lol... ask rawson... he is the resident northerner...i only ever heard that from norway to be a delicious thing... but given that i am mad for raw meat... yummy.... (no pun inteded here... i prefer my meat if possible raw...no heat inolved... the texture and taste is simply awesome...try it!)
mmmm now i want sushi @vik whats sounds fishy about the 3 wolf lords on thunder wolves with canis? it's legal as the rulebook say's IC can join other IC to make a super unit. the SW codex says i can take 4 HQ choice 2 per HQ slot as long as there not completely the same. so one with frost blade the other with frost axe is good.

was about the rephrase it too and then read you post further... fishy as in...wolfriding...er...^^ have you ever thought about a cooler bike as a wolf count as? some harley conversion... maybe from defkoptas or some other base? for me the very thought of wolves as a riding material...meh...
well tommorow I have jet another tournament. this time a 600 point per player tournament.
my team consist of my space wolves (i have learned from last time) and my friend with his tau (the army i am painting).
my army consists of:
wolf lord, thunder hamer/storm shield
5 terminators, 2 power fists, 1 chain fist, 1 twin wolf claw and 1 power weapon, 4 storm bolters
10 grey hunters with rhino
i will take Pictures with my phone so expect some blurry pics

he wasn't the fist battle was againts two brothers with IG the mission was kill points. they had 3 vendatta's , 4 chimera's, 1 annihilator leman russ and we had almost nothing to open the transports. 9 - 1 in kill points. One mighty and funny part was that the entire IG army shot at my wolf lord and he still stood standing but the last lascannon shot killed him. he was crowned by my opponents to man of the match and later on even to man of the tounament
the second battle was againts vannila marines and nids the mission was 4 objectives. my wolflord tied up a tryloc and broodlord. it killed the broodlord but the tryloc was to big even though the tau did take 3 ounds of it. it was a draw nobody had an objective and my rhino was king of the match. it tank shocked a squad contesting the objective and its storm bolter killed the last marine who was on a objective.
the third battle was 3 objectives against nurgle space marines and imperial guard. dawn of war so my wolf lord joined my grey hunters and got shot to pieces. 1 grey hunters and the wolf lord still stood standing. long story short in the end i had 10 plague marines against my wolf lord. after the attacks he said you can make 8 armour saves or remove him immidiat i just laughed and rolled my dice saving all wounds.
I only made one photo of my wolf lord in the epic combat vs the triloc both had 1 wound left my wolf lord lost.

we had allot of fun when my wolf lord refused to die (all the players even the opposition), and random things that happened. we played in a church and the light was rubisch so i told to my team mate quick pray for better light 5 minutes later someone walks up to us and ask's if she could take a picture of our game and we had more light for about 5 seconds (the flash of the camera)

This time i am forsaken my previous determent plan of making a balanced army as it turns out that in the dutch tournament scene there is no place for such armies that's why my orks lost.
So i go for an all out mostly infantry guard army. I will use bretonnia peasant and men-at-arms body's for the normal guardsmen and knight/men-at-arms hybrids as storm troopers.

yay! this is going to be a classic and cool scheme...the minis you have chosen are very nice for a first view....yeah...pics suck... for some reason only the seethrough yellow tank came through as a clear pic^^ kind of selfowned there^^
the current coat of yellow looks as if you have aplied a bit too thick of paint there? i recently worked with millions of coats to achive a crisp white...and thus it worked...the coat then looks not that way...also i would have at least used a basecoat like deneb stone for making the black to yellow a bit easier...
are those blue swords power/forceweapons? how did the feudal world get the shooty bitz anyway? do you have some kind of fluff worked out yet? will be intersting to see this whole thing developing...!
On the painting i did thin the paint down but it's still kind of thick and i was thinking about a lighter base color will try that on the vendetta (i have the model just need to paint it) and the other leman russ and chimera. the force will not be overly mech but it will have some mobility.
on with the fluff
I have a pretty good fluff worked out for me by GW. of course i will wright some for my own.
but the basis is there from the same planet as the howling griffon's which is a feudal planet, but because it's also the home planet of a space marine chapter they have the technology for power weapons, plasma weapons and melta weapons.
I like to think of my IG as peasants who have served there lords (howling griffons) great or did something amazing and are rewarded by a higher rank. so the aristocratic society are inducted into the howling griffons and the lower society are inducted into the IG where they can grow into a higher rank.
the IG protect the world while the howling griffons go fight for the emperor and provide the IG with weapons to protect the population. should a treat be to great for the IG the howling griffons will crash down and save them.

thats the reason they have the same color scheme. i do plan to make a few free hands on the models of Griffons. those will be done with a pen instead of a brush as i have more control over a pen then a brush.
also in the pipes is a Giffon (the artillery piece) as the name just sreams to be in this army and a knight (the one man whannabe titan) made from a dread knight and a sentinel

the griffon then should be probably a centre piece^^ the whole scheme you do realize is quite a positive one...and by the way..it is a quartered scheme i can actually live with... some of the quartered schemes i have seen looked horrible^^ this one is cool!
thank you. yeah a friend of mine has a empire (fantasy) quartet scheme of orange a light blue ( i simply hate it) but i myself like this one too. and wait till i get some paint and a different banner (this one is to heavy) on my banner bearer. if it turns out like i want to (and it will) then it will blow your mind

well... as for the occasional bretonan or empire army done in a quertered scheme...i think you can´t get around that one...it is simply historical implied mostly...for the sake of the argument...a friend of mine painted his bowmen also in that same blue/orange mix and well...for him it was ok as these were his favorite colors...
er...what standard bearer...must have slipped me...
Maybe glue some fishing weights/sinkers under the base?
