Okay. Here is what I would do

1) Drop the prices of everything by aprroximately 20%. I have so many friends who say "I would do it, but it's too expensive". If, by doing this, and even getting another quarter of sales on top of what they have already, profits SHOULD skyrocket.

2) Random bitz bags. this would be SO UNBELIEVABLY great for converters, and also for challenges, for example: Make the best model you can out of a bitz bag. It doesn't need to be anything in particular.

3) At least 1 plastic superheavy for each army. NOT just fifty seven Baneblade varients.

4) Revamp all the ones that have not had a new codex for more than, say, seven years.

Sorry about there being four ideas, but oh well

seriously though, as much as we all have criticisms for the way GW handles its business model, I think they are on the right track now.
people talk about how bad codex creep is, or how crazy army specific rules hamper gameplay.... but what does it also do: sell models.
MtG does this, each new edition is more complex, more rediculous, and more powerful than the last. What used to be an all powerfull competitve deck of cards 6 years ago is trash compared to the cards available today.

i would rather have a game system that is unbalanced, but popular and long lasting than one that is completely fair and balanced, but doomed to corporate failure and being lost to obscurity.

THE HORUS HERESY: Emprah: Hours, go reconquer the galaxy so there can be a new golden age. Horus: But I should be Emprah, bawwwwww! Emprah: Magnus, stop it with the sorcery. Magnus: But I know what's best, bawwwwww! Emprah: Horus, tell Russ to bring Magnus to me because I said so. Horus: Emprah wants you to kill Magnus because he said so. Russ: Fine. Emprah's always right. Plus Ole Red has already been denounced as a traitor and I never liked him anyway. Russ: You're about to die, cyclops! Magnus: O noes! Tzeentch, I choose you! Bawwwww! Russ: Ah well. Now to go kill Horus. Russ: Rowboat, how have you not been doing anything? Guilliman: . . . I've been writing a book. Russ: Sigh. Let's go. Guilliman: And I fought the Word Bearers! Horus: Oh shi--Spess Puppies a'comin? Abbadon: And the Ultramarines, sir. Horus: Who? Anyway, this looks bad. *enter Sanguinis* What are you doing here? Come to join me? Sanguinius: *throws self on Horus's power claws* Alas, I am undone! When you play Castlevania, remember me! *enter Emprah* Emprah: Horus! So my favorite son killed my favorite daughter! Horus: What about the Lion? Emprah: Never liked her. Horus: No one does. Now prepare to die! *mortally wounds Emprah*Emprah: Au contraire, you dick. *kills Horus* Dorn: Okay, now I just plug this into this and . . . okay, it works! Emprah? Hellooooo? Jonson: I did nothing! Guilliman: I did more nothing that you! Jonson: Nuh-uh. I was the most worthless! Guilliman: Have you read my book? Dorn: No one likes that book. Khan: C'mon guys. It's not that bad. Dorn: I guess not. Russ: You all suck. Ima go bring the Emprah back to life.

I think that rescaling all the marines would not only not sell well, cost a lot to re-do essentially the entire line, and cause problems with scaling of chaos, older SM that would not get new minis, etc... there are too many reasons to count. Changing the scale at this point would be a horrible move.

You might be right, but as I'm the head of GW in this fictional universe, I'm doing it!

All kidding aside, they might be able to spin it into a W30K Horus Heresy setting, and go from there...

I for one have been out of the hobby (read too much school, too little time and money) for a good 2-ish years and just got myself back, after reading the first page and seeing the general "I'm sick of 5th ed 40K" I guess some major re-do is necessary.

1) All codexes that haven't been updated since 3rd ed will be fixed (this means dark eldar, blood angels, space wolves, etc.

2) More models per price to the people, I'd LISTEN to the hobbyists and down the price per model, 10 models shouldn't cost 2+ USD each...

3) More and better modeling & painting equipment/Colors (brushes included). It's 50% of the hobby and the glue is crap and costs bijillions... cmon!

