Crypt Hunters
Spoiler:

One of you controls team of elite Stormcast Eternals and their loyal Gryph-hound,* Valiant, as they explore the Ten Thousand Tombs in search of an ancient relic. The other player creates the dungeon and commands an unending legion of Chainrasps, desperate to stop Sigmar’s servants in their tracks.
Crypt Hunters is perfect for a quiet night in with a friend, pitting the two of you against each other in a fun and fast experience lasting about a half hour. Each adventure is different since you build the game board as you go. All of the models are cast in coloured, push-fit plastic so you can assemble them and get playing right away!

Find out everything you need to know about the game on the Crypt Hunters website.

Rise of the Orks
Spoiler:

Play solo or with up to 4 friends in cooperative play. Utilise the unique skills and weapons of each member of your squad and work together to win! In the box, you’ll find everything you need to play exciting games, each lasting just a half hour or so – once you learn the rules.
Keen-eyed readers will notice these models are from the Space Marine Heroes range. Each of them is cast in coloured plastic for ease of gameplay, but if you’re looking for an awesome set of Terminator models to paint, this is a great way to pick them up – along with a bonus game!

Bring Space Marine Adventures: Rise of the Orks to your gaming nights if you’re looking for an action-packed experience in the far future – and check out the website for a closer look.

Blitz Bowl: Season Two
Spoiler:

Blitz Bowl is all about smaller teams, different challenges, and faster games. Your players are competing in The Crush to gain the attention of a major franchise and ultimately get recruited to play in the big leagues!
In Season 2, the rules have been polished to perfection, and just like Season 1, it comes with everything you need to play, including Human and Dwarf teams, the pitch, accessories, and cards.

Blitz Bowl – Season 2 is perfect if you want to bring some fast-paced fantasy sporting action to your table. Find out more about it on the game’s dedicated website.

Availability:
All of these games are a great way to introduce your friends and family to the worlds of Warhammer. They’re easy to learn, quick to play, and feature awesome miniatures alongside quality art and components.

They’ll be available to purchase very soon, both online and in stores, from select retailers. In North America, you’ll find these titles only at Barnes & Noble. German gamers can pick them up in Thalia Bücher GmbH and Mayersche Buchhandlung, with GameStop Germany also stocking them from later in 2020. In the UK, Game shops will be exclusively distributing Space Marine Adventures: Rise of the Orks.

Versteckt in den Schatten deines Geistes.

So, Lost Patrol by way of AoS, another game that uses some of the Space Marine Heroes minis (the BA ones this time, vs Orks rather than the originals vs Necrons), and a new Blitz Bowl using the newer minis.

Decent enough selection.

Wonder if anyone has used Blitzbowl as a pre-season method to create custom Star Player types?

Is there any info on the German release date of Blitz Bowl S2? Rumoured? I was on the site linked on the commubity site, but my phone didn't display it properly.

I was *this* close to buying my nephews S1 this week as a bd gift, I was just waiting for an ok from my sister.

Orks and Season 2 are a go, but I'm really not thrilled that Blitzbow may have just undead cards(compared to season 1's five extra packs). I'll also get Crypt Hunters if it'll get them to make a Gangs of Commorragh thing for AoS.

I love how the Orks game, like the Necrons one before it, does not actually contain models of the named enemy.

A nice way to get new Terminators though. Will they have been redesigned to remove Blood Angels iconography?

I picked up the previous Space Marine Adventures game, with the Necron counters. It's not worth the cost for the miniatures, they're overpriced.

It was, of course, very disappointing as an actual game - not even worth attempting to revise the rules for a decent game

Rise of the Orks looks to be the same principle, with hexes instead of squares.

If it is, these make me sad. I actually like their games like Betrayal at Calth, Space Hulk, Overkill and Blackstone Fortress, but these are such toss-offs that the only things of value in them IS the minis, and they're badly priced at that.

And anything based on Lost Patrol needs to be purged with copious amounts of Promethium.

