OK, it has been a good while since I've updated my old thread, so I think it is clearer to just start a new one at this point.

★ ★ ★

Here are some of pictures of my new Space Marine chapter, the Void Hunters. I really love the Primaris models, and they have been absolute joy to work with. With this new chapter I decided to embrace the tacticool, and instead spicing it with the usual gothic, I added some feral flavouring. When creating this chapter I went back to the old source material, to the Rogue Trader, and I tried to capture some of the feel marines had back then. A bit more gritty penal legionaries and less baroque space knights. So this is some sort of blend of the oldest and newest marine flavours.

Some barely noticeable gender equality here with a Statuesque Miniatures head. (Please don't debate the concept in this thread.)

I really like how he good old beakie helmets look on Phobos armour, and I'll definitely be using that combination on more models.

I gave Hellblasters yellow guns in emulating the classic Black Templar custom of having yellow casings on special and heavy weapons.

I also made some art of Void Hunters. This is a traditional painting coloured with computer.

This is a digital work done for 28 Magazine's female Space Marine contest.

Mores stuff at my Instagram, (mostly art.) I will try to remember update this tread, but I think the Insta account will be more frequently updated.

I have a ton of WIPs, but I need to get around d taking some photos.

Recently I've been working on building a small Sisters of Battle force. These new models are absolutely wonderful. I wanted them to look like battle worn rag-tag crusaders, so kitbashed them with Repentia and Cawdor. I also built a Missionary.

Not sure if it is related to the most recent bout of server-fall-over-itis, but none of those images appear to be working for me, either here or in the gallery.

True, it seems that a lot of the gallery isn't working at the moment...

The server problems are pretty annoying, as they're happening quite frequently as of late.

On the actual models, great jobs on display here. The subtle and understated conversion with the Hunters bring them a lot of character without veering into comical.

One would however recommend less stark lighting while photographing them, as some of the current pictures are somewhat hard to make out.

As the Primaris are so uniform, a big part of the fun was to try to personalise them a bit.

Yeah, I noticed that once I uploaded them on computer, but then I didn't bother to redo them.

Great posts! I love how gritty and individual you’ve made your intercessors and the Sisters seem to be heading in the same direction

The changes really help give the Sisters a rougher edge. Great realization of the concept.

Third intercessor squad. Six members in case I ever want to run a ten person squad and need to omit on sergeant.

And Reivers. Visually the Reivers probably are my favourite Primaris unit.

The line between try-hard tacticool and realistic future soldier is often a state of mind and a paint job. Reivers catch a lot of flack, most of it undeserved IMHO. The fact that their rules have pretty much always been hot garbage does not help. I love the way yours turned out. Your worn and gritty style really brings out their strengths.

With all the rumours of upcoming guard releases, I've been thinking about continuing my fledgling IG force, I kinda want to wait and see what the new models will bring.

I repainted one of my Leman Russ battle tanks. The old scheme was kinda brownish grey, and it looked fine enough, but I wanted a colour that better contrasts with all the dirt and rust. It has a slightly extended hull, which I feel gives it a tad more realistic look.

An ancient WIP shot that shows where the extensions were added. Tracks extended by 1,4 cm, hull by 1,7 cm.

This is my test model for my new guard look. I wanted something that whilst still evoking historical world wars feel, also looks recognisably scifi. I might also give different units with somewhat different uniform. This type of shorter coats for mechanised units and then the new Kriegers with long coats for backfield campers. Though I'd give them scion heads and some techy bits unify the look.

Guard in that style would be fantastic.

Really cool looking project! I like the hull extensions on the LR tank. Reminds me of the tank from forge world (macharius I think?) Infantry looking pretty ace too. Excited to see more of what you do with them.

Great work! I love the battle damage and grit you put into all your models, it really sells the rugged character. That Tank conversion and paint job is excellent, IG style with just enough converted flair

If you want a great source of trench fighter personal weapons the Necromunda Enforcers have some heavy revolvers that could match your themes

Loving the tweaks to the Leman Russ - it certainly looks better than the stock option. I'm always amazed at what a slight change to the IG armor can do to make the vehicles both look better and somehow seem more 'realistic'

That Russ extension is cleverly done. As gobert said, seamless. It looks like it could fit a crew of 6 now!

I've been painting stuff sporadically, but I kinda skipped the ninth edition gaming-wise, so there really was no pressure to get anything finished. Getting back to the game now, so stuff needs to be completed.
Though it seems that I have neglected this thread, and haven't posted some stuff here. Fixing that momentarily.

These models were finished a while back, but I apparently forgot to post them here.

Inceptors.

Vindicator. This is actually a refurbishing and repaint of my old vindicator, which I might have posted in the old tread ages ago.

And then a squad of the new IG. These are painted pretty sloppily, as if I actually want an army of them I would need to paint a million of them.

The dirty white looks amazing! And I love the filthy pale blue on the guardsmen. And you keep the balance perfect without over-detailing the model. Do you have a process for weathering which helps to keep you from taking it too far?

My secret is that weathering is way easier than painting cleanly! So I just add weathering until it distracts enough from my otherwise mediocre painting. 😂

In any case, more stuff! Redemptor dreadnought. I initially didn't like how the new Primaris dreads looked, but with some converting I am very pleased with it. I made several alterations to make the proportions of the Redemptor more similar to the classic Castraferrum. The leg armour is extended, the sides of the main body are raises, shoulders are raised, and then of course some cables added.
