I love this game but I am not happy at all about game support. A plethora of miniatures is still missing and only 2 supplements in 4 years (I guess). Surely it is not the most successful game Osprey and Northstar ever produced but at the same time they do not push it in any way.

It doesn't need a constant barrage of new supplements. New minis are on the way, but they will take time as its not like Northstar have millions sitting there to take the risk of making the entire range in plastic kits from day one.

There is a good steady set of small updates that is put out by Joe for the game, which is pretty decent considering its not even his game any more (as he left working for Osprey). He's put these out on his blog or in his 'Old bones' magazine.

It would be nice to see more miniatures put out, but there are enough plastic kits out there that pretty much everything is already covered for the game anyway.

I could really use some heavy humans. I've painted several buckets of the existing stuff. Really love this range.

Human Militia/Rangers per Northstar's sale e-mail.
This is going to be a bumper year for Oathmark. We plan to release at least three new Plastic box sets, the Human Militia/ Rangers, the Orc Heavy Infantry and the Elf Heavy Infantry. All three will come with metal characters as normal.

and
Frostgrave will have a new plastic box set, Cultists II. There's also a new supplement in the first half of 2024, it's not 'new figure heavy', so we won't have a massive figure release to go with it, but we're trying to coincide the book with the new plastic figures. Stargrave has a new plastic box set; Scavengers II, being made right now, and that will come with some new metal characters.

Hmmm I think I'd rather use MESBG rangers...

Excited for girl cultists and girl scavengers but not really for any of the upcoming Oathmark kits. Would prefer them branching into a new race, or plastic monstrous infantry. Heck, North Star already makes plastic Gnolls and Snakemen, make a second kit of either of those and turn them into a fully fledged faction.

I like the hooded heads. I hop there is enough for all or most on the sprue. I really dislike their non-helmeted heads on the human infantry set.

I am excited for Cultists II and Scavengers II (I know not Oathmark related). On a side note, I got a box of Oathmark orcs... my intention being to use WA heads and make them human mercs... I was not very successful though as the models are hunched and a bit barrel chested so despite the heads being roughly correct size-wise, they look very tiny on the orc bodies... and the orc arms are very long, so while arent overly "orcy" they dont give a good human look to the overall model.

Orc were a big dissapointment for me. Basically upright Goblins. IMO Elves, Dwarves and Undead are the best Oathmark products, although I like Goblin slaves too.

Agreed. I have 3 more sprues though, so may just have them for half-orc bad guys in RPGS.

Good idea! Check Lasting Tales solo/co-op miniatures game as there are half-orc playable as heroes.

I actually like that the Orcs are upright goblins, I plan on using them to make more book accurate Uruk Hai for Middle Earth games.

Excited about more female miniatures. North Star are my favourite figure producer now.

What does the neck join on the orcs look like? I'm sure you could get a human head to fit.

Can't wait to get the new sets into the store. Cavalry are on the way now from my distributor.

Its a ball... its kind of like a smooshed ball that sticks out a bit... Its easy enough to cut to accept the WA heads... the Fireforge northmen heads are probably better size-wise for them.

Great news!

I was hoping Oathmark would add some unarmoured Humans. I love how characterful the heads are, which is why I generally use Frost/Star/Oathmark heads over any of the Fireforge heads (I do like their bodies and arms though).

More Cultists is great news too.

I bought a box of Orcs, but I have not made up my mind about them yet. I think the thin arms bother me.

Judging by the author's personal blog and some of the rules commentary, if it's up to him, then it is unlikely to happen as he really seems to dislike having any of the "out there" races in his setting. Although I agree that the Oathmark would greatly benefit from some more unique profiles for the units.

You should look at A Song of Ice and Fire Targaryen Pit Fighters (bare arm bare leg sand raggedy armor) or Greyjoy Stony Shore Pillagers (more standard dark ages attire but mismatched weapons). I also use my Bolton Cuthroats or Stormcrow mercs as mercs in other games. Bloody mummers also work well imo.

Funnily enough I ended up liking the Orc kit more than I thought. The chunkier arms makes it easier to use them with slightly larger scale miniatures.

I don't like any of the Oathmark human kits. The heads seem too large to my eye, and the horses are some of the worst I've seen. The rangers/militia suffer from the same problem. Hooded heads almost always look bad on multipart miniatures when turned to the side.

I'm glad they are releasing more kits though. More bits available is always good.I hope they keep expanding their existing races. I'm really looking forward to the Orc Heavy infantry!

I really like the Ork kit. It is reminiscent of the Orks as they are described in the Orks fantasy books (Stan Nicholas) as more humanoid, it's nice to have the alternative.

I was looking forward to the unarmoured Humans, however I am disappointed to see so many of the bodies have capes.

Looks like only 1 of the bodies is capeless.

I just saw a picture of the sprue on facebook, sadly they all have capes.

The Oathmark human infantry without the capes are more versatile than the ones with capes.

I am very disappointed that all of them have capes as I was looking forward to making some simple peasants out of the kit.

I wasn't expecting Orc heavy infantry but I've seen the Elf heavy infantry art around and have been waiting for them for ages.

The Human rangers look pretty good, could use some posing work when putting them together. I'll probably buy some for MESBG.

Been Around the Block

Very excited for the releases this year - the Elf Heavy Infantry art is wonderful and if it translates well to the models I think it will be my favorite Oathmark box.

The Human Light Infantry is going to be great for bashing three ways with the Infantry/Cavalry sprues, which mainly suffer from repetition of heads/arms. I'm a little disappointed that they hedged on the side of "ranger" instead of "militia" with the bodies, since too many Oathmark figures make for really awkward archers oddly holding up a single arrow or hugging their bow to their belly and I vastly prefer the way they look assembled with melee weapons. If only the rules were written for Human "scouts" instead of "rangers", I think we would've gotten a more ramshackle looking body without full cloaks for them all.

The sprue looks good. i am happy that there is enough hooded heads for all... as I dont like the helmeted heads... even these the helmeted heads look almost a different scale to the hooded ones. I like the weapons, Kind of wish there was at least 1 more spear on the sprue. with 5 sprues to a box, 5 spears out of 30 is not ideal. I dont mind the cloaks, but agree that without the cloaks they would have been more versatile.

These bodies will also make great apprentice wizards when combined with the wizard box.

Ooh, that's great news; I was just in the process of planning some SAGA Age of Magic warbands, and while I loved the look of Oathmark's orcs (more so than the goblins), I was looking for some suitable elites to go with them as "Hearthguard". Instead of struggling to find out or simply praying whether some other manufacturer's minis will fit the bill, I will instead just wait a few months and have something that will likely be perfect for the job!
