I have 14 bzs from dz and now some mars attacks tiles coming too. I think one strong hold will make a great interior and some extra addons will help fill out my battlezones with scatter and objectives.

Very nice, can see that being used for actual gameplay results too - you probably would want to stand well clear, or if it's positioned near an objective you need to hold, keeping the enemy out of LoS of it at all costs ; )
It also looks really good. I'm pretty much sold 100% on 2xstrongholds+ at this point, but would still like to see some more hands-on videos demonstrating usage and durability.

Yes me too. This looks absolutely fantastic (and has got wonderful cross-game potential) but I wonder if it is a bit optimistic/daft of me to hope that it can hold some paint? Just to weather it a bit, and help get away from the 'sheen' of card terrain.
Good news they are using a heavy card-stock however.

I'd say if you varnish it before and after it should be fine, though it could substantially alter the look of it which might not improve the looks. They did mention in the comments that they were looking at doing damaged versions of the stuff too which would be ideal.

Note Stronghold and Hulk add on prices already have the shipping included in the price as there is a bit of confusion over the shipping costs for the pledge levels.
Update #13
Nov 14, 2013
STRONGHOLD & HULK... Add-ons... ... and postage )
So... over the last week there has been much discussion in the comments and also direct emails about the possibility of having a HULK option on this KickStarter. Also talk about being able to pick up an additional Stronghold set. Always eager to please we are looking at the following...
Stronghold Add-On. UK £78 - Rest of world £86
Just like the normal Stronghold, but an Add-On. )
This is the same as the single Stronghold pledge. So if you are currently on a x2 Stronghold and want more (but not quite the x4 Stronghold pledge) you can simply increase your pledge amount by the cost of this Add-On and get an additional Stronghold. This Add-On includes any Free Stretch Goals just like your normal Stronghold pledge.
HULK Add-On. UK £78 - Rest of world £86
Hulk SMASHHHHHH, our Add-On value )
Stretch Goals items so far based on our current funding level, CoolStretch Goals items so far based on our current funding level, Cool
This is a single level set equivalent to the Stronghold. It does not have the Gantries, Stairs, Railings and so on. However it does has extra floor tiles and walls for a larger footprint. You may have a stronghold, x2 Stronghold or more and want more floor space, walls and room items at a single level so that you can build around your Multi-level madness, with some single level slickness. This is the Add-On for you. It will also include any Free Stretch Goals that are relevant to the single level set up. Additional paid Add-On stretch goals can be added as normal.
As you can see we have included postage in the price. Just increase your pledge by the correct amount depending on whether you are inside or outside of the UK.
We looked at many ways of implementing these options into the KS and decided that this would be the only way we can do it. It also keeps the pledges clear and simple which is vital for new backers.
Below are two set ups, the first is the standard Hulk Add-On as pictured in the graphic above it's just what is included without stretch goals. The second is an example of a set up using a few purchased Add-Ons and some of the stretch goals. In both cases we had a few walls and doors left over )
Standard HULK Add-On without any stretch goals. This has 12 floor tiles.
HULK - Showed with a few Add-Ons and some of the stretch goals. We added a small Floor Tiles, a couple of Turbines and the Medi-Bay Add-Ons. So this has 15 floor tiles.
These Add-Ons can be activated in the next few days, please let us know if this is something you would be interested in.
It should be noted that we are not able to mix your pledges, So if you have a x2 Stronghold and want x1 stronghold and x1 Hulk, you would need to change your pledge and this means you might loose an early bird. We must keep the pledges clean and simple to view for new backers as this will help the KS run it's natural course and give you the most stretch goals. )
Lastly Postage...
We've noticed that there are still a few UK pledges that have not included the postage that is needed for the UK. The cost of the postage is in the pledge details for the rewards on the main page on the right of the screen. Please check your pledge and amend as needed. For example the stronghold for the UK is £70, plus £8 postage, so you pledge total should be £78. Just click the 'Manage my Pledge' button and increase your pledge by the relevant amount. Each Pledge level has a different postage due to the extreme weight of the sets. )
Right next up is the Video, we will shoot this and explain some of the finer points as mentioned in previous updates. Also we are working hard on new content to be able to show you soon. Well it's the new content first, but we will get to the video!! Plenty of time, (Twitch) )
Thanks again we are STILL moving steady even though we were told it would stop after 3-5 days, Amazing you guys are doing this with your posts. Keep it up.
You're the best
Colin
Automatically Appended Next Post: This is how you get the Hulk on it's own
Note: if you want to buy the Hulk add-on only please pledge £1 then increase the pledge to the cost of the Hulk add-on. If you already have a pledge level simply add the cost as any normal add-on.
You have to include the £1 in the pledge total so UK Hulk would be £79 on it's own.

Hmm interesting. So for me this changes nothing as I'll either get 1 stronghold or two. But great to see them taking care of other backers with more options

I'm currently in for one of the multiple stronghold sets but thinking of changing to multiple hulk sets or downgrading to one or two strongholds and a couple of hulks on top. What do you think is the cheapest way to get a 4' x 4' board? I'm wanting to use the set for Zone Mortalis and 4' x 4' is about the ideal size from what I can tell.

