So here is my next foray, a squad of Raptors. Trying my hand at OSL without using my airbrush. What do you guys think, enough or a bit more?

Just a bit brighter and you're good, I think.

The Raptor models are so awesome. I don't feel the need to own many Chaos models these days, but it has been very hard to keep from making up some half-baked project that would need these.

Raptor and his plasma gun look good! I never attempted OSL myself, but maybe put a little of the blue very lightly on the metal surrounding the plasma spools? I think, it would round that effect out very nicely.

I think it works. I like the little touch you added near the muzzle of the gun.

The eyes on the guy to the right are awesome.

Nice job on the OSL! Did you use thin layers or did you drybrush the bits away from the coils?

I always struggle getting a vibrant gold, but yours look nice and shiny, what paints do you use?

@Gobert I used thin layers to build up to a white at the end. For my gold it’s actually pretty simple, retributor armour with a nuln oil wash. Let dry then back with the gold on the raised areas.

Thanks guys really appreciate the comments. Finished up the Raptors, tried to keep the scheme simple and quick. Here they are finished up plus a quick pic of them vs some Tau.

Those raptors look really good. Though, I have gotten way too used to Chaos plasma being orange.

Nice seeing the whole raptor squad together. OSL is looking real good, especially from the angle in the picture vs. the Tau

Turned out great. They look ready to stomp the greater good out of those Tau. The blue glow does look very effective in that last shot.

I like the blue plasma, really sells them to me.

Are the Tau pink? Or I should that just a color trick with the other colors. Either way the deserve to be stomped. I don’t like anime in my Grimdark .

Thanks guys glad you like them. As for the greater good I am afraid Theo will be disappointed in me. A few years ago I saw someone had painted up a Pink hello kitty army so... here is my interpretation.

I dunno, I think the pink is a nice color for these Tau. At least it's original.

I really like this. It's very coral, which works in my brain for tau.

The Pink Tau look great together. It really is a nice scheme and as it’s been even said, very original.

I had started painting a small cadre of Grey Knights pink...the Gay Knights....I thought better of it as I didn’t want to insult anyone’s orientation, just a bad play on words taken to miniature form.

@Theo I figured you were just being salty . When I first brought it to the local meta it got a few laughs but most really seemed to like it. Tau are either liked or hated not to much in between. Probably because they can shoot you off the board by turn2, not much fun in my opinion.

On to my next project, a Black Legion Chaos lord with jump pack and 2 chain swords. He is armed with a relic sword that gives 2 additional attacks and will do mortal wounds when rolling a 6 on the to wound roll. He will have mark of khorne to give him additional attacks on the charge. Should be a beatstick in close combat.

Eh, there are WAY more horrifying shades of pink that one could use to burn an opponent's eyes. I like the multi-toning on the Kroot.
