Cells are looking great!

As for the eyes, I find the opposite to be true: while their irises may be very dark, the whites of their eyes contrasts a lot more, so doing the eyes the regular way (unless you plan to paint coloured irises on all of them?), should work out fine. I think

Hah sorry for my impatience

I reckon for the eyes if you put a tiny dot of white in the corner of each eye it will be enough? shouldn't take too long but should do the job.

I will try to do the eyes maybe tomorrow. I am not great with eyes though so if it looks crap they are staying dark brown.

Ok guys I have not done much today as I have been at a tank show watching tanks and playing with Barret sniper rifles

I have however built a funky officer with twin plasma pistols and today some anvil industries "melta guns" arrived despite only being ordered yesterday. I love those guys

Right here is the officer.

I thought he would be funny and not a bad way of getting extra suicide from plasma suicide command units lol.

Heres the melta.

I really like these things and they are dirt cheap to. If you order 10 its like 90p each

Ow and something you might like on the desert theme. Here is my airsoft demolitions loadout for some games coming up where there will be a dedicated explosives class. As I have a big 6 barrel launcher I thought I should really fill the roll.

Not that I like blowing things up or anything

CC as always guys

All the models are looking good, especially the last one . Out of curiosity and since I'm no airstoft expert: I'm assuming that that grenade launcher doesn't shoot the little BB's, or does it?

There are options for the grenade launcher. For the main part you load it with shell. Each shell holds a number of bbs. Mine hold about 100. They are charged with gas or co2 and it fires them sort of like a shot gun.
More recently there has been the invention of smoke grenades a bang grenades that fire a soft shell out of the launcher max range about 70 meters. the smoke makes a smoke screen of cause and the bang makes an explosion on impact.

I have never used these though I dont even know if they are out yet and I think in the UK you be hard pressed to be allowed them in game for health and safty reason.

I have not done much more guard today. I have built another meltagunner but I am painting a commission riptide for some one. Even though he only wants me to build it and do its base colour its still a big model.

ITS DONE, THE ERADICATOR IS DONE!

Just had to get that out of my system.

I believe this to be the best model I have ever painted and it shall take pride of place in my folder of models to try and persuade people to give me commissions

Anyway I will let you judge.

What do you think?

Really nice man. I must say, even though you will want to punch me through the computer, that dog makes it, but putting the dog aside, you did a great job on the weathering, it's just right.

Sounds cool, thanks for the extra info

Asd for the eradicator: I love how you painte dit, very 40k-ish, and I love the purple scorch marks! Just one minor gripe though: there's a seam running alongside the cannon (it shows really hard on the second pic). I usually toss on some greenstuff, then file it down. If you want to do commissions, that kind of stuff might make all the difference!

You are right about the line on the gun mate. That particular weapon is an arse to hide it on.

I will start a Chimera later but for now I am currently trying to get my first video blog uploaded for you. It should be done soon. Its just a test for the camera really and to see how much of a tit I sound.

I have done a couple more of the desert guard though and I have tried to give them some simple white eyes as suggested. What do you guys think?

Also I would like to note that these guys were base coated with my new airbrush That will speed the army along quite a bit it also means that as I learnt to use it I might be able to do some funky lighting ect. It will also help with my commissions.

On that note I would like to invite all of you to check out and like my new facebook page. First Strike Wargaming and painting studio is going to be my front for my online blogs, commission painting and it is where I will host my videos until I decide it is time to move onto youtube and get my own website.

https://www.facebook.com/FirstStrikeWargaming?ref=hl

Please pop over and say hi. Also forgive the fact that it is a bit empty at the minute. I need to get some graphics set up and of course more updates

eyes need pupils IMO, but models look great otherwise!

I had a funny feeling that would come up and I agree. I have a problem getting my eyes to work to that point lol. I will see what I can do. In the mean time have a link to my first video which is about the Eradicator.

I might also finish another guardsman tonight but I feel pretty beat so we shall see.

I know the feeling . My advice? Whites stripe, vertical line for the pupil, touch up around the eye so the line becomes a dot

Thanks guys. I am glad you think the eyes are ok.

Right I have a pretty big commission coming up that I will nbeed to use my airbrush for. So today I got my self some xp by digging out an Arvus lighter I brought years ago but never paint.

I have decided to paint it as a medical shuttle as its pointless in an army. That waay it can be used in funky mission

So I have done it base coat of white and I am very pleased so far. What do you think?

I dont think thats bad for a first attempt at a proper base coat

CC?

Right guys. I have been doing some more work on the Arvus today. Added a few colour bits started on the engines and started the weathering.

Any CC at all?

I want to get this done by Wednesday. Should not be a problem.

Arvus is looking great! I'm pretty jealous of you airbrush guys, especially for basecoating (and doubly for white basecoating! )

Weathering is looking good, and the red panels do a lot to say "Med Transport", but what about adding some apothecary symbols? I think it's pretty universal in the IoM as the IG medics also have it.

I just took a quick snap of the Arvus progress.

I like the idea of the medical symbol but I suck at freehand so do not know how to go about doing it?

Dude, after all the stuff you've put on on this thread so far i'm having a real hard time believing that.

but you could always make a stencil and airbrush it there

the tank came out really great! also the arvus is coming together real nice! but there's something about the exhaust weathering that doesn't look right to me.
i can't really put my finger on it tho.. but maybe it's becouse the sootmarks are so thin. i would say atleast double the width.

I was thinking the same thing about the burn down the side.

I am a bit crap with stuff like the icon. Any ideas how to go about making one? It would be another thing I could tick of my list of learn how to

Nice, nice lander. Really clever making it a medical aircraft. That thing is a cool model but doesn't really fit game wise.

I don't think the Arvus fits any where other than displays or special scenarios (escape the planet such as in the WD medusa 5 battle report)

Awesome model however I love the damage work on it though, great job

Thanks .

No new guard pics for you today but I have just started doing some Tau which can be used as allies until I get an army done.

Very bright in contrast to my marines and guard. This is the very basic get on the board level paint job and a test basically. So any suggestions would be taken

Sorry about the lack of updates chaps. I have really not been in the mood to paint.

However I remembered that in a month the double tournament is coming up so I need to finish the fort. So here is the second bunker section done to a usable standard.

I just need to finish the main tower now. Also note I will add more detail at a later date.

Hope you like it.
