I wish the tyranid terrain had more of the spikey spiney capillary towers or whatever they are called, but otherwise thats great

I have to admit I really like the idea of the first bespoke tyrranid team being a strict 5-unit elite team.

KT: Typhon looks great. That terrain and the new NPO profiles will be a must-have for me. Would be great to have the terrain separately, but there's no guarantee that will happen, so I'll probably need to get this box

Mentioned on the stream it comes with a unit of hormagaunts I think?

The article says its only 5 operatives, with nothing backing them up.

The Tyranid half of the set is good, while the Ad-Mech on their own...two of those models should be useable in Blackstone Fortress? I don't have escalation but I only need to hunt down their character cards, while the servitor was in the 2019 Annual? Sod it, both teams are great for Five Parsecs and Stargrave.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Interesting to see some 3rd edition style creeping back into the Tyranid line with the much longer tails on those Raveners. None of them has a thorax weapon. I bet they have no options for them either. Probably no modeling options whatsoever.

Depends how many of those Ravenors are part of the core 40K set. They look quite big bits compared to the normal alt heads and arms for an upgrade sprue.

Definitely looks like there is the option for scything talons or rending claws, and wouldn't be completely surprised if the new unit got an option for 0-1 wrecker arms or venom spitters

It's one kit that builds 5 basic ravenor warriors or up to one each of the special versions

Yeah it'll ramp up the cost of the box dramatically I imagine though.

we already got new genestealer models a couple years ago

Automatically Appended Next Post:
anyway both of these are fantastic. definitely looking forward to both halves (in my mind, the servitor team is a secret 30k release)

I like the servitors. They're painted like Borg which makes me like them even more. Might get some for whatever use in my work-in-progress-Mechanicum army that gets used in OPR.

Stealers might get an NPO sheet though.. Really keen to know how many new NPO profiles will be in there, and will any of them have new "directives". Like, imagine a bunch of "Tough" brawlers which could charge while being concealed..

Honestly, most of the nid KT are a miss for me. But I like the basic warrior model. It’s just all the wacky add-ons to personalize them.

Might be time to add some more little death noodles to the swarm.

Love that we are getting servitors. I always want to see more AdMech.

Well yes my second reactions was 'Servitors!!!'.

Honestly I would have a 'build your own servitor' 3D print or plastic set. Especially non combat ones to use in scenery and necromunda.

I was saying more that this assumes that the Ravener 40K entry remains the same, and doesn't get updated like the CSM legionaries to include the new options.

Servitors could be better imho

Did they say if the terrain was in the box or separate?

That's a great looking set for both sides. Must buy just for the minis.

So do Gaunts come in the box too?

Yeah it comes with the horms & terrain.

I expect a similar price point to Hivestorm which was £140

Oh my! That box is going to be freaking massive! But then again not sure if I should get it or wait for the individual Rav team box so I can get 2x for the dual builds.

Where did it say there will be hormagaunts in the box? It’s a standard expansion box; two teams and themed terrain. Heck the article doesn’t even mention hormagaunts by name; it says the book will have NPO profiles for “Tyranid beasties” with nothing more specific.

Then talked about it on the show. Not sure if it made it into the text on any of the articles.

It didn't, but on the show they literally said "you might notice hormagaunts sneaking into the shots here, they are in the box for a reason but not part of the kill team" then showed the stock photo of 10 and a ripper base as part of the box contents.

"Not a part of the kill team" means they are just NPO models for use in Joint Ops?

Anyhoo, just a heads up regarding Blood & Zeal. Bits & Kits seems to have a limited stock of all the separate items in the box, act fast and you might be able to snag one of them statues. I got me the book after all, since it was only 20GBP, so my KT24 book streak remains intact, for now..

Not happy that GW *finally* after all these years produces some plastic servitors...and then makes them a KT so you'll only be able to buy them with a Techpriest + cardboard gubbinz tax. Even less happy that I like them enough I probably will pay it, at least once

Hopefully them being an official team inspires some third parties to engage in the sincerest form of flattery.

Probably something to do with the terrain spawning vats.

It's just terrain bro, it's unaligned
