He even got my utterly uninterested missus into Star Trek. We're now onto Season 6 and shes sure to go all the way.

That is a beautiful weapon.
Myself? Ooh, I don't know. If we were talking about weapons full stop, I would say an original master crafted Katana. Whilst contrary to popular belief Katanas are not automatically better, some of the finest swords in the world are Katanas, and a well made Katana is lethal.
Firearms? Maybe an original well made flintlock of some description. They are lovely pieces of engineering, and have a real heft to them.

There's something like tenth generation swordsmiths still making Katana to this day I believe. Mind blowing sword making tradition in Japan.
I'd love to get my hands on one... my grandfather actually had a pair of Katana, WW2 bring backs that my gran sold to an auction house immediately after he died... me coveting them aside if she'd kept them they could have paid a lot of her bills before she passed. As an aside, I will trounce the first anime fan who starts screaming about how amazing folded steel is.
For anyone who's into a good dose of the stabbity I recommend Hank Reinhardt's "The Book of Swords" excellent work on the subject.

Folded steel? What?
I thought Katanas were just made from a single piece of steel? I know the best Katanas were made from very good quality steel, but I thought that they were made in a similar way to most swords, the difference being the shape and the metal used.

The folding process of Japanese swordsmithing is the most famous part! From what I understand the folding process used in Japanese swordsmithing allows them to compensate for the relatively low quality metal found in Japan by introducing more and more carbon, also allows for a more homogenized metal and produces that lovely "layered" effect seen in damascus steel and Japanese Katana that's caused by different, alternating layers of hardness in the blade.
Swordsmiths making Katanas would fold the steel over onto itself several times. Sometimes several thousand times. A "master crafted" Katana could take up to six months to make because of this process. It's what made them so slim, but so very strong.
As for my dream firearm? A 1911, produced in 1911. I suppose it should also be in working order, too.
If you need me, I'll be busy wiping the layers of dust off my dice.

For those who do like Katana but don't have the $6000 or so for a cheap traditional styled blade, Sword Buyer's Guide offers a 100% custom T1 Tool Steel Katana for $330 shipped to your door.

He does? Lucky SoB.... but yeah I'm probably gonna snag myself a Chiappa when I have more money in the "random toys" fund. All the cool "looks" of the Mateba though the autorevolver part is pretty cool.

I want to say he paid like 300 bucks for it too. I haven't searched my posts to confirm but IIRC. Mateba, dirt cheap, Dogma. You really want a Dan Wesson.

I do wish it was legal to own flamethrowers here. If it was I would try and get a Kleif, one of the first man portable flamethrowers ever made. I did check out the Type 93 and Type 100, but their use in the Second Sino-Japanese War makes me reluctant.
One book I want to find is the Huo Long Jing, an ancient Chinese book of weapons.
Also, are Dragon's Breath rounds legal in the UK?

Did Patton actually own a 1911? I know he had a Remington 51 and wore his issued 1908 hammerless on dress occasions after ditching the 51 for wheel guns.

Specifically a S&W that's pre.... oh gosh '62 was the year S&W's QC Manager changed I think... but damn $300 for a Mateba Unica 6? Chap you bought it off of must not have known what he had.

Yeah I always associate Patton with a pair of ivory hit Colt SAAs
Now for a gun that belonged to someone, I'd like Chesty Puller's 1911. A handgun that is comparable valuable to a Marine as a piece of the true cross would be to a Christian.

Love shooting! My dad has an old Colt AR-15 A2 model that I've basically inherited, now that he's moved on to tactical M4geries. Still shoots great, and looks great too. I love the boomstick.
I'm not 21, but I plan on buying a Smith&Wesson Model 360...
I'm not really interested in personal defense, I just like the look of it, and .357 is a nice caliber.
