The last few episodes are bs. I hope the manga doesn't end like that.

Is the manga as disjointed as the anime? I (mostly) enjoyed the anime, but I found the inconsistent tech levels, the constant shark jumping (seriously, what the feth is with Seryu's arms? Humans aren't briefcases, you just can't shove an armory in them and expect them to live) and the "level up" lines to be off putting.
The rushed character arcs and the excessive monologues didn't help matters either.

The manga's story is very different after episode like 4, and is still being released. I actually liked it better than the anime for the most part. There were only a few things I think the anime was able to do better, but overall I preferred the manga and its vastly different story.

Man, was looking forward to Ninja Slayer because I've really liked Trigger's last few, but eh, did not care for that style at all. I'll give it a couple more episodes but I may not stick with this one.

Oh damn, Ninja Slayer IS "Inferno Cop - Ninja style" but with some quality animations thrown here and there.

It's fraking nuts.

YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAART!!!

Edit: Interesting, it seems this Ninja Slayer is only an ONA (An original net animation (ONA), known in Japan as Web Anime ) - Looks like the real anime is schedule for 2016.

Anime[edit]
In April 2014, Enterbrain announced that an anime adaptation of the novel is in production, later revealing that it is being produced by Trigger.[2] More details were announced in Los Angeles, CA at Anime Expo 2014.[3] The anime will be directed by Akira Amamiya, a teaser trailer shown at Anime Expo 2014 will be put on the revamped official website of Ninja Slayer, and the main theme, "Back In Black", will be performed by electronic band Boom Boom Satellites.[4] The anime will premiere on Niconico on April 16, 2015, and a later television broadcast in 2016.[5] Funimation has licensed streaming and home video rights of the anime for North America.[6]

Oh, and thanks everyone for the help deciding the colors. Here's the final result! A sexy "Dark Mechanicus" vibe with the violet / pink energy to tie them with NUDISTO BEACHU. Star Uniforms and Nudist Beach have been chosen, all I'll be missing is the Osaka rabble. I'll probably just get random civilian / zombie survivor miniatures and arm them with las-guns

That's because you're a heartless feth I think you should check out Kekkai Sensen, it's got a bit of a Cowboy Bebop vibe to it.

Meanwhile in Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls In a Dungeon (which I'm now calling by the subtitle, Familia Myth, feth writing all that gak out) besides having a kick ass third episode, Hestia started a fashion trend.

I picked up the English translation of the Familia Myth Light Novel on Thursday. Let me tell, that is some bad fanfic-esque writing. I'm hoping that it's just the English translations. Here's just a snippet...
Spoiler:
Is is wrong to try to pick up girls in a dungeon? You know, an endless labyrinth divided into multiple floors and filled with scary monsters?

Expectation: Join a group of fearless adventurers seeking wealth and fame. Go off to battle as soon as guild registration is complete. Meet a beautiful girl and protect her from an onslaught of monsters with only a sword in my hand. The air fills with her echoing screams, the monsters' roas, and the clash of my sword as we face certain death. In the end, all that remains is her sitting on the floor beside my cool, heroic self standing over the remains of all the monsters I slew. Her cheeks blush as she looks upon me with beautiful, sparkling eyes. Love is about to bloom.

....

I want to grow up a bit, become the kind of hero men dream about in tales of adventure. I want to be more than friends with cute girls. I want to meet the ladies of all the different races. Isn't having these slightly corrupt and naive thoughts part of being a young man? Is trying to meet girls in a dungeon, no... a harem, really that wrong?

Conclusion: I was wrong. I'm about to die courtest of these slightly corrupt and naive thoughts. Basically, I'm being chased by the bull-headed man-beast, the Minotaur. I'm going to be devoured by a monster that my measly Level one attacks can't even scratch. I'm dead. So, so dead.

That's just from the first two pages. It doesn't really improve from there, and essentially if you've seen the first three episodes you've read volume 1, but better. I am really digging the show and the LN does give some background the anime doesn't, some about Bell, some about the basic differences between the familia, but it's not very well written in the end. I'm still gonna watch the show despite my feelings on the LN.

Also, long live the boob string! And this for good measure: http://hestia.dance/ (have your volume turned low, it is sfw)

While Hestia is bestia, I <3 Loki.

