Also...do you think the thin pc would suffice for detail icons or rather the thicker stuff?

Yeah! absolutely! at this scale, layers of thin almost always look better than thick.
Just remember layers and basic shapes, you'll figure it out.

That's true craftsmanship there dave. You don't see modern buildings with that anymore. everything is glass and steel.

Yep! You're going to Manhattan soon. When I was there, I sat on a bench on the North side of Central Park and just oogled at that stuff.

To think that such a time existed, when people valued craftsmanship and payed for it....

They waited too. Now it is stamp it out fast, and no extra work, plain smooth and characterless glass panels and steel frames very bland, very plain.

I live in a city where such stuff is everywhere and you know what? Most of it is cheap, ugly rubbish 'coz people back then where just as they are today - they needed more buildings, more space to live and fast=\ And when it's all around you it gets pretty tiresome and you start to appreciate the simplicity of modern architecture =) It's style is harder to ruin by poor craftsmanship.

hmm.... well berlin still maintains a lot of this style of buildings...and i am glad to even live in one... not to be recognized from the outside though... but the buildingsstructure is still that way... highwalled rooms... that really is something i didn´t want to live without anymore... sure insulation is crap... we have sometimes ice in winter at our windows and such stuff... but it is way better than those small beehive apartments you nowadays have to live in...

well...it is a riveteers thread after all...so there should be some riveting...eh? what do you say?

well....my workspace has found quite some updates taking place... you could call it a workbench...

also... it is pretty high...i am mostly standing these days when cutting...while riveting i sit...but the desk is at a chest height... i kinda like this setting...it is atm totally cluttered...somehow i work feverishly at my best then...^^

Much prefer this logo to the first to be honest the other was a bit to busy, also the tracks deserve a mention they look spot on

Can't cast ldd...also symetry was essential for all my builds and a round one such as this... You have to have symetry... That was the thing that kept me from actually including all that steam punk gear
.. I did break the circular scheme thus...but it had to be done...

At doc h..I do have smaller rivets materials still...the rivets you see atm are all 2mm I have really thin styrene rods for that... Have to see if that looks good tho..