It never ends well

From what I can tell, it looks like most of them don't have sculpted on iconography.

Only image I can find quickly of all 9 that isn't from Spikeybits or BoLS:

These are bait and hook sets, intended to reach an audience outside of GW’s usual reach. From there, hope for the Heroquest trip. Even if it doesn’t, the moulds are all long paid for, so they’re a low cost toe in new waters.

I really wish GW would just drop the "North America" pretense and just state USA. There are no Barnes and Noble stores in Canada.

First off, while I paid full retail for Space Marine Adventures, I managed to pick up the supplements at half price from B&N in Seattle (score!), so I was REALLY happy with the value of the game.

Having said that, I would never have felt this game to be a waste of money even if I'd paid full price. It's basically a sort of infection/pandemic game where the Necrons are a disease infesting the board and your Space Marines are the antibodies fighting the infection, and I think it plays pretty well. The different difficulty levels really make a difference to your success and the game offers meaningful player decisions at most steps of a play-through.

More importantly than any of this though, my 7-year old LOVES this game and can get really excited when we have a nail-biting conclusion to a hard-fought campaign.

Thanks for that. I must admit that I never really looked them up as the Series 2 release and thought they would be more Blood Angels centric. I must have had the Space Hulk models in mind.

With one of Barnes and Noble’s 30% coupons, these games look much more attractive.

Would get all three but only Rise of the Orks is avaliable in the UK. Can't GW stores sell these games in the UK?

Lost Patrol was just let down by a dreadful and lazy 2nd edition but was easily modifed into a cracking game. Crypt Hunters seems to have more in the way of cards, tokens and character stats, which already suggests an improvement over LP. Can't wait for the reviews on this one and the play throughs.

Rise of the Orks looks a bit like a travel edition of BSF? Always nice to have co-op games.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

I think in the past they explained it had something to do with production agreements or the like?

Do wish they were more easily available though.

It was something like that IIRC - certain stores would only stock it if it's their exclusive for so long, and GW want their brand in the big stores.

See, I'm remembering something more in the line of it being tied to the overseas manufacturer. But that's possible too.

Are the models in Crypt Hunters and Blitz Bowl new? Or just re-issue of existing stuff?

Reissues.

Crypt Hunters are the Castigator Easy to Build set(which includes a Gryph-Hound randomly) and the Chainrasps from the Soul War/ETB set.
Blitz Bowl is just colored plastic versions of the teams it looks like.

I wonder how much the AoS game is compared to buying those sets separately.

Chainrasps are $40 for 10.
The Castigator set is $15.

I'm ballparking Crypt Hunters at $35ish, but we'll have to wait and see I guess?

I bought a copy of space marine adventures but haven’t bothered to play it yet.

I did think it was a very clever touch how each of the Marines was an appropriate color for their chapter.

It was like $40 at target or some thing. I think it’s a very clever marketing job by games workshop.

I thought there'd be orks in a game called Rise of the Orks.

£35 for 5 minis and a game is kinda on the pricier side but I do like the terminators so wouldn't really complain in getting them, although I do have the servo skull termie already.

Yeah seems too pricey imo. I was thinking maybe I'd buy the new Bloodbowl for my sister's kids this Christmas, thought for a second that one of these might be a good alternative but the price is discouraging.

Combat Arena was something like $40 American, further discounted by a 30% off coupon, and contained 5 character minis, including a Rogue Trader, Imperial psyker, Inquisition Crusader, and a tech priest with servitor. That’s better value than most GW kits.

Where does one get a 30% coupon for BN?

Are those termie sculpts from that gashapon line last year or new ones? I see that they are obviously painted in certain chapter colors but I can't make out if they're modelled with icons that match or if they're blank chapter slates.

It's been a LONG time since I got one but likely the pandemic and the store being closed in my area for months contributed to that. They reliably send them out during the Christmas season though if you're subscribed to their email newsletter list (with or without the paid membership that gets you an additional bonus discount and free shipping).
