Maybe get ready to have the removed characters re-introduced into Sisters of Battle.
Although probably not...

Different characters, these are almost certainly going to be a squad of preachers (chainsword and hand flamer) with some special weapons (flamer/plasma/melta + eviscerator) in them. Perhaps an invulnerable save as long as the Salvationist is alive.

I'd be curious if Confessor and deathcult assassins get their own datacards though.

Warhammer Community say that this box is the only place you will be able to get the mission pack for Blood and Zeal, so presumably that extends to the cards too.

I would say that there's no way GW doesn't make contents of one box = contents of one unit, but then the rules for the Starstriders in the Imperial Agents codex allow them to be used as a Rogue Trader retinue and Armsmen squad, so we can pray to the Emperor that it may be possible!

Unless it was on a warcom article and I missed it, I wonder if the priests will be for sisters, agents or both.

Is there anyone here who is buying these teams to actually play proper Kill Team? Oo

I have to say, I like the Khorneboys rules a lot. Fast, manoeuverable and aggressive, with a very cool menu of options that you need to actively fight for if you want to keep using it. Looks like plenty of interesting decision points with each activation and even each Counteraction.

Does it matter if they are or they aren't, Cyel? The purchases will mean that your game remains supported.

No I buy them just because some of those kits are great and packed with options. Just in for the miniatures really.

It's pretty crazy that GW hasn't shown off any of the alternate builds for any of the models beyond the non-specialist version of flamers akimbo appearing in a banner ad.

I wonder if it is to allow the hype for Kill Team to boost the box, so that primarily Kill Team players get the box. The alternative builds where a bunch of the fancy guys turn into preachers are more likely to appear with the 40K entry (assuming 'Eavy Metal painted more than one squad).

It matters in how much interesting discussion about the game we can have here

Outside of the Krieg/Kommandos set, the only teams that I've bought specifically for KT are the two Votaan teams & the Rattlings.
The Votaan were both bought back in the late fall specifically for KT24 - replacing my Tyranids (no currant rules) & my Tau (I lack the spare models to make the KT24 squad).
The Rattlings will arrive soon the FLGS says.
Brings my current KT inventory to:
*Rattlings - coming soon, specific team
*Votaan Yaeger's - specific team
*Votaan Salvagers - specific team
*Krieg - specific team
*Kommandos - specific team
*Legionaries - spare CSM/DG models
*Angels of Death - spare Marines
*Necrons - whatever their teams called, spare models

The past few years have seen a larger decline in presentation, seen especially in missing sprue pictures or 360°s when stuff goes up for preorder, as well as instances where it looks like GW just couldn't be bothered to show alternate builds as was the case with the Primaris Ancient. I don't think that has anything to do with incentivizing specific customer segments.

I've seen speculation that it's paranoia about third parties producing knockoffs before the initial release phase when GW supposedly makes the most money off a kit. Or that GW let go staff during the pandemic that they didn't replace and whose absence has had negative impact on the customers but not to GW's bottom line, so there's no incentive to fix it. Both sound plausibly like things GW would do.

This will be part of the reason why GW send out preview copies for new releases. Places like Goonhammer can post pictures of the sprues or alternative options in the kit and GW don't need to pay for 'Eavy Metal to spend days painting up a second squad or extra photography.

They're basically outsourcing some of their marketing quite cheaply, as promo models cost them next to nothing.

They don't need to paint a whole second version of every model (although clearly they do with some models when they don't strictly need to...) but it wouldn't kill them to just glue some models together to show them built, or have sprue images ready for the preorder periods.

It would probably be more beneficial to GW to draw customers to their own site, than to send them to third parties who don't necessarily actually show the optional builds anyway.

I think that one of the reasons for the lack of early 360 degree images and sprue pics is to do with GW not wanting to make it easier for people to scan and copy their minis, rather than laziness/cost cutting

Probably not, and that's why it is really annoying that they did not release the 40K rules before the preorders started. (And still haven't)

We know from a former studio painter that the lack of some 360s was because they only painted the front of the model for site pics.

I wonder if we'll get the full set of three for a narrative co-op mission. Reclamation pool to poison, this hive to sneak around and spore chimney/capillary tower to blow up (almost surprised they didn't put the sporocyst in as NPC terrain).

Well, the thing is Dakka ("here") seems to be an outlier, as everywhere else I look KT seems to be the bees knees. Here in Poland I don't know if we even still have players of big old WH40K at all anymore

Paint this in a different way and it would make for great Chaos terrain as well.

Sure.. just not KT24. It's your fault really, you turned me off to the new rules. I'm sticking to KT21 with JointOps rules added in
