Your armored car is looking good. I'm envious of your scratchbuilding skills. I wish I could just whip up whatever vehicle I needed.

Were those your first Mad Robot figures? They're really nice, aren't they?

I have to get to some serious paint work on about 100 Defiance UAMC troops waiting on paint before I paint the CDF guys, although, I may paint 2 squads of UAMC and one of the CDF as they both will have almost identical color schemes under the Uniform Directives of the K.U.U.R. Military service adjunct 2564/Z/B-39c

As they are elite, the CDF will also have the splinter camo as the Kruegerians and all other veteran units, the UAMC get the base green armor as so few see veteran status.

It is weird isn't it? I looked at the images of the BRDM-2 and whipped this up, imagine what I could do with a scrapyard?

Yes, my very first MR order, and now am also likely to flesh a whole platoon with command team and commandos from it all. Plus other units as he has enough I can make several other republics worth come to life.

Undercarriage being worked on, the mini-wheels will have to have a extender arm and a part that looks like a chain drive added with them.

That is looking spot on and working wheels looking good I was looking at my old dragon models and it is pretty dam close to the general shape and details

Well I don't know what your disability is but sure as hell does not hinder your building skills

I have such a stockpile of MRM miniatures that if you want any pics or comparison pics let me know

Well, as it is a big one, about chimera sized, I did make it have a troop exit ramp with 2 water jet sliding close panels, whereas the real BRDM-2 does not carry troops normally, and has a large single water jet or propeller in the central spot where the ramp is.

I have several, inter-related conditions that make it impossible to stand behind a counter, Pain hits in 5mins, the heart and other conditions makes endurance based jobs not possible, and the bloodclot in the left arm makes me a candidate to drop over dead on a call center floor, so at age 50 with many more issues all lumped together(I am apparently favored a lot by Papa-Nurgle), no one wants to hire me once I ace the online stuff and they see me limping in on a cane, say they went with a "More qualified candidate" which is a code for "Healthier Candidate" for the position. In my state, the jobs are retail sales, maybe some few call center jobs, and coal mining.

Would be cool to see what MRM minis you picked up LDD

Well that's a gak deal you got there you could do with a job working from home by the sounds of it ....... mind you we could all do with one of those

As of the size did not realise it was that large I see your reasoning behind it though.

Well if I showed you what MRM minis I had it would basically be his current catalogue LOL

No literally one group of everything from Kurgans to Jovians and everything else in between, I am working on the bearskins at the moment well trying to figure out the layout at least.

If there is something in particular let me know, though they are all in an unmade state present at the moment

Yeah, looked at work from home, or a start up, bad location out in the boonies, no phone lines up this hill, and I would be relying on shipping things too much on my roommate to drive me to a parcel shipping spot.

Well, seeing how well the CDF went, I can only figure the others also work out well. Sounds like you have soldiers to assemble!

As for the scale, I will show that soon, for now here is work done on the other details of the armored car 4 x 4 x 4(the 4 miniwheels have yet to be added. Mark-IV exhausts with Zinge air vents which of course are set t lock up in case of ABC hazards
[/img]
[/img]

Hand hold, side armor, and Radio-Heavy Bolter man hatch
[/img]
[/img]

Driver side hand-holds and hatch
[/img]
[/img]
Front view showing the forward hatches as well as where the driver windshield/armor plate goes
[/img]

Sealing under belly front skid plate as well as rear under works
[/img]

Now for a scale shot series with a Chimera for a sense of the size, also happens to be taller than the Chimera
[/img]

It is also longer than the Chimera, but thinner
[/img]
[/img]

It's ramp is as big as the door on the ramp of the Chimera, all elements for a max of 10 men and no chance for Ogryns to transport, unless it is merely 3 Jovian-Hammer type Ogryns.
[/img]
[/img]

It can almost hide the Chimera behind itself
[img]

At this placement and angle, the BRDM looks about equal in height to the Chimera
[/img]

But here, it reinforces it's height over the Chimera

That's a neat vehicle sir. Looks squat and defensive, good and tough. Seems like a lot of scale tank kits are narrower and longer than the chimera so it seems like this new beast is in a good place.

Thank you!

The vehicle is a recon/patrol/mobile rifle unit transport. Heavy Bolter in the bow for what that can do, and the twin-linked Multi-melta for dealing blows to enemy armor or heavy troops.

Oh yeah I just noticed the TLMM, should make it relatively versatile in the field, which it would need to be if it's advance scouting for the army.

And transporting an elite unit along makes it more versatile!

Well, that too I always liked the idea of having small advance/scout parties fight it out in an attempt to win an advantage for their main force. I guess you could do that with kill team or something.

Well, Kill team normally does not allow vehicles, but other games for skirmishes I do have, and they are no problem with patrols with their vehicles duking it out!

Shas, theres a few deep scratch marks on the hull, are you going to sand them out or leave them? I ask because if you get some nice quality sand paper you should get them out in no time!

ITs looking really good though I have to admit!

It is about the size I thought it was although never considered the length longer than a Chimera but only just, I like the addition of vents and exhausts enforcing the style and adding a bit of 40k necessity

Well that makes working from home awkward and limits your options, I was wondering if call centres offer opportunities of working from home like BT do here ?

That way all you we need is your internet access, phone line and a room to work from, is there nothing like that it would remove the need for ect phone lines or delivery traveling.

Yes need to build some troops, vehicles, monsters, dwarfs , gangers , traitor guard , ganger vehicles , mutants ..........

VERY ice job there sir! My thoughts regarding the wheels initially looking to small have been proven to be false... as, now with the superstructure added, I think they look great! I know its only a small detail but those really small handles on the top hatches are a great detail!!

As my father once said to me : You cant polish a turd... but you can roll it in glitter!

Having already rubbed and and scraped, I will only remove the glue prints, the gouges can be covered, or used for "damage" with a metal/rust combo on them!

Yep, could not just go straight Soviet era BRDM, so had to work it 40k style.

Get cracking on those projects!

I had to have those tiniest of handles on the crew hatches, it felt the right thing to add to the project. Hey the wheels are also not that small, 23mm ones from Zinge, I got the bigger ones that are bigger than the bases for the BTR-60 inspired 8 x 8 concept I have in my head.

Well, it too will be amphibious, and somewhat based off this:

Good work on the amphibi-tank. Shaping up well.

A thought just struck me for the painting, While you like your tanks muddy, you could do this one with a high-water mark with most of the mud washed off below a certain level.

And you could do that by applying the mud as normal and then taking a clean, wet brush (before the paint dries) and "washing" it off. That would leave it in the naturally hard to reach areas and add realistic streaks etc...

Thanks Doc!

I was contemplating that, I also know some river banks are a bugger to get over, and also quite soft and muddy, so the very bottom may still yet be dirty, I will have to consult the images of the things.

Hey LDD, all I care about is that I now have a new retro-grade tech looking APC for a decent price to grab as the dollar-to-Euro rate is closer than dollar to pound rate, so thanks for that tip, in Monkey's thread, LOL!

Well, as the Death-Claws are allegedly mutated Jackson's Chameleons, and they have a variety of colors, anything goes!
