dear ladies and gentlemen,

time again to shift the dust around this thread...

time, time for an update... but before I show you some new pics, I like to thank you all for the support you give to me even so I am not that often on as often as I would like to...you keep me going tho! and that I am thankful for

I am currently also working on some real life kids weaponry again... carnival is about to happen here and my kids have set their minds to be ninjas for this time... so I am making swords and shurikens... made from wood...and my beloved wife makes the clothes...so far it seems as if we will keep that deadline...

speaking of, the deadline of the leagues of extraordinare riveteers terrain competition is nearing , so far lots of stuff has been done for my entry, but still a lot is needed...

and since it is a riveteers entry for a riveting competition... it needs one ingredient without a shadow of doubt...rivets...:

made from a special paint , this paint has a lot of stability to it, I am relying this time on shaso´s method of making rivets...:

this is the paint

and this is how the rivets look like...

next...first time painting...in fact the first coat of a dark brown already has happened on the house and on the first half of the walls and the tower...more to this tomorrow...hopefully...

cheers, vik

Rivets look good vik, is that applied straight from the nozzle of the paint? (I seem to recall seeing that sort of paint with nozzles)

Exactly MT, consistency is rather thick, the applicator is almost the same size as a textmarker...a bit unsteady in size of the rivets, but all in all acceptable...

The fact you don't want it to go to the shelf will ensure it doesn't vik. Now take the puff paint to an old t-shirt and design the next" official" league wear

Now that's crazy amount of rivets - but the painting approach seems to save plenty of time

Like the PVA rivets, just plant and leave to dry! Brilliant!

Looks nice.
What still disturbs me a little bit: Climbing supports on the outside of the fortress walls? Isn't that a little bit dangerous?

Using puff paint for rivets is a really nice idea.

I want to see hex shaped cookie cutter . There seems to be two watch tower photos, but as I like watch towers I'm not disappointed. Everything looks awesome Vik, now I must go get my Indian figures and come over.

well, it needs to be painted a bit more, as the corner "binders" still are bare, but thankfully currently riveted already...than base needs to be done...as currently it just sits on a board of MDF and that needs to be themed and made good looking too...so lts of stuff still^^

actually i have that feeling quite a lot too...one of the biggest things i have to solve is that i want beds on the bunks...how ist still something i need to figure out...

luckily it looks good, but your wooden hut will never get tossed from its woodgrain throne...i cheated my way through this job^^...just basecoat, drybrush with only one color and then wash...
