Warhammer crops up regularly on The Daily Mash and Newsthump. I rather enjoyed this recent one...

Slapdash research, nobody breaks up fights on Dakka (well maybe mods but even that's locking threads and the odd trip to the naughty step)

We had threads on the influence of 2000AD and Dr Who on Warhammer in the last month or so, I guess someone is a regular reader!

The article is clearly intended to mock nerds, but there are plenty of women who are interested in “nerd culture” who pursue men with similar interests. This article reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer goes to college and is stuck thinking in the outdated paradigm of unpopular nerds vs popular jocks.

Not really. The Mash has run a number of these spoof articles on Warhammer over the past decade or so, and it's clear there's a lot of both affection and knowledge in their mockery.

Yeah, it's almost universally the kind of mockery that you can only do if you REALLY know the subject. Which means you're mocking yourself. Which is fine, in my book.
