I think one of the most inspirational things about this project, general good karma-ness aside, is seeing everyone's skills at every level develop. I know I'm chronically slow but I'm aware that what I'm doing is getting better every steip of the way (well, ish)

@Ramos, Your marine is just receiving final highlights. I'm not to base him, is that correct?

Thanks to you all for the lovely comments on my marines, what can I say, I'm lucky to have a good camera that can make me look good . Ice's marine still has a long way to go before its ready to send, its only base colours atm, but I'm getting there.

Gretar, your painting technique is coming along very nicely however if you are going for Salamanders the green is too dark imho. What method and paints are you using? Are you going for a more girm-dark look?

Best thing about this project is watching everyone's skills develop and seeing everyone do their best work for each other. Been a lot of fun so far!

Ha im going to buy some deathwatch shoulder guards and start painting 10 of my marines (after my warhound is done) and then im taking orders.
Would be great if i can get a deathwatch team of Dakka chapters together that way .

Actually its the second time I paint using this technuiqe, the first attempt being my Salamander TechMarine that I did some time ago. Its just constant drybrusing > Washing > Drybrushing > Washing until you get to the stag ef blending you like. Then I edge highlight the whole miniture and glaze some scorpion green on the highest areas. It turnes out quite nicely, the miniture just looks so dark becouse its very WIP, dont worry though, when it's finished it will appear to be somwhat more happy green salamander Although I think they are much more Grim Dark that one of those salad eating, happy, bright coloured, net T-shirt wearing.. you see were this is going..

LOL!

On another note I'll probably be taking a break from the swap scene after I complete my outstanding trades. What with my dissertation, marine army, possible Sisters of Silence conversions and starting a Cryx Warmachine faction I'll just be too pressed for time. Though I do urge everyone to keep it going cos I want another piece of the action when I get back.

Fantastic work IceAngel, Its a great army colour combo you have. I've already found some fluff that I'll be expanding on for this guy. So can't wait to get him. I'll send yours as soon as I can but I've got a diss proposal for Monday so that takes precedent (though I'd rather be painting).

@ sage hey man im havent gotten your marine yet buddy. I got iceangels and a special trade i did with gitsplitta im sending stuff as it comes that way i wont forget lol. Im still waiting on your marine and BBLs.
