Yes I think I will try that. So the Ammo barrel will be under the elbow.

Got more of the chain fist done.

And finally finished the barrels of the Dreadlords auto cannon.

Thought I'd see what the Forgefiend would look like on the Defiler legs.

Nice set of modifications. Although I am not sure on the defiler legs for the forgefiend, I feel that they are a bit too short for the whole model to get a bipedal look. More like he is kicking with his front limbs. Maybe shortening the neck would help ?

Just my opinion after seeing two pictures anyway, I trust you to build one more awesome killing machine.

Yes I think the neck is too long. Also I think I need to build the legs from scratch to fit in with the model. Could take a while. I have ordered some other legs from a different model but they might be way to small!!

Man that fiend is looking really cool. Outrageous Godzilla Chaos Monster. Love it. Maybe a mech tail from the defiler legs, like maybe from metal to rat or lizard tail then back to metal or something, that would keep the legs from looking like a kicking mule, which I don't really thing they do anyway, but would add balance to the overall bulk. Idk, you've got it so I'll just keep my mouth shut and enjoy the build progress. Keep them coming

Yes Mucho, I thought maybe a T-rex stance might work, and a bigger tail would have to be used to balance it out. Used small one here.

Ooh, yeah that stance works nicely, I concur on the need for a bigger tail, but definitely has a chaos TRex vibe. And this way you can keep the long neck.

Hrm. Could you make Chaos-Star Godzilla spines for it?

Thanks I will see if I can mock up some legs tonight. Gona have to make some pistons then GS muscle over the top to match the rest of the model

The spiny plates Godzilla has on his back, right? But instead of just generic spikey plates, they've got the Chaos Star-style arrows as the 'spines' and the circly bit as the plate.

So Chaos symbols all down his back?

Had a go at adding magnets today.

Which made it easier to try different poses without any bluetac.

Yeah, like, sticking sideways out of it- with the largest ones right at his shoulders, then getting progressively smaller.

You know what a stegosaurus looks like, right?

Ok I get it now.

Thought I'd have more time today to do the tail. The Heldrake back seems to be what I want, but need to cut the sections out, and realign to follow the curve of the back. Maybe be even cut the lower 2 plates out of the fiend, Hopefully tonight can try that.

I started painting the Deff Dreads leg on the base, so I can finally try my river base idea.

Major mistake though. I made very little effort to dust it off after 3 years, so paint not very smooth.

Now I can slowly add the water effect.

Makes it more realistic. Do you think Orks would bother cleaning things off before painting them?

This week I have been building up the water on the deffdread base.

It leaked the first few times. Again I've rushed it, so don't know what the edges will be like. I've done it in layers and added a wash near the foot as it disturbed the river bed.

Thanks evildrcheese, final layer of water done ready for splash and ripple effects tomorrow. My camera is packed away somewhere, when I move again next month I hope I can take better photos.

The still water effect stuck to the tin foil really well. So I had to cut it out. Also I didn't take enough care when wrapping the foil around, so it's all over the place. Here's a closer look.

Can you make a new side and fill up the gaps with more/would that work?

Sand it smaller. Make it look like the ledge/lip is intentional. Since you're having that ' barrier of imagination' there anyways, where the person looking is expected to just continue the decoration in their mind's eye and ignore the base, it doesn't matter too much the way that the decoration relates to the base, as long as the base doesn't overpower the decor.

I think it will leave an odd line. I want to add rapids anyway. So some well placed rocks and extra rapid effects in those areas. We will see.

Weathering effects going on.

Wow over a year since I've done anything. Now I've finally got my own room to set everything up in, I've started unpacking everything. Although I haven't found any tools yet, I have just gone and bought a load of bitz, and tried stuff on the forgefiend standing tall thingy.

I really intend to keep up modeling again. Looking through DakkaDakka is a real inspiration. Love it.
