The other kids break them out of spite/jealousy or what?

well... that is all wrapped in mystery... if you werent there it is all guesswork... the first day i was rather pissed... then i got a bit my feathers down and started to ask questions... could be everything... dunno why my son (felix/aka han) gave his blaster into the hands of some "friend"... but in the end it was shredded so to say... if i give my best it will be a nice deiplay piece again tho... it can be saved!... but yeah... other kids can be quite monsters if they see someone with better stuff around...

oskar on the other hand fought the living daylight out of his oponents wooden sword... but...well plastic is no match against wood...next time he gets a wooden lightsaber! thats for sure...of course... if i could get some real lightsaber crystals... now there would be some fierce smashing soon^^

I suppose if you wanted to make something sturdy, all out of wood and held together with wood-glue? Then again if you make it too too sturdy they might end up throwing them at each other and end up at the hospital... (recalling the shenanigans my brothers and I got up to when we were kids..) It's better that the toys break rather than the kids themselves

When I was a kid we beat each other with sticks all the time and I turned out just fine!

i can see where you´re coming from meade...tho i am rather biased when i am talking about my kids.... better brused and battered kids from strangers than mine... ...

and dave.... yeah... we used to do that too.... tho... this almost sounds like we are old farts sitting in the sunshine on an old parkbank...

I had many a days where my costume with weapons included were broken/destroyed. One halloween couple of kids try to jump me for my candy. Sadly i had a fully loaded, automatic AEG airsoft gun on my costume. Yay being a trooper in the grim dark future. Krieg would be proud, i unloaded around 2000 rounds into their faces. Apparently they were friends of my brothers, he said they had really screwed up skin on their face(the next day). The gun was later kid napped by a really big kid in his twenties (i was about 13?) and the kid smashed up the gun. *sigh* these things happen.

envy and nastyness on such holidays is a really bugger.... either i had more luck than i was awere of back in my time...or i had always such uninteristing comstumes that i wasn´t in any danger... having an airsoft gun taken away from me by such a youngster... i would have gone spare ...

yup... beside... where were your parents? couldn´t they have been doing something about that guy that took your gun from you? that´s theft for sure...

Vik this is why toys and cool stuff is not for kids LOL They look ace you both did a great job on the costumes and weapons and the holster deserves a replacement blaster

Well at least they enjoyed the weapons before their fate The Las gun is coming on nicely some cool detailing being added as well, although all that PC has given me snow blindness

Nice, Vik. Super impressed with the lasrifle. And I apologise for dumping the E-11 on your plate. At some stage I'll dig out my E-11 and see about doing some more work to it...

As for your disaster with the kids 'toys', man that's not good. Hopefully Karma will drop a big can of whoop ass on the kid who broke the blaster - the saber getting smashed is to be expected I guess, I know my boy has broken a few plastic swords in his time, luckily his saber is still in one piece - one he made at Disney World and he loves it too much to try and break his freinds heads with...

My parents where not attending because i was out with my friends! Haha, eh i was a proper fat kid back in the day, easy looking target for stupid pranks and the sort. In the end i was too scared to actually stand up to the big old dude, i was more or less impressed i even stood up to the kids. Felt great, and made me turn my life around away from the computer and into the physical world. Definitely a moment i was never upset about and was many years ago.

Anyways enough highjacking! i was just giving insight into a possible lost of such epic toys Vik made! I wish you would make me a costume sir, i also get out of steam in mine.

Likely had they been store bought the jealous kids would have smashed them as well. People start as little psychos(kids) most usually get over it, or become adult psychos.

Check this link out, http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/kickstarter%20basics hopefully answers most questions, but as I understand it, you pledge whatever you feel you can afford - if the goal value is reached by all pledges then the project gets funded, and the money passes on to the project team to pay for the production costs etc... you then get your pledge rewards and any stretch goals. If the goal isn't reached, then the pledges are refunded to the backers.

There is some risk I guess in this, but you do your research and take a punt if you think it's worthy. Westwind have been around for a few years so I'd say that this is pretty genuine IMHO.

Coming along nicely, Vik! I must have missed the memo: is this a display piece or a costume piece? I just ask because the biggest challenge I see so far is the grip: not so ergonomic Also, have you thought about wrapping with cord or wire? That would give you good texture without having to grab onto those plastic chunks.

Mind you don't dwell on broken toys to much Vik they might work as nice scenery plus it gives you a new project ………….. Like you need one plus the kids had fun so its all good

Lucky dog! I wish I had had enough left to have gotten me some of those lovely Dreamforge models, I guess I will have to wit till they are for sale through FLGS' So many things have my attention I want and can't get including Warzone stuff being remade!

Could you describe hoarder for me as I am starting to think you might be right

I have the second large bedroom full of stuff and most of loft full of old military kits and miniatures.

To be honest I cant get past the door at the moment and stuff seems to fall from time to time, so I guess the answer would be yes

iv'e finally purchased a new computer so now i won't have to check everything from my Iphone

Life sized lasgun? very cool Vik, and you can never go wrong with hans blaster.. just the other day I had an arguement with my father its a shame he thinks luke is vastly superior to han... not even close in my books
