That makes sense since Phillipines are considered a U.S. puppet and i think they're easier to justify against which would force the usa into a war with canada much quicker.

That's all well and good but what about my suggestion that you play as Switzerland in HoI4 since that is your home nation ;P?

First off, if you check my achievements you realise i got all the achievements for switzerland

Secondly, the swiss tree and power mechanics are designed by someone that has no idea about switzerland and made the tree insufferable to play. (As an aside the swedish paradox clowns were also dumb enough to make Etter Antidemocratic yeah... that pisses me off as an innerswiss catholic for a multitude of cultural related reasons which i will not go into beyond the fact that PDX done goofed up and the apt vocabulary to describe the goofing up would get censored.)

Thirdly: minors have become insufferable to play in the recent patch.

Fourth: I already have a WC with switzerland for the you get a Kanton and swiss cheese achievement.

You want me to go through the almost 250 achievements for Hearts of Iron 4 first just to see all the ones you have so that i don't make a minor comment in error? Calm down dude jesus. I know competitive hard games can have some very loyal and at times angry competitive players but i don't think i ever got that bad with xcom 2. Only issue i had was how they tried to make xcom out to be sorta bad guys in their own right in the Chimera Squad game. There are very few things about that game that i enjoyed. Part of the issue is xcom 2 was just so much better in every way.

@KamikazeCanuck:

We can play HoI4 together if you want and i can give you some pointers of what i figured out. You'll have to give me your steam name in a DM though. The reason i never played it with Not Online is i imagined it'd be insufferable for both of us to play a game one of us is great at and the other is a fairly big noob at. Similar skill levels are more tolerable to play with.

Finally finished playing Rogue Trader. I must say I found the ending of the game dumb AF. It made all the choices made along the way feel meaningless, and the subtle line one tried to tread being the Rogue Trader feel insignificant. Either you become a Dogmatic or you get taken out by one side or the other. Very, very disappointed.

In fact, I'm feeling so salty right now that I'm back of the fence about getting into Dark Heresy at all. I certainly wouldn't want to experience a similar flop of an ending with that one...

Wrapped up Abiotic Factor earlier today, was a fun ride, interesting to see where the DLC / expansions will take things.

Also plugging away at Dawn of War, fun to play through that campy stuff again.

I finally finished a BG3 run from start to finish.
Surprised that the Tactician finish rate is so low.
The final fight isn't good.
There are still a stupid amount of bugs that have yet to be fixed.

Finally starting a Rogue Trader playthrough with the new Lex Imperialis DLC.

Quite the entrance by the Arbites, with a pretty cool in-game cinematic showing a team wreck some heretics. Didn't realize they'd get introduced so quickly in the game, its right before meeting the planetary governor on Rykard Majoris. Going to dive deeper into it when I get off work.

Also, got a regular gaming buddy into Darktide and we've reached Havoc Rank 22. The modifiers really put a new spin on the game, and it attracts a more social type of player as co-ordination is needed at 20+ Havoc rank.

I've been playing lots of wh40k dawn of war 1 remastered in multiplayer. I won all my game in 2vs2 but then we tried 4vs4. I got owned against tau and probably necrons and was on a side they pushed on hard. I didn't do so well.

2nd game of 4vs4 i actually held the most ground and thwarted sisters of battle pretty well. I think as imperial guard i'm enjoying psykers a lot more (mostly to stop enemy vehicles even in tier 2). That said despite all my efforts my team was folding hard and i was the last to lose. I think i critically wounded sisters of battle though and they were easily the weakest link on the enemy team.

Picked up Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound. Solid little game for sure but not quite as sharp in the game feel as I was hoping. Attack range is a little short and movement feels just a tad floaty. It mostly works though and most of the levels have a good flow to combo through enemies. Cool bosses too that really rely on old school pattern learning. Solid little game, but I was hoping for a bit more.

