Joker, guards and "Ronald" goons are looking good. I think the Joker with the hat pic came out a bit blurry but that could be my eyes or screen. Ronald Joker looks the part when he is with the rest of his unit.

No apologies necessary. He looks fantastic with the group! I just thought your original paintjob was spot-on.

That Red Hood is gonna be a good one.

R. McD Joker works far too well. I lament the original paintjob, but it turned out very cool.

Ronald McJoker & Co are both hilarious and terrifying in equal measure.

I agree with Gits the old colour scheme was good as well, but I'm completely with you on re-painting him.

Huzzah!

Remember how I said I wasn't happy with my Sirens Harley paintjob? Yeah, sure you did. Well anyway, I came up with a solution...

Hamburglar Harley!
Bit of tidying required but essentially there.

Nice outfit

Now I just need a Grimace. I might try to get another Panda Guy. Or I could just gs and repaint mine.

Red hood is coming along:

Chopped off the Silencers. He doesn't have the Silencer rule, so why one earth does he have 'em? (Because that's what the guns look like in the Arkham game, but still, if that's the case he should have the bloody Silencer rule... /rant) If the head seems a bit hunkered down in the shoulders it's because it's very much the pose on a comic cover I'm aping, btw.

And the evil Flash of the Crime Syndicate, Johnny Quick:

I do like this new red method with wet blending VJ airs. I needed to anticipate Mechrite Red not existing anymore. Now if only there were solution to the impending Averland Sunset crisis. Speaking of which (ish), started Grodd and the gang.

Which means everything built and primed is now underway. The aim is to be clear of the current phase of the shelf of shame by end of March, which was an ambitious goal - 59 models (61 if you include repainting the new Joker and Harley!) - but nearly there, and that'll take me to 80 models painted this year so far. I doubt I'll exceed last year's total of 185, but I'm going to try. April brings some scenery, maybe, possibly Puppets War, more Walking Dead and other BMG/DCU. Speaking of which, eagerly waiting on collection of crud from Black Cat Bases. Fast food litter will really add to the Big MacAttackers.

I must thank you all once again for your support of that crazy idea. I posted them on the Fb group and I've never seen such a dementedly enthusiastic reaction. Proper humbled.

Till we meet again

Theophony wrote:The Robber McDonalds look great , how about a Titan joker for Grimace, and Harley’s Hyenas done up as the fry guys.

Thanks. I already did this with my titan Joker:

I may well do Bud and Lou in reference to the fry guys though. Red and yellow collars, at least.

Speaking of Grimace... A big lump of green, that's going to be purple:

The top of the stick will be a milkshake though I'm not sure whether to mount it vertically or horizontally. He counts-as Borgon, big fat hammer wielding thug. With that joker, Harley, the goons and Mr Fries, I mean Freeze, that's exactly 350 points! Must be a sign

Also, a bit more progress on the Grodd crew, not much as looking after poorly baby.

I used a layer of vj burnt sienna and I feel that really adds depth to the fur.

Royally hacked off with work, having to take a day's unpaid to look after little one - I don't mind that per se, but resent the guilt being piled on me.

cheers buddy.

And so...

I *loved* painting these. I was dreading it, but so glad I saved them till the end.

You may think you can outrun me. But you can't outthink me.

Grodd deserved a special base, so cheeky resin 40k base, just cos. Hey, multiverse, right?

Basing these was an interesting challenge, as I wanted them to be in-keeping with the rest of my BMG.

Just noticed a seam needs sealed on the young warrior's left shoulder (one without a weapon)

That's 59 models painted this month. Shelf of shame cleared! Woo!

Next up? Well, finished the Grimace and bases for the McCrew (waiting on bits). Bought a line scraper (actually went in a GW - the horror!), had a good blether with the manager who's an old mate (they now know not to ask me what I'm working on ), going to crack on with my Walking Dead. School holidays fast approaching, so I'm keen to get them to a workable place for playing with the kids. Planning on letting the boys paint up the Walkers as a wee holiday project. Because slave labour gets stuff done!

When I was painting them I did a bit of research first and it came up, actually.
AT-43, now that's a game I miss. So much potential.
Speaking, tangentially, of which, I see that Confrontation is returning. That was a dense game of goodies if ever there was.

So last bits and bobs.
Joker and Harley got some base scatter:

And... Grimace!

Better view of milkshake hammer:

All I need is some (victor) fries with that and it's a full crew

So that's 60 models in March, so far (not counting 2 repaints).