So, we're three weeks in, has anyone dropped shows yet? I thought I was going to drop Denpa Kyoushi, but episode 3 was like a slightly better episode 1, and I kind of understand why they did episodes 1 and 2 now.

I am probably dropping Seraph of the End because it's just not grabbing me the way the premise did. I was assuming the good guys might be at least redeemable, but they're almost as bad as the vampires. I'm also not sure about the future of Plastic Memories and Gunslinger Stratos. The premise of the shows are interesting enough, but I feel like the plots is just not progressing at a pace that doesn't leave me bored. I've yet to watch episode 3 of Gunslinger Stratos at the time of writing this, so I might have to make an edit later.

Drop anything... I dropped the cooking one in the middle of the first ep, dropped the .... Pick up girls in a dungeon or whatever is the title in the middle of the first ep, I know I dropped one more, still haven't seen more plastic memories or triage X...

Yeah, I think this season is being a resounding meh, nothing is making me actually think it's a nice idea to go waste 20 mns of my time and watch a ep besides probably Knights of Sidonia and Ninja Slayer (hell, this one is even a 10 mns show). And the strange part is how I was excited with several of them and I did enjoy what I saw and yet I'm now "meh".

I guess this season for me is a break from anime. God-Emperor knows I have plenty to paint and Pillars of Eternity and World of Warships to play.

Hell, if I'm talking nuts here, I may even take this as a sign of fate and finally attempt to watch JoJo

I ditched Sound! Euphonium over the side. The MC was annoying and I care very little about band gak. There's only so far cute girls doing cute things can go, and I guess that's it for me.

I'm guessing that Familia Myth LN is just the translation, I'm guessing it's a fanlation?

I picked up Sound! Just to see if cute girls doing cute things was able to stand on its own. I'll probably not watch more of it, especially when Re-Kan has cute girls doing cute things with ghosts, and a pervy cat. Though I guess not as pervy as the cat in Punch Line

The translation is "official". It's gotten better as I move through the chapters. But, if it's as close to a real translation as you can get, you can tell the author isn't a professional writer. Also the PoV changes in the middle of chapters. In one scene it's first person from Bell and next it's third person omniscient where we see Hestia's thoughts. Kind of odd.

Also the price that Hestia has to pay is kind of humorous. The LN gives the stats for Bell and the knife at the end of the book.

Glad you liked ep1 of Kekkai Sensen

I kinda agree on both of those as well, though the third Plastic Memories is at least pretty funny. They really do both move slowly however and Gunslinger will probably be my first drop out of what I was interested in thusfar.

Apparently there will be a second season.
I thought it was a charming little show myself, though lighter than I am used to.

I don't understand the purpose of Carnival Corpse in Deadman Wonderland; is it like in Mad World, where a bunch of depraved rich folks bet on who lives?
They call it an experiment, which implies that they are being tested, but if that's the case, why kill off test subjects? It just seems unnecessarily cruel.

I enjoyed Noragami mostly.

In regards to Carnival Corpse, I think it's reminiscent of gladiatorial events in ancient Rome, but the brutality of the situation is made even more stark by the misunderstanding of the unthinking masses who watch it/pay money to see it while not necessarily believing they are witnessing actual deaths.

In my mind it's just a further extension of the pitfighting the rich people are betting on underground for the characters that all actually have extra powers, and one that leaves people on the outside feeling excited by the spectacle of it all. They're far less likely to question things going on in the private facility when they see these massive silly games being held for their entertainment, especially since they can't seem to understand what they're actually seeing. It also provides a scenario (however truly unlikely), to show where this private facility is getting it's funding from so people don't question it.

When you get done watching the show, check out the manga if you're still interested in the premise. The ending.... just... man, I can't even explain if it's perfect or if it makes me want to throw things. It isn't mind blowing. But it is a direction I did not see them taking things at all. I sort of couldn't believe what I just read. I didn't know 'what' to feel I was so torn.

I finally gave into all the Hestia hype, and watched the first two episodes of "is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon". Pretty good, much better than I expected. I'll defiantly be watching it. Kind of reminds me of an RPG mixed with the Percy Jackson series.