Oh and I have a seceret number 4) Make the super-awesomeness forgeworld stuff cheaper now with apocalypse here! (this includes everything you can buy from them that has anything to do with the game (not busts, belt buckles, etc.) give the gamer a chanse to finish his battle company with a thunderhawk dammit!

1) Price decrease: One of the best ways to get new fans in, and get vets to buy more.

2) Print codex: LATD: It does seem popular, and the DE dex works well enough even though it is old. I do not see why GW feels the need to fix things that are not broken.

3) Warhammer Armies: Fishmen. The joke is made enough, time to make it real.

I totally agree on the dark eldar. If they are sculpted really well (which seeing new sculpts you KNOW they will) and the codex is good, people are going to say screw it Im starting a DE army. Cmon those guys are more terrifying then Orks in CC and thats a pants pooping type of thing

Codex : Lost and the Damned

I would release the book mostly without new models, with the intent of highlighting existing models that don't really sell to begin with.

(Boxes of guard, Chaos hounds, Chaos Spawn etc.)

The book takes minimum work because it would just be a 5th edition compatible version of the EoT list, drawing from 5th chaos and 5th guard.

It would make money for my company because with a minimal investment, I simultaneously push model lines from three different races across two gaming systems, 40k and WHFB.

The problem with LatD like that, is, like the EoT list, there are no models to track sales against. So GW's bean counters figure it loses money.

1. Price Drop, as has been mentioned. Probably the 10-15% range. Not much, but it might help.

2. Forge World price drop. Tell them to drop their prices by 35% or MORE or GW will make everything they make in plastic and put them out of business.

3. Work with RAPP (Paintball company) to create 40K looking paintball markers. Seriously, I'd love to be slinging a storm bolter around in the woods. Or a psycannon.

1. Codex: Ordo Xenos (may be used with existing models and armies, a few new interesting kits, and has a built in campaign book)
2. Warhammer Quest Redux (more of a selfish request, but with the technology available now can be produced in a more profitable way)
3. 1 year price freeze. Company wide Six Sigma introduction. The implementation of a more stringent quality control program will improve the product, improve customer satisfaction, and will ultimately lead to greater, and more stable, future earnings.

1. 5th Ed codex update for every army.

2. Chaos Legions Codex: Big book with demons, black legion, Thousand sons, red corsairs, night lords, alpha legion, iron warriors, all of it.

3. Codex The Imperium of Mankind: All inquisition forces, 10 or so marine chapters including pre-heresy emps children and such, and imperial guard.

I think once all the rulebooks are taken care of then it's time to break out with model release waves.

1) Update all armies for current edition

2) All metal non HQ models become plastic which should increse the sales of WH, DH, DE other metal armies

3) When working on the next edition prewrite all the codex's, when 6th is released release a pdf for each army giving them new rules etc. Then produce the mini's in waves, when the 1st wave is introduced the codex is released with edits (for clarity) and other things that needed changes (but not too drastic). Then give the GW community 3 to 5 years (after last codex) with only mini releases, apoc books etc. Start 7th ed a good 10 years after 6th...repeat

For #3 I would make SM 2 codex's (Vanilla like now, and then SW, DA, BT, BA as 1 dex), WH and DH become 1 dex. CSM stay as 1 dex but regane some of their lost fluff. Perhaps DE and Eldar to 1 dex? This would speed up GW's production timetable whith fewer codex's out.

So in conclusion,
Fail.

anyway...

1: A project for recruiting voluntary and competent gamers to play test, edit, proofread, and find loopholes and rules problems...
we all know that there are more than enough people out there that would be more than willing to do this for free...

2: Necromunda 2nd Edition, it was a damn sweet game the first time with a few problems, so lets fix it up, make it nice, and start again...
hell, they could even do a specifically =][=Munda version, either a stand alone or as part of the same game...

3: I agree on the plastic super heavies for every army...
heirophant and//or heirodule
warhound//chaos warhound
gauss pylon (or something better)
thunderhawk
revenant
brass scorpion
and... something cool for tau and dark eldar...
