Trojans an idea though. I do like the idea of this just being used to breach a defensive line, dropping a forward assault ramp and a fully armed and slightly ticked off Terminator squad charging out.

Sounds like the perfect vehicle for the XII Legion then Another idea for the name might be the Landraider Gladiator. This variant was a gift from the Adeptus Mechanicus to the World Eaters for their conquest of a technotopia that yielded a significant cache of STC data. The image above shows the last remaining Gladiator known to be operational was present at the Siege of Terra, and records indicate its moniker as Secutor.

Other names that have a gladiatorial theme include;
Essedarius - The essedarius (from the Latin word for a Celtic war-chariot, essedum) was likely first brought to Rome from Britain by Julius Caesar. Essedarii appear as arena-fighters in many inscriptions after the 1st century AD. No pictorial representations exist
Thraex - The Thraex (plural Thraeces, "Thracians") wore the same protective armour as the hoplomachi with a broad-rimmed helmet that enclosed the entire head, distinguished by a stylized griffin on the protome or front of the crest (the griffin was the companion of the avenging goddess Nemesis), a small round or square-shaped shield (parmula), and two thigh-length greaves. His weapon was the Thracian curved sword (sica or falx, c. 34 cm or 13 in long). They were introduced as replacements for the Gauls after Gaul made peace with Rome. They commonly fought Myrmillones or Hoplomachi.
Venator - The venator "("hunter") specialized in wild animal hunts instead of fighting them as the bestiarii did. As well as hunting they also performed tricks with animals such as putting an arm in a lion's mouth, riding a camel while leading lions on a leash, and making an elephant walk a tightrope.[31] Technically they were not gladiators.

You could shorten it to Darius, may mean something completely different though

Right, I started this guy a couple of months ago to enter into a comp on Throne of Skulls. I've not been able to complete him in time and time isn't on my side due to work etc at the moment, so I'm just gonna show him here. He's my counts as Blood Thirster. I don't particularly like the standard GW model I feel it's in dire need of an update so took it upon myself to knock one up. Let me know what you think. Obviously he's still very WIP I still need to gs his hooves etc

Some excellent, inspired builds in here, but I'm not gonna lie. After reading the title I got all excited thinking that someone had acted on my idea for a Rob Zombie themed CSM army. Sad face.

Looks so, so much better than the gw one. Kind of a mini FW thirster. Only thing I dont like are the feet. I think the HT hooves would have been great with some GS hair on em, or some minotaur if you have em kicking around.

Bossfearless, sorry for disappointing but thank you for checking this out.

Whalemusic, like I say I've still to sculpt the hooves. The bits there at the moment are just to give me a base. I used the flying HT legs hence the reason I haven't kept the original feet.

Nashbashem, as always mate thanks for the support

It's a very nice conversion so far, but I noticed some nitpicky things

The legs are cool, but I think it adds too many rounded edges, which makes the overall theme of it feel more Slaanesh/Tzeentch to me. There need to be more brutal, hard lines to bring out the Khornate flavor. I think adding some over the top pauldrons might do the trick. Another thing you could do is add some 90 degree angled blades to the outer edges of the leg armor. This is strictly my opinion of course

That lash needs to come forward some, to make it more dynamic. Right now it feels like it's too heavy for the Bloodthirster and the weight of it is causing his wrist to go backwards. Bloodthirsters ain't no cupcakes, so bring that whip forward like it's lashing out

"Orkses never lost a battle. If we win we win, if we die we die fighting so it don't count. If we runs for it we don't die neither, cos we can come back for annuver go, see!"

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

Dez, thanks for the critique I dunno about the pauldrons or the leg blades. I have plans to alter the armour on the legs slightly to bring it more in line with te upper armour.

As for the lash I had posed him to look like he is mid swing with the whip, that's why it's angled back slightly. I'm not so sure it reads exactly as I pictured it though ?

I wish I could tell you exactly what looks 'wrong' about the whip, I'm having a hard time figuring it out. I think it's perhaps angled too far back in the hand? For example, there would be a bit more handle on it, so it would be straight on the grip and then taper backwards.

For what I was thinking on the legs, look at the first picture. the left arm, you can see the wing tips under the arm and they look like blades (kinda like Batman). I think that may be a good idea to bring to the leg armor.

