HELLO FOLKS!

I have indeed been updating Facebook and not updating here, mostly because I've been doing a lot of posting from work and it somehow feels that bit easier to do a quick update on FB than it does a forum. I hate the idea of doing quick little one sentence updates on a blog as it looks a bit spammy I think!

I've been working away and have some fun shots!

Here is an update on Mr Khorne lord with the rider and mount together -




OH BLACK BACKGROUND, I MISSED YOU SO MUCH. You can really see the red colours on the black, still irritates me how white can make my reds look so poor :S

Still learning how to set the lightbox well and there is some glare here (neither has been matt coated), but I think the shots are lovely.

Still some work to go on both but you can really see the lovely dynamic between the bright glowing mount and dark sinister rider. Need to get their bone colours matching just like the bronzes, and FIX THAT DAMN KNEE STREAK.

I've also just about nearly completed this really nice Space Wolf fig who was meant to be to character standard but I went a bit crazy with. I need to fix his hair, shine his scope, finish his spaulder, and then shoot him again once his matt coat is fully dry

I have a semi naked space lady for Whalemusic who has her basic tones down, and a very hefty space wolf on his way too Fun times! Today I also did a google hangout chat with the awesome Jay Adan (a total role model) which was a huge amount of fun and we had a great time chatting about painting and an assortment of other geekery He could have waited for this till I got my hair cut and it was not a shocking mass of nonsense but noooooooo he wanted to do it now ¬_¬ Gawd.






I apparantly still have some PM's to get back to, including some important ones, so I will do my best to have them sent out by tonight! Being very busy again is making me feel great but also being a bit problematic for updates, I wish there was some way to update all my pages at the same time. That would be so awesome.

I believe you can combine Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook. Post on one, post on all. Dakka is the only one that gets neglected.

What an amazing interview.. it really was cool to see you talk about your work . I could listen to the irish accent all day if nothing else.

I'm looking for ways to do this right now but seems like I can only share from Tumblr to Facebook which isin't really what I'm after, I think the technical side of getting a post to look right across multiple formats might be the limitation here, doh!

Haha, I'm watching it back myself and I get almost worryingly animated when talking about painting.. but I did not swear a single time in that video. Not even a tiny swear. This is shocking and I will need to make up for lost time.

Also note I gave Weety a huge shout out but also insulted her at the same time which I am very proud of.

They look great!

They are indeed great, I can say with certainty they are the best donuts I have sampled in Ireland.

Then again we don't have a krispy kreme or any actual donut chain here so that might not be saying a lot :( The owner of the store is a pastry chef and hopes to have his own bakery up and running relatively soon so he can make super interesting filled donuts too, will be great

The stuff he does make mine look like they were made by a child.

If I could get them shipped here, I would love to

Jay Adan! He is an incredible mini painter who owns and runs his own hobby store, his work is really excellent and you should do a google for some of his mini's I don't think he is active on Dakka but is a big presence on Tumblr

It was mostly just drybrushing this time, his cloak sculpt was very bad, it looks kind of just like someone stuck a toothpick over and over into the clay, not great to work with. The fur on the front was infinitely better :(

No but in fairness, Ireland is a lovely place to visit as long as you do avoid the areas you are most likely to be stabbed and keep to the nicer cities.

They are all fantastic but exceptionally time intensive to make I get a bit crazy when it comes to being very precise with the melted white chocolate striping and swirls.

Everything is grey and dreary in the Emerald Isles. It's a FACT.
