I'd agree with you summary, but I just can't hep myself from starting new projects... I think I have an aversion to completed models

Pibber boat for the finish it's off the cuff and away from the normal 40k scratch builds so do that.

You call that a box o' shame? Ha! Now, I had a box o' shame once, full of incomplete vehicles. Then I transferred the contents to a sterilite container. No more box o' shame. Problem solved. Temporarily anyways....
Pick one project, the one closest to completion. Work steadily on that. The taurox conversion looks fairly close to done.

I's either say a new, quick project just to restart the engines (maybe a base for one of those, a plank pier for the boat, maybe?), or, failing that and seconding whalemusic, the closest to being done, just to get that finishing feeling!
Even as those are right now, they look great!

Cheers for the comments folks, looks like the Pibber wins the referendum... (note: results of public referendums are not legally binding...)
Seriously though, when I get back in the groove, I shall attempt to resurrect the pibber build... have some ideas for it, may also order some bitz to complement the model and give the desired 40k Catachan feel...
Warning though, I'm away on business for the next week and a bit, so won't get a chance to do anything, then I'm away again for much of August so planning to do something in between trips... watch this space...

As the title says... Back in business... So........ tl/dr; got the urge to get back to some plastic crack after the annual pilgrimage to Salute. Purchased some stuff from Zinge Industries, including the road wheels I need for the Tauros 6x6 and had a test fit... Next will be to work on the axles so that they don't resemble a plastic rod !

Amazing how easy it is to improve the look of the Taurox... The base model does very little for me, but there's a million things you can do with it. Nice work!

Cheers chaps - yep, the base model is a real fugly piece, but it's absolutely calling out for conversions (or looting if you're an Ork) - like most 40k kits really. Think i mentioned this,but mine will eventually be teamed up with a group of the Anvil Afterlife Unity marines as an Arbite / Police type of squad

Thanks all @Red - I think i need to take a leaf out of the sewing community and use a metal thimble !! Grannies know best... My only issue so far is the spacing between the rear wheels - maybe they should be closer - or I could even squeeze another set of tyres in? Would need to extend the rear by a further 15mm though. Hmmmmm. Had to pop out today for supplies - had run out of poly cement... Was shocked by how small the modelling section was in the local Hobbycraft - was shocked to see they had sublet half of the upper mezzanine to a clothes retailer - crazy times. Although I guess that could be the effects of e-tailers now? I need to find another bricks and mortar supplier for these kind of instant need purchases I think.. (Disclaimer - i'm sure it's not only Grannies who sew - i'm just guilty of stereotyping...) Automatically Appended Next Post: And an update...
Cut off the front mudguards / fenders to raise them and allow the font wheels a similar gap to the rear (this is how I injured m finger last night !)

Additional "looks great so far" comment. I feel like the front axle needs a little more detail, though. And I recognize that this model is still very much work in progress.

Agreed - I'm planning some form of suspension ine each of the axles to give it a more 'sturdy' look - something like this;

Much better! If I ever did one, I'd consider removing them altogether and making proper wheel-wells out of plasticard. Distacne between the wheels on the back looks Ok to me.
If you can find Arakasi's old thread on da dark angelz: he did a brilliant supsension for his ork trukks, that might serve as inspiration?
