They're sneaky in the way they stay away from humans and travel, but the similarity ends there. They're very devoted to their family units.

At the least he is a greater demon. I'd imagine him being Chaos Undivided, but thats me. I mean he impersonates a Thousand Son psycher and walks around the Council of Nikea without the most powerful psychers (the Emperor, Malcador, and Magnus) and the most powerful Librarians from each legion that attended knowing he was there. Then procedes to control a Custodes and fight two SW the whole time using his powers and no one notices. The whole time this is happening the marine he's impersonating is standing right next to Magnus. So his power is proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. The name sorcery made him perfect for playing on the SW fears. Now imma have to re-read Legion also.

Spoiler:
I'm not sure if a daemon can be Chaos Undivided, but it's an interesting idea. It's the whole keeping hidden from the Emperor that I find most remarkable; although the tutelaries are daemons and were with the Thousand Sons it may have only had to mask its power rather than its presence. I hope they explore this more thoroughly.

sorry let me rephrase that. they are more of unaligned with any one of the four greater powers. I've read several stories where daemons are out to cause havoc or set themselves up to be feared and worshiped themself. they are just out to cause well chaos. kind of like the daemon Galaxy in Flames that Horus speaks to. He is an agent of chaos but not a certain power. Or is he an agent of the primordial annihilator? because if he's an agent of the PA then isnt the PA another name or aspect of Malal? so guess that would make him aligned if he was. cant find my copy of Galaxy in Flames to check and see.

but i can see him masking his power. just kinda amazes me that when he started using it that no one aside from those directly involved noticed or at the least no one said anything.

Spoiler:
My assumption would be unaligned as well. I've no idea what the Primordial Annihilator is to be honest (other than, presumably, a daemon of some kind).

Maybe it was just a badly written part? Or possibly there was a reason for it. Perhaps it was just assumed to be a bit of a spat and unimportant (does anyone die?) If not, maybe none of those involved shared the news, seeing it as just another Thousand Son abusing his power.

Uhlan wrote:But, he's from 'Anatolia' and in our present time that's Turkey, so...

At the time he was born it wasn't Turkey. Not sure what it was (it may have been before the Byzantines (or their ancestors) arrived there), but his name would almost certainly not have been in either Arabic or Turkish. I'm pretty sure his name has yet to be given.

As to those saying he was various religious leaders, considering he was supposed to be guiding humanity from the shadows, so to speak, I highly doubt he was Jesus or Muhammad who drew a lot of attention to themselves.

Yeah, I got that he's not a Turk, but I don't know what language was present at 8000 bce (according to some fluff I think) in Anatolia so I chose present time. Perhaps my humor is a bit too dry. Maybe I should have translated "John Doe" instead...

Oh Yeah,

I don't think the Emperor was anyone we'd know in history. I think he was the preverbial 'power behind the throne' of many influential people throughout history. Guiding events rather than making news. Personally, I think he's a member or leader of the "Illuminati"... at least I think it would explain a lot. Plus add a lot of interesting intrigue.

Unlike Chaos demons, like doombreed, who have different agendas (and revel in the power and mayhem) exploiting their time in the material world with as much gusto as possible. The Emperor didn't make himself known for a long, long time. He knew what he was up against and maybe wasn't fully prepared to lead humanity until he did.
