Usually, by now in Michigan, its friggin cold, cold enough to hurt your face. LAtely though, its been weird and warm. There isnt any snow on the ground still. I think my lovely frozen state has lost its way

You must have sent it all here, I went out yesterday and it was so cold that my labret chilled all the way through and got so cold on the inside of my mouth that it was hurting my teeth. Madness. MADNESS.

Note: It's not that bad here in Ohio this year either... Strangely enough...

Two years ago, this time of the year, I was in Sweden (spending the witer there)... it was their coldes winter ever recorded.... For a week or so, we had temperatures below -30°C.... and I hadn't closed the window tightly one night.... I tell you, I did NOT get out from under my blankets the next morning!
Still, it was the best three months I ever had.

and the cold weather was not hindering my hobby.... I started it that winter, a friend introduced me.

I also know your pain - we haven't switched the heating on yet because we don't want to give the gas company any money. Its our money and we'll freeze if we want to. But it totally cramps ones painting style being cold.

Although down in cornwall its not so cold as we have a gulf stream.

I envy you people and your lovely cold weather. In Melbourne it was 40 degrees yesterday. 40 fething degrees. And last night it rained. So now its muggy as balls and still 28 degrees.
I mean there is only so many layers you can take off before you start having to walk round the house naked. At least when its cold you can just keep putting jumpers on.

Ha ha ha - worse to be too hot or too cold heh? We're just beginning to get COLD here in England... January/February are always the worst though... I can't really compare to all these though!

See thats how Michigan usually is, thanks to the Lake effect we get. But the last couple years it has been incredibly mild. And Ive got to say, its fething weird.





But uh, on topic here......where the hell are the pretty minis Iffy?!? I can talk about the weather with myself and a mirror!

Hey I understand what shortly means. I said a week ago I was going to post tutorial on how I paint rust....granted my camera blew up, but Ive had a replacement for going on 4 days now

I would gladly trade weather with you, Ifalna. Wisconsin has been all mild recently. Seriously, right now it is 48 F (7 C), but its supposed to hover between that and 62 F (17ish C).

Looking really good from what I've read! I really like the stripy nids, I don't have a steady enough hand for that sort of stuff.

Guys I'm sorry if I worried anyone, I've just had a really crazy month with a lot of stuff taking up all my time ( nothing bad bar getting the flu, that was not nice but it's all gone now ). Didn't mean to leave people hanging, I've just not had time to internet properly. Haven't updated Tumblr or my FB page in ages either, ack.

BUT, all that nonsense is now over and I have some updates

This guy, oh my god.. this guy.

Metals had to be redone twice due to the new washes ruining them as I was not used to their finish, Armor had to be redone once due to a complete cloudy wash drying in the recesses, but he is finally on track.

The shots don’t do justice as he is very very dark, and also rather reflective due to the paint used. That will totally change when he is given a matt varnish at the end and you will be able to really see how he looks in real life. Armor is a very, very, very dark brown blended up to blood red at the tips. There are indeed blend lines, they are just crazy subtle. he looks very dark, like old dried blood. It’s lovely. I’ve kept his colour choices super limited to really keep him looking dark and deadly. The cloak is a dirty white which will contrast both him and the Juggy.

Still lots of detailing work to go but he is really coming together now, I can’t wait to get him matt coated and get shots to his EXTREMELY PATIENT AND LOVELY OWNER. Seriously.




I'm going to take black background shots of him next so you can see the detail in his dark armor better, I am also really happy with the leather. I don't do drab and dark very well so this has been quite the exercise!


I also have this little guy, I have no idea what he is! I found him in my cabinet, we think he is a very old Libby as he has a Libby shoulder, but no hood! He is very cute though, and I picked away on him practicing my cartoony clean look while working on the Juggy rider as he is the total opposite.

The model is lumpy and old and it showed in the paintwork, but I still think he is very cute and will throw him up on Ebay. Someone might want him.
