The plan right now is to build some blight drone style rotors, and add biomechanical parts here and there.

Sounds promising. You could maybe use Drop pod bases to work from for the rotors? Maybe?

Maybe too solid/angular but this is the part I was meaning.

Or there is the side panels from the Tau tank range.

Meh, looking again I dont think either of them would work actually lol.

Yeah, it's a bit too angular - I think I'll have to scratchbuild them.

WOw Guita, you are one crazy sob.

Everything you do is ridiculously inspired, that wasp is sheer genius. The gd is looking to be progressing wonderfully, and that giant fly should be a wonder to behold by the time you're done, great way to fit the chaos flyer theme to your army.

Just to let you know, my jaw has been floored by not only your painting skills, but your creativity as well. To say that I'm flabbergasted would be an understatement.

Keep up the outstanding work.

Thanks a lot guys - really appreciate all the kind words - they inspire me to do more crazy stuff.

Raziel: No, just regular crafts store fimo. The "tooth texture" is just by painting them with streaks.

A bit of progress on the wasps - the guy on the right needs a bit of correcting, I'm not satisfied with him, but overall I like them so far:

A lot of progress on the fly - first, how to make fly rotors:

Drainage pipe

2 x anti-hair grills (don't know the name) for said drainage pipe.

I cut the ends of the pipe on a lathe, and made two discs of plastic:

Dremel galore:

The discs were cut into rotors, and given the dremel and hobby knife treatment:

I turned two pointed rods on the lathe, and glued the rotors on:

And put everything together - the grills are used as an underside, with holes for the rods:

The idea is that the rider sort of interfaces with the daemon engine through his arms (which will be suitably greenstuffed) and the cable going into his back, matrix style. I like the tormented kind of posture he has, inspired by the old metal DE talos. It still needs lots more cables, tech bits, and two cannons on the sides, depending on which kind of armament the chaos flyer is going to have. Oh and the top cannon as well - I don't think I'll make it final until I know the weaponry.

Comment away. I'm really excited about this thing.

Truly, Truly Chaotic! really nicely done and executed! the manner which you integrated the pilot/driver is perfect! and I love the nod to the old Talos kit with the pose, it wouldn't be comfortable by any stretch which makes it more accurate for Chaos!

the other thing I love about this conversion is the drape of the legs on the 'fly' again you have done a spectacular job! and the blight drone type rotors are imaginative and will look brilliant when you paint this guy up!

thanks again for producing such amazing and creative work for us to enjoy!

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Yup, hate you. Love the models, they are all amazing. The fly is like a blight drone plus a storm talon times great imagination to the power of perfect execution. But you, and your ability to do said math, hate.

I kid, obviously. Amazing work.

...wow. Seriously nice work. I am very envious of your build skills. I can't wait to see the think painted. I really can't find anything to comment on beyond wow.

I think I may just steal that concept from you someday. When I'm not so in debt I can't afford a meal over plastic...

That is, without a doubt, THE best painted and modeled Chaos army that I've EVER seen! Fantastic work, keep the pics coming.

It is the 3rd Millennium. For more than a hundred months Games Workshop has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Nottingham. It is the foremost of wargames by the will of the neckbeards, and master of a million tabletops by the might of their inexhaustible wallets. It is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with business strategies from the early Industrial Revolution Age. It is the Carrion Lord of the wargaming scene for whom a thousand veteran players are sacrificed every day, so that it may never truly die. Yet even in its deathless state, GW continues its eternal vigilance. Mighty battleforce starter-sets cross the online-store-infested miasma of the internet, the only route between distant countries, their way lit by a draconian retail trade-agreement, the legal manifestation of the GW's will. Vast armies of lawyers give battle in GW's name on uncounted websites. Greatest amongst its soldiers are the Guardians of the IP, the Legal Team, bio-engineered super-donkey-caves. Their comrades in arms are legion: the writing team and countless untested rulebooks, the ever vigilant redshirts, and the writers of White Dwarf, to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat from other games, their own incompetence, Based Chinaman - and worse. To support Games Workshop in such times is to spend untold billions. It is to support the cruelest and most dickish company imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of sales discounts and Warhammer Fantasy Battle, for so much has been dropped, never to be re-published again. Forget the promise of cheaper digital content and caring about the fanbase, for in the GW HQ there is only profit-seeking, Space Marines and Sigmarines. There is no fun amongst the hobby shops, only an eternity of raging and spending, and the laughter of former employees who left GW to join better companies.

First of all, fantastic work But I feel a bit like a parrot, since that's what all the people are saying all the time in this thread

Concerning the weapons, I think it's quite a task to add something that doesn't detract from the kick-ass composition of your flyer. Personally, I'd attach the weapons to the left and right of the head, above the point where the legs connect. Somehow I feel that your best bet would be to go with something organic (maybe converted from Tyranid parts ?!) or at least some horrible fusion of tech and organic elements. What I would like to see would be some kind of "organic ammo feed", running from the fly's bloated backside to the weapons or something of the like, if that makes any sense.

If the rumoured new Chaos flyer does indeed turn out to be some goofy mecha-dragon, you've got quite the alternative on your hands there

Weaponswise, that thing would look sick with two big, meaty kheres-stlye chain guns slung under its belly. Maybe trailing long, slimy ammo trails behind it like a jellyfish, kindof?

Agree with this ^^^^ Also it couldnt hurt to have a look at some of the Gears of War creatures for ideas on weapon mounts. Things like the Reaver etc.

KrautScientist had mentioned organic, and I agree. It looks like there are a pair of unused limb sockets above and behind the dangling legs. Maybe attach them there?
