Have a care Vik . Spain and England are already headed home early. Can Germany, and France and Italy, be far behind? Not going to be Europe's year.

Now a question about the Lego dice. I heard that Germany has some unusual laws about dice. True?

EDIT: sorry I overlooked your question. French was the second language I learned. And the first language I've almost entirely forgotten. Here in the US you'll hear English and Spanish. Quelle Dommage.

I have no idea Vik. Soccer (as we call it) is really just a somewhat recent, growing thing in the US. I'm not really sure why that is, other than we're backwards and arrogant in many ways. I watched a few World Cup games yesterday for the first time. I can see why it can be exciting, but I also see the boring parts. Not as boring to watch as baseball or golf though.

Dumb Question though, Why is England called "England" and not the UK. I thought UK was the preferred nomenclature?

Its called England because it is the English national team, all countries within the UK have their own national team (Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland) and each compete separately.

None of the other countries from the UK were good enough to qualify for the world cup this time around.

Same as in Rugby world cup or the 6 Nations.

I bet you speak as much French now as I am still able...which is a shame as I personally think languages are very important... but you need so much time and a good teacher to learn a new one...
and I never heard any unusual laws about dices...? where did you hear that from?...and well... tomorrow I think Germany will win against Ghana and when the tow of our teams clash we will watch the game with some friends ...I am as I already told not that much into soccer/ football, but when our combined kids all want to see the game...who am I to be ignorant about it
and we´ll see after that game how far Germany will get... but I think Germany in the half finals is always a good bet...

well... as I used premade junk (plastic icecream sticks...) so I guess wider is no option... besides...there is no more room...and I've tested the sitting position with the now infamous pants down guardsman fitting they are^^

I tend to be one hell of a lazy guy when it comes down to it... but with that built I wanted to push my limits a bit further... turns out even further
the kids by the way play now the game each day without any parental guidance... and felix is still inventing new rules... now he has included some rules to get reinforcement for each others teams... with roleplay scenes even... I am a proud dad all over

only watching grass grow or waiting and watching the paint dry is even more boring.... also... I never understood why you liked football... I tried it once to watch a game... but it really consists of long periods of dullness and lots of repetitive back and forward movement...
if you want a fast paced all male game where blood, sweat and spilled teeth are the main ingredients... the ice hockey is your game!!! it is the best fun, seeing bodychecks that really smart even when only watching from the gallery...

thanks for the catch dantay... this is a matter best explained by a brit... even tho I would have been able... but that is what I would call a home issue and I only could call an analogy of Bavarians, Prussians or Saxons...they probably all would prefer to be a separate country of their own

well mates... today you see the last unpainted pics of this built... in the pics below I will show you the riveted body of the half track...
also I have made a flag for the outer side of the ramp, and added some nice looking details to the fenders...

Woo Hoo, coming together nicely.
The flag on the ramp is genius

But I have to admit, I'm not quite convinced on the rear door gunner.
Not that it's not looking good, but if you need a guy there, you're doing something wrong
The HT taxies the troops forward, provides tactial fire support to front and side, so they can exit safely to the rear...
Dunno, it blocks a lot of space, that you'd use to dismount faster. With this setup you limit the exit to "single file" again...
Just my 2C
Good job anyhow Vic!

Ah, but it could be there for fast withdrawals. Truck speeds in and the rear gunner drops the door and provides cover for withdrawing the troops that were stranded.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

1-0 to Germany

German fans sure know how to watch the game in style...

German side Union Berlin have allowed their supporters to bring sofas to their stadium so that they can watch the World Cup.

The club, who play in the second tier of German football, have transformed their Stadion An der Alten Försterei into a giant living room for the World Cup with around 850 couches dragged onto the pitch.

And if that didn't seem good enough already, they've also installed a 700-inch screen to watch every minute of the action from Brazil.

Spoiler:

ooohhh... 1-1

Indeed it does... This draw has blown the group wide open for all 4 teams. I can see USA v POR being a draw or even a US win if they can contain Ronaldo. He's not 100% fit (as shown in the GER v POR game) so there's a chance..

while assembling it occurred to be too that the pintle is indeed a bit wide... it is thus a bit surplus... but well... I felt the need to build something like that as you have seen in many war movies like apoc now for the helicopters... but it does indeed interfere with the embarking ....and single file is definitely not the way to go (lame pun...)
and thanks for the compliment to the flag, copied my own design on the big red one to get it this time again...
