Thanks guys. I have a lot of D&D and some pathfinder minis to paint so I'm going to give the Reaper lines a closer look. Vallejo paints are nice, but availability is hit or miss from what I'm seeing.

I got a slew of their paints recently when Vallejo was hard to get (due to switching to making hand disinfectant IIRC) and I see no difference.
The paint compatibility guide on Dakka was very helpful.
https://www.dakkadakka.com/wiki/en/Paint_Range_Compatibility_Chart
I am a mediocre painter at best however, so I'm sure some of our better painters might have stronger opinions.

FWIW, I think that Vallejo is the best around, esp. for their pigment concentration, but past that I think they're really all pretty close to the same. The only line I tend to avoid is Army Painter, which in my experience tends to be a bit drab vs. equivalent colors in other lines.

I do like my Vallejo paints, but the pigment settles very quickly. I' m always shaking them up, moreso than other paints I've used, including the 'artists' paints from Liquitex and Golden. I've taken to dropping a few airsoft BBS into each bottle, just to speed up the re-mixing.
How are Reaper paints for settling?

Them and P3 are probably the best for this I would think while Scale Color and Vallejo are some of the worst. Scale Color are still my go to paints though but boy do they need a shaking after just a few hours. The only line I tend to avoid is Army Painter, which in my experience tends to be a bit drab vs. equivalent colors in other lines. There's a huge difference between lines but most of us really don't care and that's the finish. Some are really glossy, others are super matte and that really affects how they look when dried (big thing for competition painters/dioramas) as some finishes are really the only way you can communicate certain materials and states well (like damp soil). But since most people here use their minis we use a spray finish on them to seal with removes this benefit. If you watch someone like Ben Kommits go over paints you'd be surprised on how finishes can really change how the painted area is perceived especially when next to similar colors with a different finish. There's other differences too like gel based paints (Scale Color) which control and blend different then more traditional acrylics. Paints are usually developed for a specific painting style and to easily get a very specific finished look. Glossy paints blend easier on the model as the gloss tricks the eye for example. But if you're not a studio painter or a competition painter I don't think it really matters what you buy as long as it works for you. I use Scale Color and their game color lines as they just work well with how I paint so I can get pretty decent results in 40-50 min on average but they're super matte and so some blending techniques don't really work easily with those paints. I'm not super fancy in my painting but I like how they feel and they get the results I like faster then other paints.

If comparing Reaper paints to other acrylics, I have some experiences to share:
A few years ago I bought some stainless steel balls off ebay (china) to use as agitators in the paint bottles.
Turned out they were not "stainless" and rusted in the bottles.
They rusted in citadel (old and new), vallejo, army painter, scale75 and some other brands I had.
But not in Reaper paints.
When I fished them out with a magnet on a brush handle, the reaper ones were still pristine when I washed the paint off. In the other brands, the balls had rusted and grown lumpy.
(I now use haematite beads instead, there have been no issues with any paint brand I have.)
I still can mix reaper paints with other brands no problems.
Also, Reaper paints have good coverage directly on bones material, where other brand (looking at you army painter) were rejected by the plastic and did not cover at all.
Of course, some colours have better coverage than others, just like all brands.

New stuff!
Looks like a Halloween themed release so there are funkier models than we've gotten lately. Like...
Fellclaw, Scarecrow Guardian! Finally someone to guard those scarecrows I keep in the barn!
A Nosferatu vampire who can also serve as a Brujah or Tremere with some light conversion work.
Erebus Nalis is not only an evil sorcerer but coven-wide Pull-My-Finger Champion 4 years running.
A bugbear, with a pumpkin head! Is he the victim of an unfortunate polymorph accident? An expecially enthusiastic cucurbita fan? Or just getting into the Halloween spirit? Only you can decide!
A group of Wiccans practicing their seasonal fertility rituals using organically-raised, locally-sourced skulls
And my personal favorite...
The Headless Footman! Who, I note, comes with 3 heads!

I got my October order in today, and in addition to the Goodie bag, there also was another Pink paint, Breast Cancer Awareness Pink..
It is a different shade than Brain Pink, so that is nice to see
Might be needing more Cemetery parts.. for some reason the Long Walls are a 4 pack, and the Short Walls are a 3 pack..

And more spooky stuff! First up two chibbis called Small World Reaper's trademark succubus and Whoever this is. Looks like a new line, I've seen the mouslings but I don't remember seeing this before. The Tree of Woe Despair, suitable for any Conan generic barbarian hero game you may have planned. 2 ghouls and a ghast for $6. The ghast can also be used a ghoul or the ghouls as ghasts by the simple expedient of forgetting what the difference it. Two vampire bloodlords who can also see use as late 90s LARPers. A fearsome mummy and her companion the almost as fearsome but not as well-known duddy. Two Frankensteins which are called Graveflesh Servants which is weird since Frankenstein was written in 1818 and has been in the public domain for over a century. And finally 3 townsfolk for them to prey on. Or are they? Is that a stake I see hidden among the scribe's scrolls? Is that milkmaid actually holding a pail of holy water? Is that cooper carrying a barrel of flamable oil? Only you can decide!

Frankenstein is the creator not the monster.
Technically, as Dr. Frankenstein referred to the monster as a sort of 'Adam' (as in Adam & Eve) as well as being his 'son' the monster's name would be Adam Frankenstein, making Kid's use of the name technically correct. The best kind of correct.
Alternatively Kid could be using "Frankensteins" as shorthand for the much wordier "Frankenstein's Monsters" understanding that people will understand exactly what he is referring to regardless.

Glad to be of service!
As for Frankensteins, besides triggering the pedantic, I like term since well, children are named for their father, and inventions for their creator. And Adam fits into both categories.
And also, anyone who thinks his creation was the monster wasn't paying attention. Frankenstein is definitely the monster in the story.
