my favorites, one that still makes me soggy in my eyeballs...
Yeah, this one. A lot of this one.
Sometimes, it helps to have someone down in the hole. Just that they're there means the world.

I don’t know if it quite counts as profound, but there’s a great Dr Who quote from one of the Matt Smith Christmas specials (unfortunately I couldn’t find a clip), where the guest star is a young man and he asks for advice about his first kiss with his childhood sweetheart. The exchange goes something like:
Dr: plan on it being weird, wet and slippery.
Boy: urgh, really? Is that what kisses are supposed to be like?!
Dr: No, but it’s your first time, you won’t get it right, so you may as well make it part of the plan.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I always thought that was a brilliant piece of advice.

Man, thats just great for life in general lol.
I think some people dismiss what media has to say because, after all, its fake. and while that is true, people forget that media is written by, people.
All media exists because a writer wanted to say something, who knows what that something is or why, but that is why it exists.

"You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe."
I think that was G'Kar, but it may have been someone else. Definitely Babylon 5 though.
Also from that show:
"Vir, whatever it is, it can't be that bad."

There are so many in Pratchett’s oeuvre it’s hard to single any out.
“Wisdom comes from experience. Experience is often a result of lack of wisdom.”
“It's not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren't doing it.”
“ If you trust in yourself. . .and believe in your dreams. . .and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
“ The reason that the rich were so rich, Vimes reasoned, was because they managed to spend less money.
Take boots, for example. He earned thirty-eight dollars a month plus allowances. A really good pair of leather boots cost fifty dollars. But an affordable pair of boots, which were sort of OK for a season or two and then leaked like hell when the cardboard gave out, cost about ten dollars. Those were the kind of boots Vimes always bought, and wore until the soles were so thin that he could tell where he was in Ankh-Morpork on a foggy night by the feel of the cobbles.
But the thing was that good boots lasted for years and years. A man who could afford fifty dollars had a pair of boots that'd still be keeping his feet dry in ten years' time, while the poor man who could only afford cheap boots would have spent a hundred dollars on boots in the same time and would still have wet feet.
This was the Captain Samuel Vimes 'Boots' theory of socioeconomic unfairness.”
So, so many.

Another quote from Sean Penn from the movie The Game: They f*** you, and they f*** you, and they f*** you. And just when you think it's over, that's when the real f***ing begins.

as my grey matter dissolves like a sponge in a washing machine I often cant link clever-bobbins to its inspiration like i used to unless like The Good Place it comes with tags
That said the whole I like the So-crates bit in the first Bill and Ted about "true wisdom comes from admitting you know nothing" whilst being a slight bending of a second hand source; a) totally fits the movie b) tragically predictive of how things are nowadays with "i dont know" being replaced by "i ( baselessy) reckon"
"AND YET YOU ACT AS IF THERE IS SOME IDEAL ORDER IN THE WORLD, AS IF THERE IS SOME...SOME RIGHTNESS IN THE UNIVERSE BY WHICH IT MAY BE JUDGED."

Hmm. How about every third line of Frank Herbert's Dune series?
I thought always thought this one was particularly beautiful:
The flesh surrenders itself, he thought. Eternity takes back its own. Our bodies stirred these waters briefly, danced with a certain intoxication before the love of life and self, dealt with a few strange ideas, then submitted to the instruments of Time. What can we say of this? I occurred. I am not . . . yet, I occurred.
