newer Conversion:

In keeping with the re-theming of my force, and wanting to have some more practice at plasticard, I am in the process of making this:

Based on the MMS:

Which is itself based on the MIM-23 Hawk Missile Launcher System:

It's still not great, as I am still learning with plasticard, and there is a lot of work to do on it yet. I am intending to make a small one man tractor to pull it, hoping to stay as close to the footprint of the actual Manticore as possible.

Looks good. Nice and simple. hopefully the manticore sized base will let you do some neato scenery

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

this two are pretty simple on the raiders of Ellyrion inside The island of blood, add standard bearer and a musician

For standard bearer I've removed both arms and used a banner from the sea guard, the sword it's from wood elf

I've used the champion of the unit for the muscian, removed feathers on the elm and added a horn from skeletons of tomb kings

hope you like!

Here is a Techpriest I 'helped' my oldest son make for my younger son for Christmas. He plays vanilla marines but they have a wolf theme.Just gettign back in the game so to speak, my plastic card skills are not what they use to be but they are getting better. This is my favorite conversion right now.

Thanks a lot, Gunzhard!

The model was basically built as intended by GW, only the legs were repositioned to look like the model was floating above the ground instead of sitting astride a giant beast. Only minimal cutting was necessary for that, although I had to use some GS to sculpt a new...well, butt for the model The GS work was hidden behind a couple of accessories and the model's flowing cape, though. Apart from that (and a couple of minor additional bitz), it's really just the sorcerer from the Manticore kit.

They're as likely to fly as the original vehicles. The only thing that keeps them in the sky is the Orks' belief that they can fly.

Awesome work!

Wow, my first Dakka post. My favorite conversion that i have made is a set of Ork HQs I made for a friend. I call them the 3 gits, the red git, the blue git, and the poiple git. They are a big Mek, a warboss, and a wyrdboy, respectively. I'll try and get some pics for everyone soon. ''

Also, I have some Captains I really like, based off characters from a certain video game franchise. Again, I'll try to get pics up soon.

but i recently played an apoc game against a guy who has scratchbuilt a Thunderhawk and is in the process of building a Stormbird.

I was a bit cybical at first but having seen it i am impressed as it is an ambitious project, and when it's done it could look really good.

Plus it is HUGE

This is the only pic of one I know of. And since I assume they came in as many patterns as just about anything else the Imperium built, I think that the one in Praxis' post is as valid as anything.

besides, it looks cool, lol
