Ah. That film. I've watched maybe the first 30 mins of it. Far too weird for my tastes.

To which I still say - why.

I like the aesthetic that Necrons have no - hard angles, defined simplistic lines, not a lot of flash or fancy additions - a efficient and cold visual style to match their cold and efficient nature. It makes things like Flayed Ones all the more creepy.

I could see the things like Tomb Spyders and Scarabs becoming more "organic". Have them being relics of the Necrontyr's early attempts into crafting the Necrodermis container for the C'tan, maybe?

People are questioning that the picture is real, not that FW is making a Necron model. Unless you thought that the catachan devil thing was something other than a joke.

8000 points of XI Legion the Space Vagabonds, they can adapt their tactics to represent any and every Legion and Chapter as needed because they were created by the Emperor to be the ultimate tactical power. They have faked their disappearance in order to infiltrate every part of the conflicts in the galaxy.

8000 points of Tau/Craftworld Eldar/Necron because the Space Vagabonds can also emulate their wargear and tactics.

Victories: ALL
Losses: NONE (My armies have the psychic ability to conjure a cataclysmic storm whenever they are about to lose. This allows the Space Vagabonds to teleport away while releasing power waves that destroys the battlefield and so every battle is a victory)

That was back in January though.

Could be true, as that has quite a strong egyptian vibe, but it could also potentially mean more skeletal (read: more segmented/detailed). I'm kind of liking that idea, actually. The level of detail and coolness that would be made possible by making them more like an abstracted skeleton and less like a simplified one is huge. And please, please, please GW, don't make them all bow-legged this time. Has anyone realised quite how fething tall and imposing necron warriors would be if they stood up straighter?

Just another random idea, but "organic" could also be an odd way of saying that they look like they've been decaying over the millennia?

I'm impressed with the level of disbelief in this thread. Normally people spread rumours based on what their friend heard of a cousin to a red-shirt and those take like wildfire.

Here we have a proper leak with matching photo that clearly connects to previous rumours regarding a necron model. Why anybody thinks it's a tyrnaid is beyond me.

This is just a fanpicture (not mine) but I think it might connect to the new model quite nicely.

It ISN'T a proper leak. Proper leaks are hints and sneak peaks from Gamesday, releases from GW etc.

This is just a random crappy photo, of the worst clarity ever, showing anything and been posted to create some kind of rumour. Why a close up of the pic? Why not the whole page? Could be a photo of a bed bug for all we know!

It also looks nothing like the concept Tomb Stalker picture, the only resemblanc it can confer is it has more than two legs!

The problem I have with the picture is that it's far too blurry for it to be a Necron model, a Nid model, even a GW/Forgeworld model. This is why everybody is showing disbelief. We all know Forgeworld are working on a Necron model as it was mentioned at US Games Day but I think it's hard to put this picture to that rumour due to how good GW are at keeping things under wrap now.

Just because you have a rumor that there's a necron model coming from forgeworld and a picture of a forgeworld model doesn't mean they're automatically the same thing. Forgeworld can be working on more than one thing, you know.

Nobody is arguing that forgeworld isn't working on a new necron model, just that this isn't it. It doesn't "clearly connect" to previous rumors until you have actual evidence of a connection. Until then, they are 2 separate rumors that may or may not even be related. There could simply be more than one new forgeworld models coming out.

I really think it's a nid. The talons are a spitting image for the BFG hive ship tentacles and the backplates have a faint ridge that's reminiscent of nid MC backplates. Now, if it IS a necron, it's big news, because it confirms a MAJOR change in overall style for them.

I think it's probably the Necron model. Looks like it could be some kind of larger variation of a Tomb Spyder.

P.S. What the feth would be the reasoning behind them making a Catachan Devil? Seriously?

...Why would a Catachan Devil be "whetting the Nid players' appetite"?
If a Catachan Devil were originally a Tyranid beast, it's so far gone from that it would be devoured by the rest of a Hive Fleet as nothing but prey.

Plus; there's nothing on the docket for awhile for Tyranids from FW. GW's supposedly got a Tervigon and Tyrannofex kit lined up for release at "an undisclosed time".
FW has stated they've moved away from doing "gapfillers", and are just going to be doing their own thing from henceforth.

I sure hope they have more than that on the docket...Tyranids need a lot more than just tervigons and tyrannofexes.

Then again since they made pods useless with their FAQ I guess I don't see a reason to make a model for them anymore. Plastic boneswords would be nice though.

Though they follow drop pod rules, they aren't and thus cannot be dropped empty; removing a strong tactical option from the Nid player.
