This thing looks like a cartoon character! Am I the only person who see this? I mean there isn’t a Pikachu in there.

I have to say, at the risk of being dogpiled, I kind of like it's look and may pick one up.

It will make an awesome chaos dreadnought with very little work. Yep, buying it.

There are tons of different armor plates to cover over that writing. You can make it look a lot better than that.

Funny, I can think of precisely 34 people who would disagree with you that I've spoken to in the past couple of days.

But hey, a model is a work of art, and art is entirely subjective. But terrible? Hardly. Well proportioned, nice detailing and the kit comes with a wealth of options.

The only thing I don't like is using a 'regular' space marine helmet in the recessed 'head' part.

They should have gone with something similar, yet closer to what Forge World does.

Other than that, I rather like it!

(Well, that and the fact that they should have given us weapons options that we DON'T currently have in plastic, rather than another twin-linked lascannon and missile launcher...)

Looking at the Sprue pics, I suspect any Power Armoured head will fit in there, which is nice. Plus the various Sarcophogi seem to show different amounts of the helmet.

I don't think it looks any more like a cartoon character than any other Dreadnought.

Though I will agree, I'm not incredibly impressed with it. In my mind, Forge World did it better and sooner.

Yeah, I get the options thing. I don't like spending money on bitz or at FW to have more dread weapon options. But for some reason this is one of the first Space marine models that has really kind of scared me about a new direction. Maybe its just the painting but that fist and head are weird too. I own 7 dreads right now ( 3 FW, 2 Venerable metal, AOBR and the older metal one) and have to say there is no way I will be picking this one up. But of course that is just me. Maybe it has something to do with a suppressed childhood memory of a guy with a big hand and a tiny head, who knows.

I think it's a drastic improvement on the fugly Ironclad with the mickey mouse ears and skinny legs.

I kind of see what you mean about the regular marine head. Perhaps something along the lines of a Grey Knight Terminator Head would have looked a bit more in place. Apart from that I think it looks fine, and isn't the fist just a slight variation on the old metal venerable anyway?

Wouldn't say terrible, it isn't bad - not exactly exciting. But then again it is only a dreadnought with a few fancy bits tacked on. Not sure what you were expecting - at least it isn't beastmen terrible.

frankly i hate the new venerable dreadnought too. Those blank plates look like they have those special foil stickers on em; If those were left blank it would look alot better. Theres is no way in hell i would get one

I kinda like it. And I think there is an option for a closed head.

I think it looks great, 'sides from the faults he mentioned.

The only bit I don't like is the 'hand' power fist. It's far superior to the old metal one.

Different weapon options would have been nice.

Not bad but if I ever got it I would not use the fist and I'd probly rip the head out and add a differnt one those two things just don't fit on this other wise great model.

It looks like a great kit. It's got 3 different exposed heads, 2 different fronts for those exposed heads, two regular sarcophagus covers with two different, separate vision slits, two kinds of leg armor, 3 kinds of plates to cover the writing on the torso, different shoulder mount options, a plasma cannon, and two kinds of DCCWs. Why the fuss?

I don't even play Space Marines (though I do own them) but I'm going to pick up at least one of those bad boys, maybe even two!

that's a good looking kit, i plan on getting one to convert for my chaos army.

Its awesome. the only thing i want are brass knuckles for the fist.
my army doesnt eve really use dreads and i might pick this one up.
but how does it look like a cartoon. please elaborate.