Your stuff is very inspiring btw, and you work fast!

Looking great so far! When I saw the whip angled backwards, I assumed it was mid-swing, I think you pulled it off well, the part right at the hand does look a bit off though, Like Dez said. But I know you're not done with it yet.

The only thing I don't like is the wings. They are my least favorite of GW plastic wings. But I also know about using what you have. I have them on one of my Daemon Princes too, so no worries about that.

I like how you put him on a taller base to get him taller than the other DP. Looking good. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Something you could do on the wings is mess with the trailing edges a little- smooth or sharpen the nicks in the edge, sharpen the 'fingers' that poke out of it... And on the leading edge (the wing 'arm') you could add little armour plates like what're on the legs and arms.

Another inspired build. It shames the GW Bloodthirster and fits in well w/ the rest of your project.

Initially the lash seemed a bit wonky to me as well but on closer inspection I saw the 'movement'. It looks like he's already cracked something with it and is hauling back to give them another taste of Khornate brutality.

I hope IRL settles down for you so you can get back to important stuff like feeding us updates with new awesome stuff.

Thanks for the honest replies folks. Here's an early WIP pic of the Thirster that shows where the whip is heading. I will be adding more of a grip to it.

The wings do bug me but as is mentioned I've got to work with what I have. The reason I'm showing him is I don't feel I could do it justice in the limited time frame of the contest so I pulled out. I'm hoping I get some more time soon as I've got a few things to work on.

I received a delivery from Subtle Discord so I can start rebuilding the Gorehound with some awesome new bits.

I want to finish the Thirster.

I've started kitbashing a proxy helblade using the base from the warshrine, some Valkyrie wings and a few other bits.

I've also ordered the new Storm Wing bundle with the two Storm Talons and a Storm Raven.

I've also got another unit of Berzerkers to build and paint as well as my Kharn counts as.

The two superheavies need finishing as well.

My Raptors need paint.

So just a few things to do. Haha

Haha I get 4 hour blocks of sleep.
I ordered the chapter house extension and some of their skull rhino doors for another project. Im hoping to achieve something Storm Eagle ish.

I'm thinking of having a go at a plastic thunderhawk conversion using two Storm Ravens at some point in the future as well but that will be for when I kickstart my Imperials again.

You've disguised the Tyranid parts really well man. Looks absolutely brutal! What are the hooves made out of?

I bought a pair of Balrog wings many moons ago. If I can find them I'd happily send you them good sir. I've been tidying my 40k stash and I have far too much crap lying around. If I come across them in the next few days I'll let you know. My original plan was to put them on the FW Daemon Prince, but seeing as I'm very unlikely to buy one, you'd probably be better of putting them to some use!

I've used the spiked balls from the end of the Defiler ccw as base. I will be putting some GS over them. I've added GS hair to the back of the legs as well.

As for the Balrog wings that would be awesome, what you looking for them? We can trade or I can send cash hit me up with a pm and we can discuss it. I prob won't use them on this but I'm planning a conversion based on the Ghorgon/Cygor kit and they could be a good scale for that.

If I find them I'll let you know. Should hopefully come across them before Friday. Tidying madness. The danger of a loft is that you can seal it away for weeks at a time and forget about the state you left it in... no more of that unfortunately!

That would be awesome mate. If you can't find them no worries.
I made a start on my Heldrake stand in. I'm sure I've said before I'm really not fond of the whole mecha dragon thing. While it's a nice model it really doesn't fit with my army aesthetic. I took some spare bits and part of a Storm Talon and came up with this today. Needs chaosifying still but I quite like how it looks so far.

I'm watching this particular project with great interest. I refuse to buy the 'what would happen if a WFB dragon and a Pokemon had a kid' Heldrake model. Ugh. But I'm still interested in at least fielding a flyer at some point and have wanted to build my own version. I have no idea of the size comparison as I've never seen one in person but this I do know and considering the fluff I could see a Talon being warped by Chaos, but turned into a dragon? Yeah, whatever.

Looking forward to this a lot.

Spoiler:

The wings on yours brought the dropship from elysium to mind. The inhuman look of that drop ship would work well with chaosification, I think.
