So I started this post and this is awkward....
But....I just went into my local hobby store an reserved one of these for Friday when they get them.
There, I said it. I have been working on a 4 legged dread in my WIP and the current torso I'm using from the AOBR box is too high off the ground and my only other torso is an old metal one. So I will be purchasing one of these after all.
Like all of you I really do like all the bitz you get with this bad boy. Which is the secondary reason I'm purchasing it. I really need another pair of leg guards for a terminator conversion.
But, I am still sticking to my opinion that the heads and the power fist look cartoony. I guess that's just me though.
Anyhow I won't be needing alot of these bits and would prefer the torso from the ironclad. So if any one wants to trade for some of the bits let me know. I am really looking for a familiar or some of the older metal veterans.

Technologicus Servus Bellus 69482 M3860454028-2 Unit(s) affected: Dreadnought Mark(s) affected: Mk. IVa through Mk.IVd, and variants This Technologicus Servus Bellus (TSB) covers all Mk. IV Dreadnoughts with extended gorget collar around the helmet. Background Starting with the Mk. IVa Dreadnought, the protective gorget collar was further enhanced against infantry-based weapons fire directed at the pilot's helmet. Due to heavy pilot losses experienced against Tau forces in the Sarran Campaign, the gorget piece was extended upward by 32% (up to a practical minimal sightline limitation of negative 5% directly ahead), thickened by 20% (up to 50% in some sections), and resculpted to deflect ballistic firepower away (eliminating the previous shot trap). This has practically eliminated direct fire pilot kills by ground-based xenos infantry. Pilot surviability has increased by more than 19%, despite a less than 2% weight increase, and no measurable impact on mobility. The resulting inabilty to see (or target) any roughly human-sized object within 10 feet is of no great concern, although Brother Techmarine Jaspus' suggest to fit bumpers was duly noted. Issue Unfortunately, the sheer size and form of the gorget has resulted in traitor forces exploiting the gorget as a catch-basin that the Dreadnough pilot (nor Brother Marines) cannot field clear. Specifically, in recent campaigns, traitor forces have taken to directing or placing indirect fire weapons (i.e. krak grenades and meltabombs) into the gorget. As a heavily-armored, enclosed space, this tends to focus resulting explosive forces entirely on the pilot's head. Typically, the pilot's head is completely disintegrated as a result. Nevertheless, Dreadnough pilot mortality is generally improved, due to the relative paucity of grenade launchers among traitor forces. In addition, recent campaigns continuing against Eldar forces have seen these nimble bastards placing and pouring various substances into the gorgets. The wide (and increasing) variety of the substances being used (i.e. paint, gravel, carrion, sewage, molten lead) suggests that the Eldar are doing this for what appears to be entertainment purposes, as they could have destroyed them at their leisure - it apparently amuses these xenos to see our Dreadnoughts incapacitated in this way. Clearing and cleaning 20 gallons of decomposed feces from the gorget of a angry Dreadnought is not "amusing" in the least. Field Corrective Action To minimize the ability for enemy forces to exploit the obvious catchpoint of the Mk.IV Dreadnought, I hereby recommend that relief ports be drilled into the gorgets, at an upward angle of at least 30 degrees, to allow for quick venting of foreign substances. Minimum diameter to be at least 174 standard units, to ensure clear passage of meltabombs and xenos grenades. Design Correction For the Mk.V Dreadnought, a new "Sarcophagus" design is envisioned, using a homogenous front panel and armored vision slit. This will have the benefit of removing the previous bullet trap and denying the enemy an alternative way to get our pilot's heads. Space Marine Brother Veteran Techmarine Techcommander Graius "Toil Mightily, for the Emperor Toils Still!"

I picked one up on saturday. It's a great kit. The molding is significantly sharper than the old dread kit. It seems like that CAD is really helping to improve the quality of the molds.

After comparing the two kits I thought that no one would ever need the old plastic dread kit. But there is one thing the older dread kit has that the venerable doesn't: the missile launcher.