Do you want multilevel stuff? a 4x4 board with 2-3 levels of stuff will be a lot more fun with that vertical gameplay than a single 4x4 level imo. Hulk is single level, station is multi-level. 1 of either should cover a 2x2, so you sort of need 4 for a full 4x4 covering. I like the added gantries and stuff from stronghold so that's what I'll be going for, but I'm still deciding between 2 or 4.
The absolute cheapest would probably be 2 hulks and some extra floor/wall addons but I think you'll lose a lot of very nice extras if you do that.

Stronghold has 9 tiles per set
Hulk has 12 tiles per set
You can buy 3 floor tile and 9 floor tile packs as add ons
Stronghold x4 = 4x4
Hulk x3 = 4x4
Stronghold x3 plus 1x 9 floor tile pack = 4x4
Stronghold x2 plus Hulk x1 plus 3 floor tile pack x2 = 4x4
There's lots of ways to do depending on what you want to build
Thanks for breaking that down for me, went for Stronghold x2 plus Hulk x1 plus 3 floor tile pack x2 = 4x4. The 4 strongholds is another £38 at the moment, just a little too far that close to Nidmas.

Yeah Snrub, that was initially my plan but AvP (at least at KS launch) was too expensive for me to justify getting it. I'm hoping it gets enough added value by the end for me to pick it up since the terrain is perfect - especially since they're thinking about adding "damaged" terrain, such as explosion and acid damage. Acid damage.... ; )
My main use will be Deadzone initially, but I also hope to get smaller scale 40K going on this terrain - and am actively working on converting 40k units to Deadzone rules. SMs are basically done, with another ~6 armies on the go. Fast paced SMs vs Tau vs 'Nids (for example) 3 way in Battle Systems terrain with Deadzone fast action rules will be pretty glorious imo!

I can see there's still some slight confusion about add-ons. To buy add-ons you need to have pledged for the Outpost or above (this is to stop people buying tonnes of stuff and not pay postage!). The only exception is the Hulk add-on and that's because the price includes postage. After that you can buy as many add-ons as you like.

That way we are not always playing deep INSIDE a station/complex/lab/etc.
Exterior scatter terrain (like all of your great interior accessories) would be useful as well.
thank you for the great product!

Nothing to do with me davethepak this is Battle Systems KS I'm not connected to them in any way other than being able to have a good chat with Wayne and Colin (from Battle Systems) in the KS comments (great guys to chat with and they are very open to suggestions/ideas). Battle Systems themselves don't post directly to forums they leave it to backers to get the word out.
Exterior Walls is on their list of things to do if they can get far enough but that would involved making a new tool which is expensive so they need to fund that first with add ons of existing stuff and the reskins which are cheaper to do. The Elevator, Window Wall, Wall Console set and the Med lab set are completely new tools that they have funded through this KS. They have a few more to add first like the previewed lockers and they have some new prototypes to show off tonight.

Yeah the price/content ratio put me off AVP too. For now... There is no price/content discrepancy with this product though. I'm thinking this may also mesh really well with my ruined city TableScape board.
Two strained eyeballs, 3 scalpel cuts and an ignored family later... we have something new. lol.
It's the... err... flexi-door, ... err... don't have a name for it yet, but it will allow you to have a Detention Cell, Air-Lock or heavy Struts for your rooms and Corridors. As part of our DLC range we have the Detention Cell Room Pack, which we always intended to redesign for the new terrain set. Mainly because of the scenario options it opens up, (like rescue and escape missions), but also because it adds another door option. However, after all the feedback from the comments, messages and emails, it's clear that people wanted other items. With this in mind I have designed this from the ground up to try and fit in a few more options. So the Detention Cell can also be an Airlock or simply more solid cover and eye candy for your rooms and corridors.
So lets take a look...
Detention Cell
Simply clip the Wall parts onto the set using the clips provided as part of your pledge. Then place the Energy Field/Shield. I have played many rescue missions on our DLC range and it really does make games fun. Having to split your force to protect you while you deactivate the Cell door and release your allies. )
ok, boys, i'm going to drop the shield, ready?
Airlock
Airlock is always a great way to represent either an entry point from where to start the game or an escape exit point to head towards as part of your scenario. Ever wanted to blast someone out of an airlock, well now's your chance. Maybe this could be where the escape pods live? As above, just clip onto the walls and use the new airlock door.
Cover Struts
Rooms and corridors are already full of cover for your groups to hide behind, but lob a grenade in there and you might find those crates and computer terminals disappear quickly. Well, lets see you shoot through a solid stone wall! Use the Wall parts of this to make more interesting cover options and generally make your set look COOL!
We have really tried to open up the use of a tool here to give as much value for your money as possible. This item will not fill a whole tool, so I'm working on some items that can accompany it and when done will show these. Then I will crunch the numbers and set it as a future Stretch Goal along with some others.
What about those Lockers?
Well we will be working on some other items to go with these so that we can have a tool of neat room themed items for you to grab.
As always let us know your thoughts in the comments on this update so they are easy to find and then discuss the C**P out of it in the comments. See you there...

Would really love to see them release the airlock and struts. I'm really impressed with what these guys are doing. I have fond memories of my old GW Imperial Firebase, and other card terrain from back in the day.
Say, dumb OT question: who makes/sells the clear bases they use on their minis? I don't recall seeing them anywhere.

They got a load off eBay for this purpose - they are trying to see if they can add them as an option as they are getting clear acrylic clips cut anyway not sure if it will happen. Litko do clear bases as do Fenris Games.
