So despite the total lack of updates (I've barricaded myself in the lounge sitting on a heater, watching media and searching for a Siberian Husky breeder that is local, whilst doing the occasional bout of painting) - I did actually get my 300 points done for last month!
First up, I finished another Valkyrie. I didn't bother to take many pictures, as it's nothing you haven't seen already.
And heres a quick very bad snap of them together!
Next up I got a 6 man special weapons squad done. They're a bit of a poo choice, but it allowed me to convert a few up and have them as an intact squad, plus there are worse ways to spend 50 points I guess
Then my PBS arrived, and I got painting! Really happy with how these guys came out. There's one more than is in the photo, didn't realise I had dropped him on the floor until after I was done taking photo's!
I also got a chimera done. Photographing with bright lights at night = suck, so from a couple of angles the light is reflecting off the individual varnish granules and making the odd panel look weird. It looks normal under normal circumstances, so ignore that !
Lastly, my bases also arrived. I got most of these painted, as a bit of batch painting.
Well, that's all from me for May, hopefully I'm a bit more consistent and regular over June eh?

Exceptional work, as always. These Admech troops are an inspiration. I'd be honoured to play against them- but you're on the other side of the world.
What on earth did you use for the PBS? Best one I've seen so far!

Yep, they are indeed the microart studio menials.
I also wouldn't recommend anyone buy them. Seriously.
The casts were so badly degraded that I had to do a lot of greenstuffing to fix them. Despite ordering six, they sent me 6 of the same figure, rather than mixing it up at all (I find it hard to believe 6 were randomly chosen and just happened to be the same figure 6 times over - and it took them an exceptionally long time to arrive.
The only reason I have any variation in the squad at all is because Bryn had some different ones he lent me that I have already painted up!
I was considering sending them back, but after talking to a friend who ordered some parts a while back; he had the exact same experience. The replacements were in the same condition.
Perhaps they just dont refresh their molds frequently enough, but as is - I wouldn't do business with them again - I'm glad I used this as a trial run before spending a LOT of money there

Your quick limericks nearly made fine malt liquor come out of my nostrils. I love your work; I just wouldn't put the special weapon squads on snow bases.
More importantly, your tech priests should ashamed of their flame throwers. The high pressure tanks look to be metal and rusting. That is simply not safe.
Gas bottles should be physically inspected on a weekly schedule. An annual or biannual pressure test and with a five year ydrostatic test at a minimum. 40KOSHA best not see your pics.

How do you achieve the white cogwheel effect on you Valkeries? It's very regular for freehand and a good finish if masked off.

I can't say that i'm prticularly surprised about MA Studios, while the sculpts are moderately cool i don't think the quality of any of their products is particulalrly good.
Did you make your Skitarii like The Hoff on Warseer or did you use a different method?

I cut out the cog shape with paper, traced around it with pencil, sponged down the masking fluid, then painted the cog inside the pencil lines. It needed a large amount of touching up after that, but was happy with the result

Really disappointing, as it saps a lot of my motivation to suddenly be doing it on my own, but them's the breaks I guess.
