I'm in a position to observe your behavior on internet forums and blogs and draw opinions from my obersevations. I have played at Rhubarb, CoC and Sci-fi. While it was not formally used, people were aware of the INAT, and used it at times to come to concusions on rules calls. Other times, a different call was used, but that it the TO's perogative, as it would be with any house rule.

Having played many tournament games against Mahu, and having been friends with Mahu, I am able to draw observations regarding his character.

In my humble opinion, Mahu is not a cheater, you're mistaken about his character and his actions, and you're also an obstinate internet troll.

This.

As much as I hate a few of the things in the INAT, and let me reiterate the word hate here, particularly concerning POTMS and Smoke Launchers...

This.

Thank you. I don't like the Doom ruling, but it was a decent compromise until GW sacks up and gets the job done with their own FAQ. I also disagree with the rule that the Manticore being a hull mounted weapon, when the model is turreted. (I think that's in there...) But I'll accept that over the whim of whatever judge happened to be wandering by.

Well he certainly cheated me when I played him. Anyways you are making sweeping statements about stores where you have never played. I dont know, maybe you are a psychic... Like I said just be honest about it.

I dont see how reasonable conversions using non-citadel models impacts the game at all.. Not like FLGS care about GW not getting a cut of the pie when they dont even make a model for them to sell

I'd check with your local store to see how exactly that 50% rule is being enforced, if you know what I mean.

*grumbles about disappearing original post*

Rednekgunner & I both made it to the finals last year, but I was forced to drop out four days before my flight. When he got back, he told me that the organizers at the Bunker wouldn't have allowed my converted Ku'Gath (which includes about half of a LOTR ogre--link in sig). I would have had to drop ~$60 on a new GUO in order to play the game...

Yes, there are some draconian bits in the LOTR licensing, but it would have been nice if their had been ANY mention of this restriction, anywhere. It still doesn't mention it in the 2010 rules, but I would assume it is still in effect. Those of you with plastic Balrog wings, be warned...

It's not the 50% thing that's the kicker, most of us have been around long enough to pull out 50% and spruce up a model. Just like in 40k GW makes a rule then makes a sweeping stipulation that voids that rule. My Twolf cav ARE 50% gw and started out as nothing more than a space marine, however since they are mounted on armorcast Sturmwolves then they are illegal

Be that as it may, someone having a different opinion than you is NO cause to stoop to insults.

Please check the rules here in Dakka Dakka. There's a link in my signature.

After the prizes at finals last year, and with the rules in effect this year, I'll go as far as the regionals (if I make it) and read about the finals in the forums. Adepticon is my one guaranteed vacation each year.

Im curious what constitutes 50%.. Weight in grams of each part? surface area? subjective viewing?

Cause a metal GW torso most likely would outweight plastic custom bits! or perhaps just have him standing on a ton of left over vehicle sprue bits..

For surface area could just put a banner on every model..(Or if thats not enough, 2 banners)

Sorry for the non-directional insult at anyone in particular Ive just never seen such a rule enforced and I sincerely do not understand the PURPOSE of such a rule other than to be discriminatory.. heck even at GW events Ive never seen a judge walk to every table and be like "Well, thats only 47% citadel miniature DENIED"

Im more curious how such a feat would be judged.. As to the LOTR licensing non-sense. yeah I suppose GW has to follow that rule.. they want hobbit tie ins after all

Won't happen at the one I'm running. I really don't care what people use (aside from plastic army men, and hell if it looked GOOD I wouldn't even have a problem with that) as long as it's obvious as to what it's supposed to be.

I'd rather know the ruling ahead of time than have it sprung on me in the middle of a game. I don't like every ruling in the INAT, but I can accept them in order to enjoy the tournament. There's nothing worse than a midgame ruling that hands the win to the other guy because I play it differently at the club.

Yes, the INAT FAQ is big. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it cover the 40K rulebook, every codex + Imperial Armor books? Ofcourse a FAQ for 20ish books is going to be large, coupled with the fact that the SM books have similar questions to answer and they are repeated as necesary in the invidual codex sections, in effect doubling and tripling the same questions/ answers.

For those against the INAT, how about putting a FAQ together yourself? Don't just use the INAT as a resource and change a few rulings... Gather the questions and come to your own conclusions. That would be a lot more interesting than reading your bitches and moans about INAT and might help the community at large. Then again, it's much easier to cry to GW about INAT then it is to provide an alternative.

Well, in acutal 'ard Boyz news, I received an e-mail from GW stating that the scenarios are to be posted the week before the acutal event.

@Dash

Crazy Beanz n Beadz in Easley, SC is hosting it. Apparently they get several of the ATL crowd up there regularly-- not sure how long the drive is.

Back on topic:

I wish they would post abit further in advance-- last year, posting them ahead of time let them change one of the scenarios that was inherently unbalanced for SW (not an issue this year, but as an example)

Dash, there's nowhere in Atlanta that's hosting Ard Boyz? That seems... insane to me.

There are actually several places in Atlanta hosting 1st round 'Ard Boys events.

If I remember correctly, however, Dash doesn't live in Atlanta. He's visited here to play in a tourney, but he lives somewhere up in North Cacalaky (that's Carolina for those not from the Appalachian Mountains).

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

I live in BFE North Carolina.

All Fun and Games in Cary (outside of Raleigh) is hosting it....but I'd prefer not to play there; the TO is an odd guy, with some house rulings that don't jive with the rulebook...I prefer not to play there if possible.

Mind Games in Greenville is supposedly hosting it, but after winning every tournament I attended there and upsetting her local crowd, who said that they would play for fun but didn't want to waste money in a tournament if they didn't have a chance to win...the owner's daughter (who runs the store got hostile)....and when their next tournament came up, I chose not to attend and told someone who asked if I was coming that it felt like a hostile store and I was uncomfortable gaming there....which got passed onto the owner who told me I was banned from the store for spreading malcontent about her store. Which....I've been laying plans to actually do now. Might as well get my moneys worth.

The Game Connection in Knightdale is probably going to host it, but the guys who game (The Lords of War) are real jerks. Interestingly, none of them are any good but I was an outsider when I moved here, made some waves and was met with resentment (and very harsh language and threats) and to accomodate my wife, promised not to game there anymore. The last time I gamed there was last year for 'Ard Boyz preliminaries. I brought a friend, who brought a friend, and us outsiders beat down the locals and took first, second, and third. I haven't been back since.

SciFi isn't hosting it, Hangar18 isn't ready for tournaments, Gamer's Haven isn't ready to host a tournament yet, and Kelly over at the Game Shack in Greenville....I've asked him to host it and he said he'd look into it; I need to follow up with him on Wednesday and see if he worked it out with GW to host 'Ard Boyz. If not, my choices are AF&G, which is an uneasy thought, or travelling 4 hours to somewhere new.

Its frustrating that I can travel around the country to RTTs and GTs, make friends, get perfect sportsmanship scores, and have a great time....but locally I've got such problems.

You seemed nice enough to me at the St Valentines Day massacre : )

However... there was that kid you stabbed on the way in... and the grandmother you ran over with your car... and of course there also was that bank you drove a tank through.... /strange humor

Don't worry much about the locals... i find when i give them a good thrashing they get upset also...

Next time you are up in the NY/NJ area we should play.
