Thanks matey! They're in priming as we speak!
Been a bit slack on the painting front, but had a nice quiet afternoon so got on with stuff today.
Did my other blight drone:
So ... Much... Weathering...
And my Cyborg Dreadball team, whilst watching the Mantic Q&A.
They will add your biological distinctiveness to their own...
Human Jacks
Great minis, really feel like speedborgTM
Judwan and Kalyshi Strikers
By contrast, not huge fans these, because they're just too similar to the not-undead versions.
Orc and Nameless Guards
Now there's a Cybork! And I love Nameless, as we know.
Captain and prone Zees (inexplicably)
No Zees come in the team pack, but I do have some spare. I might need to zombify some others too, reckon I've got some Veer-Myn parts knocking
So another 16 models done. 347.
That's a bit more like it, eh?
Although Mrs G told me off for batch painting the team
18 to beat target, which is average of 1 per day. 393 to double last year. Is good to have life goals
On we go

Dr H wrote:Good work on all the things, Graven'. Nice weathering.
Cheers. A lot of weathering powder was used on this one! I used Humbrol, rather than FW rust, simply to try it: FW have stopped doing powders, so I figure I'll try a different brand and see how well it works. Pretty good, not quite as soluble, which is good and bad: you get more lumps if you run it through a wash (eg Camoshade) but it doesn't adhere quite as readily to the surface. monkeytroll wrote:The Asda near work has never had it in, and no Asda near me. Only place I've seen it is Smith's near me, and I can only get there weekends. Nice job on the drone Obviously a fan of the cybork
That sucks. Co- op sometimes has it, weirdly. Yeah, the Cybork guards are lovely figs, even if I'm unlikely to run them as the Nameless ones are terrifyingly good. Maybe on principle I just should Well, got a couple of bits done Sunday. Little one is a bit poorly with croup, and whene'er she gets a cough, the spew is sure to follow :( Papa loves to spread his blessings But a good day nonetheless, got some initial base colour on the undersides (and therefore through the open vents/floors) of all the damn MDF (mostly to seal it for now), primed the haulers (2 down, one to acquire), and finished up the nurglings: Such fun models. After the Dreadball q&a Saturday ( tl;dr it's not really selling, big stuff happening on Superbowl Sunday... But nothing else really till then), I feel like I want to give it more of a push; it's easily my favourite game out there at the moment. So, on a whim, painted the Enforcer, an MVP (star player). Yes, Iron Man, so sue me, House of Mouse. In my defence his standard scheme is Red and silver Yet again, rubbish phone camera pics. On a separate note, I hate Android OS 8, it's done weird things to (amongst other things) camera and lighting settings and it compresses the images so left with grainy, low-res images. Not impressed. Trust me, he looks less rubbish. I'm sorely tempted to paint up an entire Corp Team in these colours, what with all those different variants of Iron Man Armour out there. Anyway, 351 I also picked up an MVP job lot off eBay, which is going to form a chunk of xmas gifting for erithromycin and metropolis - not entirely sure what's there but neither of them own MVPs, captains or staff so they'll get some goodies (definitely spied metropolis's team captain which is an absolute swine to get hold of). Figure if I get them properly sorted we can get some serious game going In other RL news, work continues to be pretty ropey. Sorely tempted to apply for a job outside school altogether, training teachers. Lastly. Just a couple of days left in the contest: https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/763977.page Check it out! Later Graven

Mt you have mad skills. You're building like crazy at the moment.
So, I got a lovely pile of terrain goodies from Gamemat.eu to review from their new Necropolis range.
3x3 mat £34/$35.50/E39.90. Squares are just off an inch, which is mildly annoying (Deadzone works in 3" squares)
The alien vaults are cool but feel a bit big. I love the removable doors and canopies, however.
£129/$145/E145 For the set, prepainted and ready to go.
Nothing to see here...

Indeed, certainly serviceable. My only gripe is that the walkways around the walls aren't perfectly straight but again, they're fine.
Also I mentioned to Gamemat about the squares and they said they'd look into it.

So yesterday was #1's 11th birthday... He was 3 when I started this blog the Redemptor he asked for is already built. Good lad
Anyway, this bad boy came (eventually) thanks to FedEx...
Let's open it up and see, shall we?
Some immediately obvious components, some obvious from AOW.
Cardstock is nice and heavy.
Same walkers as the core box. Not that surprising I guess, but would've liked new sculpts personally. However, the hard plastic is much better and the casts are crisp as all heck.
Saviours are really nice, great sculpts. I like the Negan is the new, non- ks/Mantic point version, though no doubt folk will moan about that the way I moan about the Walkers pre-order customers also get AOW cards for these guys (they're getting boosters in wave 6, but still). But I'd just buy it for the oversized Lucille
The card layout is familiar enough to anyone who's played AOW, and obvious enough if you haven't.
So yeah, looks snazzy. Hopefully get a play through at the weekend.
On a separate note, KM have finally got back in touch. We might even be seeing the potter game!
Ta-ta,
Graven

Indeed! It's a bloody good game. Deadly in solo play though.

Lol. I'm a comics man. I pretty much gave up around issue 100 (which is Negan, in fact). We go somewhere. People are nice. Wait! People are not nice. Who knew? We leave. We go somewhere... etc. Kirkman's clearly bored of it. Outcast is so much better.
I wrote a reaaaaaaaallly detailed review of the game. And then accidentally wiped it.
tl;dr it's a great hybrid of dungeon quest and space hulk, with zombies. If you, or a loved one, likes such things, it's a great buy.
In the interim, here's the boards, a double sided modular factory complex.
15x25. So good for indoor KT, too.
On a separate note, the eldest really wants a plasma incinerator for his Dreadnought. So...
Gotta love gs.
The things we do for our kids eh? He's getting to raid the bits box for base scatter also. I may regret that!
And the Dreadball Facebook are having a "Paint a team in a week" contest. Challenge accepted!
Tentacular Spectacular (really, what else could I call them?)
Better photos when daylight.
Still, very happy, and they're in the same colours as my Nameless army for Deadzone.

Adiós

Somewhere I heard that the original idea of the walking dead was it was the initial attack of aliens. That the aliens used the native life forms to wipe themselves out before they arrived to conquer the planet. I just watched season 8 when it hit Netflix, it was okay, but I’m so tired of them finding doctors on their own in the wild and the good guys getting to say goodbye the way Karl did.

I agree that Outcast dips after Vol.2. Anyway, the best post- apoc stuff out there at the moment is either Lazarus or Killtopia anyway. And, thanks!

Yeah, the alien story is reasonably well-known. 15 years ago, no-one wanted Zombies. Hard to believe, even with the success of 28 Days' Later.