Never mind various terrain and the 40 or so critters from puppets war ... And any review stuff I get my grubby little mitts on >[
If I can get the 42 BMG and TWD done by the end of April I'll be thrilled. Should keep me busy

Other news, little one much better, boys flying through school (both ahead of their peers, especially in maths, precocious little sods, can't possibly be my children...)

Totally hacked off with work, but only a few days left till the end of term - phew!

Mental health seems more positive. Feeling generally brighter. Got a game of BMG planned for Tuesday. Using OWLS! Be some bird on bird action, versus Penguin. As ever, hobby is a stabilizing factor.

Cheers. I don't think that's really a fair comparison though, given the scale of modelling you do.

On the subject of projects, a mate has asked me to make him an Arkham Asylum courtyard, which seems like a fun challenge. I got a bunch of amazing crud from Skalk Bloodaxe so that's going to come in very handy. The biggest hurdle will be the entrance gate, but I'm sure I can come up with something.

Had a great game of BMG last night, ran the Court of Owls for the first time in 2nd ed, and first time with the new High Court Lady as Boss. They are scary fast as it is, and with extra sewers as their faction objective means have crazy mobility. Mr Freeze is a very difficult match-up for Court, however, as they're all Vulnerable to Cold (take extra damage if Frozen (movement reduction effect)) so I was very excited to try see how they worked. Didn't take many pics as phone was dying.
Court don't play like other factions as they are cheap boss, expensive goons, whilst Freeze is pretty standard apart from having Beam weapons (can't reload, but scary spray templates of icy doom); he also had Reverse Flash and Captain Cold in the mix.

I hung back for a couple of turns. Despite being very killy, it's about holding off until you can put in a burst of speed to get any stragglers, and setting up folk to jump out of sewers on anyone daft enough to walk past one. After two very uneventful turns, Mr Freeze made the mistake of stopping by sewer, and three Talons came for his head. They did then get a freezy blast from a Snowy goon, but the damage was done. There were some good toe-to-toe fights too:

Reverse Flash is very annoying and hard to kill Captain Cold did end up with a centre parting, however Good fun all round, anyway. My opponent also asked if I'd paint his Freeze crew up for him, so that's another nice wee side project.

Last week of term, thank feck. Had a violent incident with a pupil on Monday so that's cast a shadow over my week generally Such, unfortunately, is increasingly the nature of the job.

And, shelf of shame update for April:

I may have been working on a piece of scenery
And...

Batgirl's back! Well, front, but still

^ Very true.

I got an amazing pile of stuff from Skalk Bloodaxe, as mentioned.
And the loer have a War Effort contest on just now.
And a mate wants some sort of Arkham prison yard.
And it's his birthday the day the loer contest ends.
What could possibly go wrong?

The plastic yelled prison fence at me. Tidying one of the many overstuffed cupboards, found some crafting stuff, cardboard letters big and small. I saw a use for the D...

And with small crafting letters attached.

What better place to start a war?

Some pre-existing trees, walls and, y'know, asylum front.

Of course, prisons need a guardpost.
.
So I'm going to resurrect and fix this. It's made from cod bits, a beer drip tray, blister packaging and a smoothie lid. Never finished.

And maybe a watchtower, but I've not figured that out yet.

I love it when a plan comes together

Thanks, it's not on the scale of the likes of you or Cam but I do like a wee side project.

On we go.

Cake boards, boxes from mdf letters, sprue, scrap plastic, leftover bit of chimera ram, interesting bit of plastic on the roof, assorted card and me off-cuts, a 25mm base as hatch, mysterious brass 5.

Roof removable for access/playability.

Amazing what a spot of primer does.

Had a very good nerd moment the other day. Kids were having an Easter egg hunt at a friend's, and we were invited for the drinking. There was another couple there, in their 50s, whom we didn't know. During the egg hunt, the dad stopped, bent down and picking up a bit of hazel twig and declared, "That's an interesting bit of wood. Can I steal this?" Sign of a gamer if ever I saw one sure enough, he's a ww2 modeller and gamer. Led to some good chat and discussion of materials.

Another day, another coat, and with models for scale:

It's been a good Easter, all in all.
Chocolate, lasagne, justice league (not rubbish), a *lot* of alcohol, lamb, guardians of the galaxy 2 (again ), some nerdery...
Off this week with the boys. A couple of geeky days planned, should be fun X-Wing, DCU, all that jazz.
More on the asylum to follow, later y'all,