I played more dawn of war 1 remastered today in multiplayer 3vs3 and streamed it on Twitch. The first game my team lost and i got taken out by sisters but it was such a stalemate it lasted like 45 mins or more.

Then in my 2nd game of 3vs3 it also lasted 45 mins but my team won. There wasn't as many thermo plasma generators on the 2nd map as there was in the first but it had a lot of relics in the middle of the map.

Oddly i think i'm one of the only ones streaming multiplayer for dawn of war remastered at the moment which is probably increasing my views a lot.

Finished my second playthrough of Rogue Trader.

I went with the heretic route and it was pretty satisfying. Cartoony of course because you're selecting the kick puppies dialog option each time to rack up heretic points, but that's sometimes how Chaos is. There was one real moment of horror near the end though (minor spoilers for this route)
Spoiler:
when you reach the very end the Inquisitor has some men set up a force field blocking your path. One of the heretic options is to use the power of the gods to wish the field never existed.

It blinks out of existence and the men stationed there start writhing then disappearing one by one. Your wish not only removed the field it reverberated through time and prevented these soldiers from even being born. The dialog describes the look of shock and agony as they realize this before blinking out of existence. It's pretty messed up.

I also had the DLCs for this playthrough. My one criticism is it frontloads a lot of XP - by the time I got to chapter 3 my character was like 2/3 of the way to max level. The Void Shadows DLC was really good - I like the companion you get (and I romanced her), I like that it adds more areas to your ship so it feels like a big ship and not just 2 rooms, and I like the plot.

The Lex Imperialis DLC was kinda meh. I didn't find the additional companion that interesting. The ship capture mission with him and his squad was fun, but the remaining missions felt tedious.

This time I also got the DE companion (I still think it's dumb you only get 1 dialog option in the middle of chapter 3 to recruit him and if you miss it you're just boned). I romanced him as well and he's fun, the voice actor is really enjoying his line delivery and the romance is suitably dark eldar-y if you get what I mean.

I had read online the heretic route was not nearly as refined early on, but as of now it seems decent. There are a couple secret companions you get towards the end that are still not great - they get added so late you basically only have them for the final missions. Not a lot of characterization, no special missions for them or anything.

Overall, I liked it more than my Iconoclast playthrough.

Ya, I noticed the XP explosion. I’m level 40 as I leave the Haemonculus in Comorragh.

And I’m on the same page about the feudal world DLC being tedious, though I do like the new companion and class. Wish we spent more time exploring/unlocking stuff in the ship that we take over(if you choose that option)

Me and my wife, we've just finished Split Fiction on PS5. Great game, very creative and imaginative, with plenty of variety despite having pretty generic TPP gameplay as a base. We heartily recommend it.

The latter half of this picks up quite a bit. The bosses are the real highlight though the levels pick up a bit too. It just seems to get off to a slow start.

Finally giving the FF7 Remake a try. I was always a little hipsterish about it as a big fan of the prior games that was a bit put off by how ravenous the fanbase got around it. I'd love to have the time to replay the original to form an opinion on the changes, but overall I'm liking the production as a whole. I could do without the dementors, but they've really done an exceptional job bringing Midgar to life. I think being able to look up at the plates or down at the slums and the extra time spent in both does wonders for the story.

Also, as someone who really enjoyed FF16 and wasn't particularly bothered by the action focused combat, I will say I can see how this might do a better job of implementing that while still keeping some of what makes the old menus engaging. I could definitely see where elements of this system would have helped win fans over on Clive and the gang.

Trying my hand at an Unfair (highest difficulty) playthrough of Rogue Trader.

Chaos Spawn at the beginning almost made me give up, but luckily Adelbard held it down and was the last man standing.

At around level 11, my pyromancer/bladedancer build is pretty insane, and supposedly it can solo the game, but I'm not that crazy.

Also, trying my damnedest to get to rank 40 in Havoc missions in Darktide. The game is so fun when a good crew works together.
