lOL! I am afraid that my guys are a little "rougher around the edges" than Viks guys! While his chaps are sipping their Earl Grey, mine are drinking theirs with vodka, or just the vodka!
Also, the Khadrovians really do not have "Nobles" per se, just some are more equal than others.

Well, vik does have some aussie bushwackers... but then...in a fight...who'd win?
he's outnumbered about 10 to 1...but then he does have an airship...but then you have about 20 heavy weapons teams...
but were my space marines to join the fray, I'd love to see your 300-odd guardsmen in CC with my 8 captains, counts-as lysander, chapter master, 2 chaplains, 2 libbies, chief libby, korvydae, shrike and 10 vanguard veterans...a squad costing over 4,000pts...lol...

True, it does help, arranging such a battle would be pretty big, me and my army from the states, you in England and Vik in Germany.
My tanks list is pretty big at 12 Leman Russ, with 2 sabres on the way and 7 chimeras, with 2 lancers and 2 claymors enroute, 2 baslisks, manticore, 3 hellhound/banewolf, baneblade, malcador, valdor x2, T-61A5, T-440, T-350, T-290
Seadrgon, the thudd battery, 10 sentinels, the hundreds of guys. ogryns sqd, Hydras, all in all about 15k for Apocalypse if all of it was used for a single battle!

I might manage about 10,000pts if I cobble my raven guard, 'nids, steel legion and orks together...By net year? about 13,000. Bear in mind my dosh will be spent on scenery and death korps.

Scenery eh? Death Korps would give you more troops and artillery and tanks though.
As you can see from the fluff though, the Khadrovian military is like a massive tidal wave in it's own right.
Most armies are listed like the 1024th Kadrovian Iron Guards' Shock Army or other shock armies where they will land a large force to overwhelm a planet defense force or whatever the xenos has that passes for the same.
Armor, supported by relentless artillery, with air support. Specialist units will also slip in behind enemy lines to disrupt the enemies power supplies, blow up bridges and rail facilities, and burn fuel depots. While many IG would refer to these as Stormtroopers, the Khadrovian name for them is the Spetznats Kommandos. Once the area is 'secured" the agents of S.C.H.M.E.R.T.Z. arrive on planet to scour the areas for mtants and psykers as well as those who do not pray to the Emperor, those found lacking in these departments are rounded up for swift retribution.

trenches, mainly. The army is- 50 blob guard, PCS, CCS, general-commissar, 3 heavy weapons teams, 3 cyclops vehicles, 5 engineers, hades breaching drill, banewolf, 2 LRBT's, basilisk, deathstrike.

so, kinda like blitzkrieg?
My engineers are gonna be kinda like that- blob guard distracts and sits on objectives, while the engineers surface with the drill- drill kills a tank/heavy infrantry unit, then the engineers come in net turn, lob a demo charge at whatever unit undoubtably kills the drill, before shotgunning and gassing the survivors, then charging into CC, with general-commissar leading.

cyclops- drive out into no-man's land and blows up a high-save threat (stuff like carapace-wearing veterans, warriors, tactical marines, ect.)
PCS- FRFSRF the blob/incoming!'s the blob.
CCS- bring it down!'s the heavy weapons teams/fire on my target's the blob.
wait...if the blob counts as one unit...and I FRFSRF and fire on my taget it...150 re-roll sucessful cover save shots! ouch...
blob- take fire/distract/make a heroic charge through no-man's land when the opponent is worrying about the engineers. 2-pronged assault FTW!!!
banewolf- sneaks around discreetly, before flaming the sh** out of a high-toughness/horde unit (2+ to wound flamers FTW!)
basilisk- shell enemy MEQ's/high-save units.
leman russes- see above. I might swap 'em for eradicators...
commissar-general- beatstick for the engineers.
engineers- shock troops- anti-tank/horde/MEQ.
hades drill- means of creating tunnels/killing infrantry/heavy infrantry/tank. 50pt S10 AP1 melta 5" blast FTW!
heavy weapons- repeatedly pour fire into infrantry/kill tanks (HB's or ML's?)
centaur- use for rapid re-insertion/whisk the CCS out of harm's way.

in the triangle of countries, I reckon the closest landmass in the middle would be around france/spain...in the mountains on the border! and it's gas grenades- on the chaarge, roll a D6. This is how many hits the charged unit takes. Roll anther D6. This is the strength. No cover saves allowed, once per game. If you're up against guardsmen, that's probably 2 dead. Not alot, but If you get lucky, that might be six.

yep, IG sure are buggered when up against mass tac marines...3+ to hit, 3+ to wound, no saves=9 dead guardsmen per 10 marines, while 30 guardsmen shooting 10 marines=2 dead marines. Then assault comes... 4 dead guardsmen, then 1 dead marine...ouch...

necrons have 4+sv.
and they phase out.
and half thier rules don't work with 5th ed.
and they have about 10 choices in the entire codex.
