I suppose it's too much to hope that this licensing deal will at some point include the Leviathans as well...?
Seems a shame to let those glorious plastics go to waste.

If the Leviathans came back, I'd expect the kits to be extremely simplified. That being said, they probably make more sense in resin than plastic. That is unless there can be a game that makes use of them.

I bought my knights during the kickstarter and was sad to see the product line being discontinued. I'm glad that a new manufacturer has the license and will be continuing to support this range.
I wish you guys well with this endeavor.

Any chance we can get a peak at the sprues?

I admit I never bought any because of the price point (and by the time they were on sale they sold out in a flash).
At the price Wargames Atlantic has though I'm definitely tempted.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy. |

Quick thought:. If they bring back the leviathans, and simplify them, I think they should be rescaled too. If the 28mm ones were about 80%scale of what they were then they'd be the same size as a GW Knight. I think that would work out well.

I hope they get a few different infantry factions out first. The Leviathans were cool, but in the age of 3D printing, and after the DFG liquidation sale, I’m not sure they can make a profitable Leviathan kit. I’d hate to see them over-commit without a solid safety net.

That was always the biggest issue with them... They were slightly too large for a knight, and too small for a titan. Although the size is less of an issue now, with all the extra classes of knight that have been added in. Still, a slightly shrunk, simplified version would be pretty darn awesome.

Also, if WGA is taking suggestions for Deathfields kits, the Chindits, or taking them from the pages of Ranks of Bronze Roman legionaries of the late Republic.
Ghurka's are still in the development pipeline. more info as i get it.
BobtheInquisitor wrote:Lord Marcus, if you are developing a sprue or head variants, could we get a Valkir-Knight-style head sized to fit on an Eisenkern body as an alternative to the German helmets? I’d also love to see a head with an elaborate, high-peaked cap, much more highly peaked than the DFG Eisenkern officer hats.
I will pass this along

Seems a shame to let those glorious plastics go to waste.
Everything not eisenkern or the jagers will depend on sales, but maybe.
stonehorse wrote:Stop tempting me... They would make great Imperial Guard Storm Troopers.

The kit is still being tweaked. We'll have a sprue pic as soon as we are able.
Theophony wrote:I just hope the tiny hands don’t get tinier and still be separate. They made parts from Malifaux kits look gigantic.
I am not part of the kit development team, but from what i have been told scaling is approx 2% less than the earlier plastics.

Will they be cut the same way as they were by WGF for DFG? I had assumed they would instead be cut like the Grognards and Raumsjagers, with torsos connected to legs and/or arms connected to weapons.

@lord marcus: any idea when the spiders and the Einherjar are going to be available in the UK?
With the germans we got the "tracking" of the shipment to the warehouses, but this time it is already around the time mentioned in the website but no info on them being on the way.
Have they shipped from the factory?

I do like how the new ones are resized to make them more streamlined and less chunky than the originals. They might have only changed by 2%, but I think it makes a definite visual change to the miniature.

It’s really hard to tell with one being painted and the other being raw plastic though. I can see slimmer thighs and slight alterations on the helmet, but I think they will match up great with all of my plastic ones.
I really like the change to the gun as well. I use the guns from mine to use for Gaslands car weapons.
My resin and plastic Dreamforce leviathans have been wanting more brethren to play with.

I'm hoping they'll actually blend well enough with the old ones to introduce some height variation without being painfully obvious; I get why part compatibility means that most soldiers in a given range are the same basic height, but diversity there would be no bad thing IMO.
Does mean I should look at sourcing some standardized bases for old and new though.

The WGA does look sleeker, and I like that look better. However, the chunker one might be a better representation of an armored man; carapace armor is bulky. Look at modern US troops with their body armor.

A bit more info from facebook comments in regard to how they're cut compared to the other WGA stuff since there are fewer (20) in a box

They have more parts per figure. Split torsos. Backpacks. Sometimes split legs.

The Dreamforge sales never really worked for us outside the US - any savings on the kits were offset by shipping costs.
So I'm very excited to see the Eisenkern available again. They really raised the standard in 2013, especially with the accessory sprue. They're still great kits - detailed, flexible.
The weapons options were the only real weakness - good to see that WGA is addressing that.
The Panzerjagers are the ones I missed, I have an entire army of the basic troops, but I can see a "Not Star Wars" stormtrooper Eisenkern force in my future...

If they follow the original molds yes, they have more parts per figure than most. I have a sizeable force of the original plastics and there are the sitting kneeling ones are split into the hips for the kneeling and crouching poses. standing legs were solid. torsos were front plat back plate then add the back pack arms and weapons were separate as well as heads as seen by fatigue caps or the helmet/masks. some of the slimmer WGA minis would make for fitted skinnier troopers.

I’m more excited for the Panzerjagers than the Eisenkern stormtroopers, as the originals sold out so quickly.
If there are optional heads that are appropriately armored* and dispense with the stahl helm look, I’d be likely to pick up twice as many Eisenkern. The armor and weapons are perfect for stormtroopers/elites/Inq troops, but the current helmet style is limiting.
*I don’t think the Grognard helmets would work, nor Mantic’s GCPS rangers.

They are en route. we will have a progress update most likely next week. I apologize for the vague answer, but things are in flux.
