Not confirmed, but the Ironjawz box is called "Thunderfist" and all of their Battalions are similar... Ironfist, Gorefist, Brutefist.

That version of it, yea. But get some armor bits from the Maw-krusha, Gore-gruntas, or even Mega Nobz kits and he'll look awesome.

True, it's more the destruction of the faction special battlelines that I have the issue with. I hadn't thought about using additional armor bitz from larger kits to armor him up. That at least makes him fit style wise. Thanks

They could potentially have the Thunderfist Battalion give him the Keyword. We'll have to wait a few weeks to find out, though.

Probably won't get points though.

And if so, he needs ironjawz key word or its essentially useless.

Would be nice to see a moon clan set at some point though.

Thanks.

Whilst pricing them out I found out that GW sells a Wolf Guard kit. It is the same as the regular Space Wolf kit, except it comes with half the models (5 vs 10).

To my complete surprise, it's costed at exactly half the cost of the 10... ahnhhhahh no it's not. It's 78% the cost of 10 for 50% the content.

Oh GW!

The Ad Mech is tempting, but I think I'll hold out for one of the Black Friday bundles. Hopefully the do a DE one (and not a box based on Wych Cults. Covens or Kabalites only, thank you). Maybe after this run of sets, they'll switch the armies up and do another round.

At the same time they also have a Blood Claw kit, which is the same as the regular SW kit, but has 15 models and is ~142% of the cost for 150% of the models.
An ok deal but since the Blood Claw kit is a webstore exclusive it's cheaper to just buy the basic box from a retailer with a discount.

The Space Wolves Battleforce could make about 1000-1200 points. A start collecting Space Wolves box would add another 400-600 points.

Definitely the cost efficient way to start a new army or get someone into the game.

Why are people surprised that its armies with newer models? What are they going to have resin battleforces? Are they going to re-release Sisters of Battle in a Battleforce? An AoS Death Battleforce with 15 year old models? Cmon guys.

I'm just annoyed that the Space Wolf one has 15 Grey Hunters. I have 10 Grey Hunters and 15 Bloodclaws, how many do I goddam need?!??!?!? Its such a good deal but I dont know what I would do with those troop guys.

Build them as anything you realistically want barring Skyclaws or Swiftclaws?

Grey Hunters and Blood Claws aren't a "set" like any other army realistically has for Troops. They're the basis for practically every foot version of Space Wolf out there.

Long Fangs? Use that sprue plus some leftover weapons from the Devastator sprues! No Grav-Cannons though.
Wolf Guard without Terminator Armor? Oh look...you can do that without having to have bits from other sprues!
Skyclaws? Get some Jump Packs!
Want to build a Wolf Lord? Can do, boss!

I get that they feel like a "tax" in the box, but it's not like getting Scouts or Terminators or Vanguard/Sternguard Veterans.

These sets really highlight the cost discrepancy between armies. Just compare what you get in SW vs AdMech or Khorne vs anything.

Eh. AdMech is, for lack of a better description, mostly full of tax units.

Electropriests? Dragoons/Ironstriders? They should have just doubled up on Kataphron and Kastellans.

Hey, Scouts are awesome thank you very much!

Turns out that according to the GHB FAQ models NOT of your allegiance in warscroll battalions FOR your allegiance, don't actually count AGAINST your allegiance. You basically treat them as not being there for that purpose.

Allegiance.

Anyone got the prices in American? I haven't seen a definitive answer, everyone just seems to be guessing. The admech seems like a nice "one of everything" type of deal and I'm kind of tempted if they finally get wrapped into a single proper army.

This has not been 100% confirmed, but it is $170. (twice the price of a start collecting set)

So the Khorne Bloodbound box... is this the same content as in the Khorne Bloodbound Expansion but with an extra hero and a price reduction?

I will laugh my butt off if the Ironjawz one has a battalion that makes the Gargant count as Ironjawz allegiance, and then said battalion has no points, making the gargant useless in Matched Play out of the box. There's no reason to expect any of these battalions to include points for use in Matched Play.

Id bet money it does make him Ironjawz. Why don't you think they would give it points? Adding points to it is very easy, plus with the time taken to make points for everything else, makes sense to fold it into it. Points are what they promote for AOS. Their battle reports all use points now.

If for whatever reason it doesn't have points, id also bet within a week of release they will have some PDF/Blog Article giving each one points. Have a little faith in em to do something right on this.

bloodbound is kind of funny...
all of the other kits go 20 minis, 18 minis and then BAM, 40!

Come on guys, I just talked about this. It doesn't matter if the battalion makes him Ironjawz, so long as he's IN a battalion you still get your allegiance, even if he doesn't specifically become ironjaws. As for points...eh...50/50, depends on which GW shows up, the respond to leaked holiday bundles by giving clearer photos GW or the pick the best selling factions without really thinking about it and leaving death(AOS) and Chaos/Xenos(40k) pretty much out in the cold GW.

None of the other battalions in boxes have had points, why would you expect these to? Were the other ones pre-General's Handbook?

Two marine boxes seems redundant. I would have made one of those into DE or Orks. I guess they know that good armies sell more.

Which really seems to be self-defeating. The armies that sell more get more love, so they sell more, so they get more love. Repeat ad infinitum.

Yeah that's what it seems like, i'm sure if they sold other forces (hello Fyreslayers) they would still have a large success rate.

And that is what GW did to Lord of the Rings. One of the reasons why it fell off big time. One of the reasons why I quit LotR and never did The Hobbit. I see GW is doing that with 40K a bit.

Was really hoping there was going to a be a Genestealer cult box. For Age of Sigmar I was hoping in the Orruk (sorry if I got the name wrong the orks) had the beast/mini dragon in the box. If it had it, I would have got it.

Everything is made up and the points don't matter. 40K or Who's Line is it Anyway?

Man, I saw those battleforce boxes on Facebook yesterday, and my big question was going to be "How much do they want for that?" I'd really like the Deathwatch one, as I've been torn about possibly getting Death Masque (not like I need Harlequins though, and no one around my area would want to trade or split a box for the Harlies so...). December will be a 3-paycheck month, so I will have some extra money. If the Deathwatch Battleforce is really only $170, the answer is going to be "Shut up and take my money GW!" I figure I can get the battleforce, a Corvus Blackstar, and the DW codex for possibly less than $300 if I get at least some of that on eBay.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
Check out my P&M Blogs: ZergSmasher's P&M Blog | Imperial Knights blog | Board Games blog | Total models painted in 2023: 40 | Total models painted in 2024: 12 | Current main painting project: Dark Angels
