So far, it's enjoyable, I'm not much of a tablet gamer, so I'm still getting used to the controls, but I like it.
The game doesn't beat you around the ears with "buy more gold / ore now!" a lot. You can get free boosts and whatnot by watching a minute long trailer, which isn't exactly the end of the world.

Do you know how well Knights have sold?
Serious question. I see at least one or two get sold every week at my local GW.
This has no relevance as to whether this is an attempt to sell more or not.
Shields down lad.
Also, can we get the word Freeblade put back into the thread title? For a brief second I thought it was a major surprise release of 8th!

I pre-ordered one at the FLGS as well, I could stand to use some more diverse iconography for my own Knights.

Well I'll be damned, GW is finally releasing something alongside a licensed property. Sure, it's just a transfer sheet, but this is something they just don't do.
I played the game over my lunch hour. The game is fun, there have definately been worse attempts put out by them. It has the standard microtransaction "pushes" to pay for the good stuff/bonuses, but I could see playing this as a diversion for 15-30 minutes at a time and not having to bother with that junk.
I think things like the transfer sheet, the boardgames, return of the specialist wing and such as the fetal steps of GW realizing that need to start engaging their customers once again, in a positive fashion. Hope they just don't shoot the baby dead the first time it stumbles a bit.

I've only played it for maybe 15 minutes, but it's enjoyable. It did seem to trend on Facebook yesterday, which I think is pretty huge. That and the tie-in transfer sheet from GW all seem like a good step toward... something. In theory, more exposure to Warhammer for the general public = more customers.

Ok, have played some more last night, and now I'm ticked. I take back my initial positive review of this game. Six missions in, and it has hit the full-on "grind or pay up to continue" level of play. I no longer recommend this.

I'm loving this game. Addictive as hell. Onto the 3 campaign. So far haven't noticed any pay or you'll never advance bits. Free game. What's not to love!!

Like this?. They also released models for Fire Warrior (+ a new gun) and Age of Reckoning.·

The game is made in a pretty clever way - Apple will be/has been using it to demonstrate the 'power' of iPhone 6s because it uses a lot of options the new iPhone gives developers (technologically, I assume), as well as being one of the few games so far to use their new "3D Touch" thingy.
Yup, I'm still playing regularly. Still enjoy it.
Pretty much in the same situation as you - hit level cap recently, all oranges, but mine are all minimum 350.

I picked it up again two months ago and I check in every day at the very least to get my daily rewards and do the odd challenge, slowly gathering enough ore so I can upgrade enough parts to play the next part of the story.

I do patrols when I can be arsed in all honesty. I know I need the patrol badges to advance the story, but they can become tedious every once in a while.

Yes! If you complete all of the missions, you have the chance to get a Lightning Cannon, just as you had the chance to get a the Gauntlet. And for the record, the Gauntlet is awesome.
