Despite having a terrible terrible day, (I had to put down my 16 year old cat Valdez) I managed to get some painting done on my Tiger Claws. It was a nice distraction.

They are pretty much done. After looking at the blown up close up of my guys I see a couple minor things that need fixing. What do you guys think?

Great work as always, Ice.

And sorry about your cat. I know how it feels to have to put a pet down.

I'm sorry to hear about your cat. You have my deepest sympathies.

The marines are looking great. Should be a blast at Adepticon.

My sympathies Ice... done that myself, no fun at all. Tiger Claws look great through, no worries.

Very sorry to hear about your cat, Ice. I know how hard that is.

The marines look great. I like how the one marine is looking over at the other: "Fritz, drop that helmet already!"

So sad! 16 is a good life for a cat. Sympathies my friend!

They look great. I like the color breakup of the weapons, especially how it make the ML look like serious hardware.

Thou not a contest .. I think the picture caption YB just started is now in full swing... My entrys...

" Fritz...Quit codex shopping and get in the game" or

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the kind words both in regards to my cat and my models.

I don't have any more pictures today but it was warm enough today to get some priming done. Expect some color down on models this weekend. I think I'll be attacking the last three tactical marines first.

Any one else have amusing captions for my previous picture?

Yep. I found that the SW codex was the closest to My Red Corsairs play style. When I was Chaos I didn't use any mutations, deamons, or even marks! As you can see from my sig that didn't work out too well. SW was the easiest fix. They come with the same 3 weapons as a Chaos marine. Also being able to pick and choose gear made an easy Huron (Wolf Lord). As for Fluff The Red Corsairs Captured the Wolf of Fernis. Some of the SW turned and aided Huron. It is also not too far of a stretch that Huron used the SW geenseed to make more wolves... Huron's Wolves!

And that what I call them "Huron's Wolves"

Now with the New Chaos Codex I'd like to try them again. I have bought the Dark Vengence set. So instead of converting the SW back to chaos I will have two Red Corsairs armies. Plus the cultists would be perfect remanence of the Badab PDFs "Tyrants Dogboys"

i still have to buy that codex or play a 6th ed. game for that matter.

I've always loved the old Astral claws pattern, I've been wanting to do that army as well. Thats why I love yours! I dont think I could do them the justice that you accomplished. Cant wait to see more.

My condolences concerning your cat. I couldn't imagine losing the kitten I own, especially after owning it for sixteen years.

I love the Flamer marine and the black lines are stellar. The squad looks superb.

Stormsung, thank you for your kind words. It was very tough, but luckily we were fortunate to have such a phenomenal cat with sixteen years of fantastic memories to look back on. I'll probably never own another cat capable of so much affection yet still able to stare down 100 pound dogs and make them whimper. (true story)

Solar, I think I may have an idea where you are going with that. I may have a surprise in store for you, but I'm not posting any pictures until I feel they are worthy. Progress is being made, don't you worry.

Ramos that shoulder pad is from Chapterhouse. I have made several purchases from them and always enjoyed their products. If you look at my various Tiger Claw marines you'll come across all sorts of Chapterhouse pads and helms strewn about. I also have an Ice Angel with one of their twin bladed lightning claws. Good stuff!

Great looking marines. Those highlights yet again, came off lovely.

Speaking of Chapterhouse, I was curious as to their Hammer of Dorn shoulder. You think it'd be worth it for my killteam?

I've purchased from them in the past, I have a beautiful chapterhouse extension kit. I mean, it's only a dollar for the shoulder so...

I think its worth it. If you are really into the raised shoulder pads with icons and such, I'd go for it. Grab some other ones as well. I have used their exorcist and salamander pads in addition to the non-chapter affiliated pads and been happy with all of them.

More progress on one of the tactical marines. I think he is coming along nicely but there is still much to do. I should be able to finish him soon then move onto the others. One of which already received his next coat but the third is still a lovely brown.
