I think the preview may have bene a bit late, just shoved out on a Saturday when it should have been on one of their bigger preview shows.

I've just seen a price list for €110 EUR, which is the same as Brutal & Cunning. That was £85 / ~$140 USD.

I won't lie $110 (about £70) seems like where I expected it to be, if it gets to £85 that's a rip off imo

I saw some site listing preorders for $143 and the separate teams as $65

Not sure who wants to pay that much for this boxset though

Something to keep in mind is that the statue (along with the wall sections to make the shrine) used to be one of those silly expensive terrain kits from after GW got really serious about hiking 40k terrain prices. It's likely to figure a great deal into the Kill Team box's price, even if the walls are missing.

I'd argue they severely misjudged its value in that case

The price effectively works out at paying full price for the two Kill Teams, then the terrain, cards, and little rulebook are 'free'.

Personally I'm going to try and find a Sisters player at my local club who wants the Imperial guys & statue, and see if I can get the Jakhals for under £30. Seems reasonable when the box will be under £70 from third party stores.

The issue with this is that the box being geared that way means it'll only ever "worth it" to someone who either wants both teams or is willing to split it out with someone. The terrain, missions and level of discount isn't worth it for me to take a punt on the box and just have a spare team I aren't bothered by.

As terrains go, at least for 40K the statue is not great piece game-wise. It doesn't do much. But of course if one likes the look it is nice.

The statue is the reason I'm likely to buy the box rather than waiting for the Zealots as a solo team.

I like the Khorne models, but don't really have a use for them. I suppose they can keep Karanak (Legends) and a pack of Hounds company. But I figure the statue was the identifying component of the Battle Sanctum, so I can use its Legend card as well. My sisters lean pretty hard into Saint Katherine, so it fits. Good piece of Narrative focused terrain.

That said, it does depend on price.

Yeah, the statue is a nice terrain piece. It's just a shame that it's only ever included in a fairly expensive bundle. Not necessarily a deal breaker, but it's certainly not helping.

I have the opposite issue- I wish that the diagonal walls and balcony bits were available in a kit that didnt include a big distinctive statue, at either a cheaper price or with an additional wall and/or floor sprue

It's 105€ on the list I have seen.

The statue would make for a nice large scale miniature painting project. As a terrain piece it's a bit naff IMHO, better suited to Epic scale like all the other 40K statues (except that SoB didnt exist during the Heresy)

New update on Blood and Zeal, seems a little strange that the cards are keyed into the missions rather than the teams but I guess we'll have to see how these actually play out (especially with the online rules rather than the cards themselves). Though to be honest we tended to find (at least with Season 1) that the narrative missions did work best with the teams with the teams that came in the box. Or at least seemed to just not work with 3APL teams if the box didn't come with one.

Sounds a bit like we might see less terrain in the future though, so if hypothetically the next season starts off with Tyranid terrain - sounds like the follow up set might come with a Carnifex or something instead as a Boss NPO rather than more terrain.

Yeah, I’m actually glad the cards are part of the Mission Pack. Means no crazy attempts to balance random card draw for one team against not having that for another.

Also interesting that both sides use both decks.

Part of me wants to immediately house rule the decks as only available to specific archetypes but I want to see them first.

Do the Volkus compound walls "play nice" with the 2022 Moroch stockades? Anyone ever tried to integrate them on the table, or seen a side-by-side comparison picture of them?

Not a fan of them cards. I've got enough complexity in the game as is, with all the Tac Ops, ploys and whatnot. I dont need even more cards to keep track of.

Feels like Space Hulk / Deathwing / Genestealer all over again. The core SH was awesome, Deathwind added nice things, but Genestealer just added way too much cards and stuff and all the fun was sucked out of the game.

IMHO

I'm not a fan of the cherub (though a darker paintjob should help) and the Blood Herald (it's not bad I guess, but I have other - not so obvious chaotic - plans with the other guys). Some people want the statue, and I'll give it to a fellow gamer for a moderate price - it's not something I need for Horus Heresy or Necromunda.

According to today's Warhammer Community article, each of the monk-robed specialists has a dual-build as a Preacher. Nice to have a little variety!

Personally, I'd have said the Confessor looks closer to the dude on the cover of Codex Sisters of Battle than to Kyrinov.

Do we know if they are getting 40k rules?

Are they agents or sisters units?

They are getting 40k rules (confirmed on Facebook), likely either next week or the week after.

The Imperial weirdos are considered to be Sisters units.

I got my hands on Kill Team: Blood and Zeal early, so here are high-res sprue images, all assembly options, and a look at the dossier in my review: https://taleofpainters.com/2025/03/review-kill-team-blood-and-zeal/

If Ministorum Priests hadn't already been reduced to just the options of the Blackstone Fortress models, I'd say get ready for only having the option of hand flamers going forward.

Maybe get ready to have the removed characters re-introduced into Sisters of Battle.
Although probably not...

Could also reintroduce preachers to the imperial guard if they wanted.

Anyway, you know how the “killzone” terrain gets released separately when the new combo box drops (like the terrain from brutal and cunning just went on preorder) - do we think the killzone set sold separately will include the blood/zeal card deck?
