Looks cool from what I can tell, however it is too far of a departure from Necron design paradigms for me... They will really have to do something different with the core plastics whenever they update to make this work with the line.

Nobody is arguing that forgeworld isn't working on a new necron model, just that this isn't it. It doesn't "clearly connect" to previous rumors until you have actual evidence of a connection. Until then, they are 2 separate rumors that may or may not even be related. There could simply be more than one new forgeworld models coming out.

I really think it's a nid. The talons are a spitting image for the BFG hive ship tentacles and the backplates have a faint ridge that's reminiscent of nid MC backplates. Now, if it IS a necron, it's big news, because it confirms a MAJOR change in overall style for them.

It is a Necron. I have have not confused rumours. It is not only a Necron, but a Necron Tomb Stalker. Hence the title. Not a Catachan Devil, not something for Nids, not Bigfoot riding Nessie...a Necron Tomb Stalker.

And no, my camer doesn't have autofocus, because it's on a mobile phone. And no, I don't have photographic skills, because I am rubbish at it.

With the attitude you've been getting, I'm not surprised rumors are so scarce these days.

I'm gratefull for all the info you have brought us, and I'd like to apologise for others who keep trying to turn you down.

The photo is out of focus yet the lines above the pic are in focus.

Not sure why Mr. Mystery (awesome name, by the way!) is catching heat here, but let's remember to keep everything civil, as it has been for the most part.

I like the idea of this. I mean Tomb Spyders are cool and thematic for necrons, But surely a big ol' trygon sized beastie would really have to be something sufficiently different to work? I mean, if GW released just a 3 up version of the carnifex im sure you'd be pretty gutted. Who am I kidding, a 3 up carnifex would be absolutely frikkin' awesome!!

I digress, I think Necrons branching off with new and origonal ideas is pretty cool. I think if they kept with the same themes the army would quickly grow stagnant.

Well, I hope I didn't offend. There are 4 things I love: 40k rumors, photoshops, speculation, and driving you enemies before you and hearing the lamentations of their women. This seemed like a convenient venue for 3 of those.

Simply not true. They are no more in focus than the rest of the pic. They are just really easy to identify as lines.

Necrons as they exist now are not organic... But that has no relevance or bearing on new Necrons... Which this is a picture of.

It's an unpainted, resin model. Not an artist's colored rendition. Plus, new Necrons might not even have a green glow.

Tyranids are more dinosaur than bug. This looks way too bug-like to be Tyranid.
I can totally see them taking the 'buglike Matrix robots' road with Necrons.
The biggest hint that tells me this is a Necron is the fact the person who captured the pic says "This is pic of the new Necron Tomb Stalker." (A unit which already looks like an insect.) And since Necrons are the only race besides DE that are reported to be near completion with a new Codex and models, we can only conclude that this must be a Tyranid Catachan Devil? A unit that doesn't exist in an army that already got its 5th ed codex? Because resculpting new models for two entire armies hasn't kept them too busy to design a model which has absolutely no in-game representation or useful application on 99.99% of 40k battlefields...

looks legit to me. Necrons should be more organic looking,IMO. The closer they look to actual life, the bigger a mockery of life they are, which is pretty cool.

Dang....Obama infiltrated the forums hehe. Just kidding...just kidding...

I think he does have a good point but I do not thing the negativity is focused at Mr Mystery (which by the way thanks for posting). A little doubt is healthy for the conversation and it is a little off of what some expect a necron to be. I personally hope it is necron as it will be great to see a large necron model that is not a monolith or the FW non moving monolith thingy...

I've never been even slightly interested in necron, but models like these can change my mind.

Forgeworld should have rules ready when released, plus they will be free to download.

Well I for one am gitty with excitement to see ANYTHING Necron related. They've been in the dust *teehee* for too long. Hell if this thing doesn't have a rule set I'd buy it anyway and use it as a tomb spyder in my games. Now just have to see how big it is.

Since you've seen the photo itself but could only take such sized pic, what did the rest of the model look like on paper? How many legs? Giant guns strapped to the sides? Any sort of crystals IE monolith style to give the dead giveaway 'Oh yeah, that is definitely Necron'

I'm definitely wondering why there are antennae unless this thing will be like a Necron rc car used to just zip into imperial lines and cause a fuss then pulled out.
